Would definitely recommend this accommodation for its situation and would return if in Cognac.
Pros:

The chalet was air-conditioned which was fantastic in the heat in Cognac. The deck onto the river was beautiful and the pool area was great. Very easy walk into beautiful town with good restaurants, bars and shopping.

Cons:

The bed was against a wall so the person on that side would have to climb over the other to use the bathroom. Very basic equipment if you wanted to cook.

Hôtel magnifique et très calme dans un parc près de la rivière . Grande chambre avec balcon parfaitement équipée avec la climatisation bienvenue , il faisait 40° à Cognac lors de notre séjour ! Proche du centre ville . Très bon petit déjeuner et parking gratuit dans l'hôtel . Une excellente adresse .

Prachtig hotel in middeleeuwse stad
Pros:

Prachtig hotel in middeleeuwse stad met veel leuke restaurantjes. Luxe lodge (nr 3) met mooi terras met uitzicht op enorme tuin met vijver waar kikkers in woonden. De kinderen vonden dit erg leuk! De airco in de kamer was perfect bij 33 graden buiten en het zwembad was klein maar prima. Het ontbijt was erg lekker en de speeltuin had een megatrampoline. We waren een knuffel van onze dochter vergeten en werden gelijk gebeld door de receptie dat ze hem hadden gevonden in onze kamer. We verbleven een nachtje hier op doorreis en zouden hier zo weer terugkomen! Erg goede prijskwaliteit verhouding.

Cons:

Het bed was erg hard, wat ons vooral opviel omdat het bed in het hotel de de nacht ervoor een stuk lekkerder sliep, met zachtere lakens. De koffie bij het ontbijt was matig, maar tegen betaling kon je koffie uit de espresso volautomaat machine krijgen, helaas zonder cappuccino optie.

The location was excellent.

Cons:

It was in need of some TLC.
We got the last lodge available which unfortunately was overlooking a car park with the maintenance yard/workshop next door. There were no cushions on the outdoor furniture on the balcony. The pool was closed when we arrived early evening. We were told it was because it was windy even though we were in the midst of a heatwave.
