Wundervolles Hotel mit tollem Frühstück. Wir kommen wieder!

Sehr ruhige Lage, dennoch nur eine Minute von der Ubahn entfernt und schön an der Innenstadt gelegen. Sehr sauber. Es wird großer Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit gelegt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, die Räumlichkeiten schön und geschmackvoll. Das Frühstück war herrlich

The room was a nice size.

Cons:

My stay started off on a disappointing note and never improved. As other guests have said, there is no elevator to get to reception although there is one to get to your room. My guesstimate would be that there are about 20 steps. The front desk person has cameras to keep an eye out on the building. It is obvious that he sees me struggling with my large and heavy bags. To be fair, I know that they are my bags. However, hotel guests usually have bags! If I were elderly or physically challenged, there is no way I could've made it to reception with my bags. As I was saying, the front desk person continued to watch me struggle as he chatted with another gentleman rather than offer assistance. If employees are not willing or able to assist with luggage then a ramp or lift should be added!
My second issue is how unwelcome I felt. Especially the people at the front desk. Not a smile. Not a welcome. Not a happy birthday. Not a how was your stay? Not a thank you. And again, never, ever a smile.
The walls in the room could use a cleaning or paint job.
Third, when I reported that my in room phone didn't work, I was met with a blank and disinterested stare. I didn't need the phone (I went downstairs to handle what I needed). However, a 'thank you for letting us know' or 'I'll have someone take a look at it in the morning' would've been the proper response to a valued guest.
Lastly, the breakfast. This one, I know, is just my personal taste. But, I found nothing edible. At least the gentleman working there was semi pleasant.
Totally disappointing experience.

Pros:

Helpful staff let us check in earlier. Since arriving Vienna airport at 0530 in winter, truly warm welcome is priceless. Great service! Good location, 1 min walk to U-Bahn, the metro station. Breakfast buffet is superb.
