Very impressive hotel with impeccable services. The staff members were very attentive and accommodating. We ordered the birthday package, and it came with a cute handmade cake and a bottle of fizzy alcoholic drink. We also tried the afternoon tea, (southeast Asian fusion cuisine) and was very happy with the breakfast which had many excellent choices (we tried them all!). The mini hotspring inside our room was also great. Overall, would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit beitou and we would definitely visit again.
Wonderful experience ! Really enjoyed and felt relaxed while stay.
Good facilities & professional service, particularly the essential oil massage.
Definitely will bring my family to visit next time
My favorite hotel in Taipei
The staff is very professional and extremely friendly!!!
Can’t wait to visit again!!!
This was one of the hotels that satisfied me the most in terms of service during my trip to Taiwan. Although the hotel is small, it is located on a small hill with rooms offering a beautiful view. The room itself was quite small and not particularly remarkable, and the biggest drawback was that the air conditioning seemed to be broken. They provided us with an extra fan, but it didn’t help much. What I loved about this hotel was the staff, they were very enthusiastic, friendly, and always welcomed us with warm smiles. The hot spring bath area, though small, was very clean and private. Breakfast did not offer many options, and the food was neither varied nor very flavorful
The aqua therapy pool was great, although a few jets were not working. I used it every morning.
Everything was very clean, but there was a slightly odd chemical cleaner smell in spots, including. It was strongly present at the entrance and slightly present in my room.
The hot spring tubs in every room are very nice and spacious, but the ventilation in the tub room is not very good, which made it a little hard to stay in the tub for long.
The free breakfast food was mostly average. I really liked the complimentary fresh fruit provided in my room every day. They also provided a daily assortment of complimentary small desserts and beverages.
The staff need some additional training. They were very friendly and helpful, but inadvertently rude at times. They would be speaking English just fine to me, but if my Mandarin-speaking friend walked up to us, they would stop talking to me in the middle of the conversation, start speaking Mandarin, and expect my friend to translate even though we were not staying in the same room. Only one young man who worked in the swimming pool area did not do this, so he stood out as exceptional staff.
It is within 10-15 minute walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the MRT, but you do have to walk up/down stairs or hills. So neither exceptionally convenient or inconvenient.
Overall, it was acceptably good value and I would definitely consider staying there again for the same price (which was about half of the Grand View Resort).
No hand soap in the bathroom. Had to request from front desk. A/C isn't cold in one of the room.
A lovely and luxurious stay. The buffet breakfast was diverse and delicious, and the spa is really spectacular. The staff was also remarkably generous and helpful. What a perfect way to begin our travels in Taiwan.
The staffs are friendly & helpful. The lobby is beautiful. Breakfast is good. Outdoor hot spring is amazing. Though the location is a bit far away from the station, there is shuttle bus available.
Too many steps inside hotel made it difficult for older clients as well as high uphill location.
Great staff, great food both for breakfast and dinner. We welcome there was vegetarian tasting menu alongside the regular ones. Service at the restaurant was excellent
Rooms were also very comfortable and our stay was overall vert relaxing
Comfortable and quiet stay. Loved it here
Starting with the positive: we love the hotel facilities, and the employees are very nice people. The lobby decorated with huge bookcases filled with so many books is very impressive. The hotel rooms are nice and big. The bell desk was very helpful with handling our luggage delivery to three rooms. The spa staff was helpful and accommodated a last minute massage treatment.
Why two stars: The first thing I noticed was the pillow cases showing the age (not bright white as I expected for a five-star hotel but kind of yellowish). I was surprised to find an actively moving centipede (or millipede) in my bed under the blanket! Good thing I always check hotel beddings before I lie down but imagine it crawls on me in the middle of night. Not sure if it could be poisonous, I called the front desk. They sent someone to my room immediately and caught the bug. He was very nice and offered me to another room. It was close to midnight and I was tired so I didn’t take the offer. He could have offered changing the bedding and I would have taken that offer. The next morning was the biggest disappointment - the hot spring soak was closed for routine maintenance on Thursday from 11 am to 3 pm. What hot spring hotel would shut down the hot spring in the middle of the day? We were not informed at any point when we checked in or during our stay; otherwise we could have shifted our schedule accordingly. I blame the lack of employee trainings. When we were checking out, the front desk even held our luggage and called the hot springs to let them know that we were to head over. Only after the chaos, the front desk put out a sign on the desk saying that the hot spring is closed for routine maintenance. Unfortunately we were staying for only one night and leaving the country on Thursday. Some of us did not even have a chance to try the hot spring, beating the entire purpose of staying at a five-star hot spring hotel. Such a disappointment to end our trip! I would highly recommend the management improve employee trainings to provide better services. After all, a five-star hotel should earn their customers by attention to details.
Beautiful hotel. The spa area is outstanding. The service is excellent . The private bath in the room with minimal water was very good
Ladys at front are taking care for everything, including breakfast and arrangement of limousine.
Very good service and people. Equipments including lights and safe were not working properly. Wish list:
1. Hand soap should be provided.
2. Hot Spring bath hour should start earlier than 7am.
3. More local breakfast menu.
excellent
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Everything was great from the hot spring tub in the room to the delicious breakfast buffet. The services provided by the front desk staff were especially impressive with Darren really going above and beyond to help us! We would definitely stay again at this hotel when we return to Taiwan.
The Gaia Hotel Taipei is a gorgeous resort hotel but it lacks vicinity entertainment. We aimed at a relaxing one-night stay with hot spring. So, it was satisfactory to our plan.
We had fantastic pre-fixed dinner courses with a few choices for salad, soup, and entree.
The included breakfast was average except the porridge.
The hotel is located about 3/4 mile from Beitou MRT station. There is a hotel shuttle service running every hour, but it's not impossible to walk if you don't mind the moderately steep slopes at the near end.
I'd recommend this to anyone who likes to have a relaxing stay and to pay for it.
Having a personal hot spring ( both at hotel and in room) was wonderful and the highlight of my trip!
A modern, clean hot spring hotel that pampers you once you step in. Staff are very polite and when they show you to your room, they leave their shoes outside! Very spacious room with hotspring tub and excellent in house made petit fours on welcome. Good semi buffet breakfastin the restaurant. The outdoor hotspring is gorgeous. Walkable to major tourist spots. Hotel also provide shuttle service to 2 mrt stations. Front desk staff Sean, Holly, n Meggy are really helpful😍
