Location
Room was very dirty, specially the floors. Beds were uncomfortable and windows weren't properly sound proofed so could listen to everything on the street from the second floor.
Location, right next to the river, near to shops, breakfast
None
Like many other people, i spent one night in this hotel, to ascend Machu Picchu at break of dawn.
Everything went smoothly, room was very clean and inviting. Well equipped and lots of services offered.
I made the mistake to check out to early, before ascending Machu Picchu.
It was pouring rain, I was soaking wet from head to toe, but didn't know where to dry, warm up and change into dry clothes.
So I returned to my hotel, which I had already checked out in hope of maybe arranging something.
Since my room had already been cleaned, I was charged a small fee (15$) to check in again, for a few hours till my train arrived.
So I could shower, dry up and change into dry clothes. Afterwards I was even allowed to get breakfast.
Very good breakfast-buffet by the way, one of the best i've ever experienced, with an excellent view on the wild Urubamba river.
Overall welcoming ambiente, clean and modern inventory, very friendly staff!
I'm very grateful they helped me out.
Ubicación
La ventana no es isolada. Se escucha fuerte el rio si te toca lado rio. Aunque la vista es insuperable
Fantastic stay at Casa Andina Standard Machu Picchu. The room was great and staff could not have been more helpful. Special thanks to Romualdo on the front desk who was exceptional
Had a great time as Casa Andina. The room is nice (though river may be loud to some & there’s no AC which didn’t bother us)
Special shoutout to the breakfast team, especially Lourdes and Sofia for starting our day on a positive note. It truly made a difference in our stay. They were consistently kind, attentive, and professional throughout our stay.
What stood out most was how proactive they were, often checking in or offering help before we even had to ask. Also helpful communicating with us in English since our Spanish is limited, which made everything feel easy and comfortable. Any hospitality service would be lucky to have them.
Amazing staff always willing to accommodate our needs in the best possible way
Aguas Calientes is a tricky place to find a good hotel or restaurant. The only purpose seems to be to find a sleepover possibility in order to visit Machu Pichu. You can feel that in many restaurants and hotels. However, we did hit the jackpot with the Casa Andinas Standard. The welcoming of Romualdo was fabulous. Funny, friendly and seeing that we have 3 kids with us, he offered us a roomupgrade for a very reasonable price. We had 2 adjacent rooms with a main door, so basically a 2 room appartment in the mountain/river side - beautiful! Service, recommendations were perfect and much appreciated. I am actually not sure if he went to sleep, because he was ready at reception in the evening, in the night and in the morning - what a legend😁 Breakfast was also perfect, good variety and literally next to the river.
But the best part, you can see in the picture, such a beautiful goodbye with the frame and picture prepared for us. The kids also got a little present. Romualdo, Orlando and Mirian, thank you for this memorable stayover. We will come back!
Absolutely loved this hotel. Super friendly service and our room was super comfortable - comfy beds, spacious, great shower - everything we needed after active day of train ride and visit to Machu Picchu. To top it all off, breakfast was a treat with both a good selection and even more friendly staff.
The hotel is everything I expected , the check in staff are very freindly and eager to help, special thx to Miss mirian and Mr romualdo.
Very beautiful small town, service is good in the hotel, Alex, Orlando and Mirian gave me great help ! Will come next time if possible ~ thank you !
This hotel was great! It is a bit quieter than if we had stayed downtown. Our room overlooked the river and no one was able to see in our room. Across the river was a tall cliff full of moss and orchids. There breakfast was really good. There were many breakfast foods including fresh fruit, pancakes, cereal, yogurt, juice, etc. The staff were very helpful and friendly always ready for our questions.
We highly recommend this hotel.
It has everything you need for a stay for a visit to Machu Picchu. The room is a nice size and the bathroom has a very nice, hot shower and toiletries and a dryer. The bed is super comfortable and there is a shade to cover the window to make it as dark as you like- we slept like babies every night. The breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of food and hot and cold drinks. It is a short distance to the bus stop to Machu Picchu and the rest of the town. And finally, our room overlooked the river and I loved sitting in a chair with my journal overlooking it tumble down over boulders and also the birds and butterflies!
The staff is also amazing and so helpful to any request - they go out of their way to make you comfortable- we would especially like to mention Mirian, Orlando and Alex , Gladys- they went above and beyond.
I have no complaints.
Fabulous location beside the river. Wonderful breakfast with local food and very helpful staff Lourdes and Sofia.
The staff were very kind. I’m especially grateful to Lourdes and Sebastian for their help.
Great location, beautiful views.

Very nice hotel. Since it was close to the train tracks and train station (with announcements), I asked to switch rooms to the other side of the hotel, facing the river and mountains. Even though I was with a group with assigned rooms at a certain level, the desk was able to do so, as a courtesy to the Road Scholar group. Miriam and Kevin at the desk, and Orlando helped me to change rooms. It made all the difference in my stay!!!
La vista desde la habitación…!!
