Very poor room. Hotel in need of a lot of upgrading this should be made clear at the point of booking. For this price expect more. Wouldn't recommend Hotel in its current condition. Very disappointing overall.

Good stay. Hotel ok but beginning to show its age.

Building is showing its age. It has new owners I am told do hopefully they will renovate it.

We will definitely be returning again in the future.

Staff were really friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay a good one.
Breakfast was amazing. Service was really good. Clean rooms, great spa facilities and the location is superb. What more could you ask for?

Could be great with small changes

Cons:

Staff attitude needs addressing. Some were lovely eg lady on check in at 11pm on Wednesday.
Some seem to lack customer service training. A simple smile and “can do” attitude would be good. This was most noticeable at breakfast. Such an easy thing to sort and would make the world of difference. Eg a young lad tried his best to avoid eye contact so he didn’t have to do anything and then when I asked for coffee he said he didn’t know how to do that and needed to ask someone else! Several had glum faces. Some very helpful.

Lovely old hotel that does need a bit of up dating but what a breakfast room, loved the ball room dancing too

Very disappointed in the new management

Just been taken over by another company not the same as was in previous years previous management food staff and facilities were excellent this time very little staff food especially breakfast was appalling unable to eat it

Have stayed at this hotel 4 times and probably won’t return again. Will be looking at other hotels in the area.

Staff seem to be stressed and struggling. Breakfast on previous visits had been a better selection. I asked for a poached egg and was told no it’s scrambled or fried, the scrambled egg didn’t look appealing.

Lovely hotel, great location.
Pros:

Great location, staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean

Cons:

Room wasn’t ready at check in time, had to wait another half an hour. We were directed towards the bar, waited for 10 minutes, but no barman there so we went back to the foyer to wait.
Bathroom had a dirty drain smell the first morning, it went away when we used the shower. Reported it to reception, but had the same issue the next morning.
