This grand hotel had an idealistic location
The walk up the hill
Period features giving the property character
The view over the sea
Nice quiet bedroom which was spacious
Very good spread for breakfast
We did have a balcony with a sea view but we were looking directly onto a roof, it wasn’t quite as romantic as I had hoped
We did not have a direct sea view at breakfast despite there being empty tables that could have been made up
We paid for the spa but the jets weren’t working on the hot tub and the steam room was not switched on.
we didn’t like a single thing about the property it needs closing down
the whole place needs sorting out myself and my partner didn’t even stay 1 night and we booked for 2 and that just sums it right up. the rooms are disgusting we found mould everywhere hair in the showers, wet carpets, lights hanging of walls balcony half broken. The list continues
from the minute we walked in the whole staff made us feel so welcome and they are so friendly such an amazing place well recommend
The view was fantastic
Lift broke down with me my partner and baby in when we brought this to staff attention they said oh that happens all the time. A lot of damp around building. Pool was dirty loads of hair and bits in it. Windows were dirty. Left over pizza boxes left in our fridge in the room
Nice view and close to town center
Broken lift need to walk to 3 level many times 🙂
waited over an hour for breakfast- the shower taps did not work and were difficult to use.
Staff were excellent in moving us to a more appropriate room dye to my recent illness.
Hotel was card only and not cash and card as advertised. Breakfast wasn't that good.
The location,
They need to paint outside the building, the location and inside the hotel, very clean, all the staff are very friendly.
The staff were welcoming. The view from the room was great. Didnt use the indoor pool or spa but it did look inviting.
The breakfast was underwhelming, at 930am the pastries had not been replenished, the bread was straight out of a mothers pride bag and was ice cold, probably had just been defrosted. It came out of the toaster still soggy. A granary loaf which you cut yourself or artisan bread would have been better. The Full English was dry and of poor quality, small portion. Had to wait a while for order and one breakfast forgotten. I'm not a fan of a rainfall shower in the bathroom. Would prefer a traditional shower head. There wasn't anywhere cosy to sit, also no piped music to take away the silence in the breakfast room and public areas.
Very short stroll to the beach, very nicely decorated
Nothing, it was great
Location
Rooms need refurbishing, mice in the floor boards, carpets soiled and smelly.
Location and staff
Unfortunately reported radiator not working and after being told it would be sorted. Wasn't the 2 days we were there no apology as to why
I don't like your question rather than what did we get wrong!
No toilet brush, no bedside lamps, difficulties in controlling the lights settings, and the howling of the extractor fan in the bathroom. Adding to this is the themes settings on entry doesn't not extend itself to the bedrooms
Its location and potential
It had received new owners only the day before we arrived. Staff were unsure of themselves, confused by some changes and unaware of many issues. The food (dinner in particular) was expensive and poorly cooked and presented. Not good at all. However, the following morning one of the new management team noted our problems, apologised profusely and refunded the dinner and breakfast costs to our account. We are sure that with such sensible attitudes the hotel will get back on its feet quickly and that normal proficient service will be restored
