The hotel decor and where it was. Fantastic views of the headland.
My only moan was that they really need a full time window cleaner to keep all the windows clean. There are understandably seagulls but it would make such a difference if they kept the windows clean always, so everyone can enjoy the scenery when eating breakfast and looking out of their room windows. We noticed this last year and again this year.
Great hotel with lots of history and character. Staff lovely. Views excellent
We loved it all but not exactly what some would call modern. Still independent and family run, gets my vote. Breakfast is fab
Everything
Nothing
Fab hotel, great location with amazing views over the ocean, very opulent decor, lovely breakfast and spa was great too!
All star were very helpful and friendly
Stunning views and great facilities
We arrived a bit early and felt the receptionist was a bit overstretched?
Location was perfect. Breakfast was very good and a good choice, catered for everyone.
Staff were all really lovely and helpful. The views and location were amazing
Didn’t have room service or vegetarian options in the restaurant
Comfortable bed
Very dated hotel.
Pool area very run down and poor.
Window didn't shut properly in the room so wind was whistling through it all night. When I checked out and spoke to reception about this there was no apology and was told it was due to the recent bad weather.
The hotel 1st impression was amazing, the style and decor were mind blowing. Staff were amazing throughout our stay. Breakfast was faultless and mothers day dinner the best Sunday lunch I have had.
The spa was over-rated, a small 4 person hot-tub where you were very snug, two person sauna and 2 person steam room, so the spa could only cater for 8 people at any one time, the pool was not warm , which was ok with me but my wife did not use. The hotel was tired and this was apparent from the spa area and room, mold in the room around the windows and in the shower. (awabs law). There were numerous parts of decor in a poor state which was disappointing.
Excellent breakfast and dinner, good room overlooking the sea
There were a couple of maintenance items in the room that required attention
The location was excellent. With good onsite parking, The staff were fantastic and very helpful , We stayed in room 204 which had a balcony with great views over the sea , Newquay beaches and the harbour . The room was clean and spacious with large bathroom with a separate bath and shower , and the breakfast was excellent.
The lift was out of action at least once a day on our 3 day stay , however once this was reported it was reset straight away .
The jacuzzi was not working correctly in the leisure suite and the sauna and steam room kept tripping out .
A regular visitor as the location is fabulous and free parking a great asset. The staff are always lovely and responsive to queries
Lovely hotel. Comfy bed, nice room, with bath and shower of good quality. Lovely staff. Plenty of parking.
With great views of the sea and harbour it was a shame all windows were filthy. Hotel was in need of a touch up here and there. Things like blistering paint from leaks. Broken drain in the shower. Plug in sink didn't hold water so it slowly emptied while plugged. Disappointed to be charged 10 pound each to use spa area on arrival, thought would be in the price. Tiny breakfast too. Paid 120 for one night with breakfast not quite up to value. Still a pleasant stay.
Breakfast was banging but very small.
The tv wasn't bluetooth or had Internet so we couldn't watch netflix etc
