Run down and not maintained
Pros:

Staff was nice and helpful.

Cons:

Even after requesting a change of room upon check in, the next room also smelled. I have traveled in South East Asia and Asia and stayed at all kinds of accomodation. NEVER experienced such smelly sheets, pillow cover and towels in my life. I had to cover the horrible mold mildew smell with scarf and shirts. Add to that the malfunctioning AC. Staff told me I should keep the AC running when I go outside, but it was still suffocating and warm. Unfortunately all night long even at the lowest 18 degrees, it was warm and humid. I just could not wait for the morning because who wants to be bothered 3:00 a.m. by a hotel staff coming into the room to check or changing rooms at such hours with pjs and all.
No hair dryer in the room.
Bottom line: you can get a proper hotel room with AC in Thailand at this price. And you can avoid the creepy stares from the Indian men who are staying at this hotel long term for work.

We really loved the hotel.. we could approach the staff at any time of the day. Hope to come back again😃

Short trip to Batam.
Pros:

The front office staff Tania spoke good English and was very warm, courteous and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, service staff Wani n Devi was serving at the breakfast cafe. Their service was excellent.
The conditions of the room was just ok to stay for a few nights, rooms was very small and there was no cupboard but there was a safe below the mirror. The hotel is directly opposite the Nagoya Food court. It is a very nice airy hawker centre serving many types of cuisines and local fare with live band playing every night except Mondays.
