very bad experience will never stay here again
Pros:

there was nothing good about this place there was a bad smell in the entire hotel, a lot of things were broken there was no toilet paper holder, the bedsheets smelled bad and the pillow covers had burnt cigarette marks the heating was also not working the room got really cold at night, the curtains where broken over all very bad the room walls and ceiling had stains

Cons:

there were sketchy people lined up in front of the hotel door which was kept closed all the time and only one person at a time was allowed in as if they were given some kind of drug but I am not sure what was going on thee it was very scary

Comfortable; adequate
Pros:

Surprisingly quiet for the location. If you get a room facing the courtyard you hear none of downtown. Staff were good hosts, quick and friendly.

Giant Tiger and the LC are walking distance. It's easy to get snacks and groceries. Every bus you need is right outside with one directly to the airport and back. Most of downtown's entertainment is walking distance also.

Cons:

You ever been to a Salisbury House that hasn't been renovated since before they banned smoking indoors? It's got that feel, look, and smell to it. It didn't bother me that bad but it was definitely present.

The control knob for our register fan was a... chimney from a bic lighter. There didn't appear to be any way to turn off the radiator so the room got a little warm.

If you have kids with you, don't stay here. Pretty rough joint, inside and out.
Pros:

We both liked the location because it was central downtown and everything we wanted to do was within walking distance and mostly within 10-15 minutes.

Cons:

What didn't we like? OMG, so much to report. Paid for a room with two queen beds but there was only one in the room. The carpet is thin and hard and sticky. There's something going on at this hotel we couldn't quite put our finger on: quite a few scrungy-looking residents hanging around the entrance, who come and go and yell up at their friends/enemies at all hours night and day. Parking options are by the hour, so that might have been a clue. Housekeeping is hit or miss: the bed was made and the garbages emptied each day but the used paper coffee cups got taken and not replaced. Had to ask for two hangers for our coats. My wife cleaned some sort of dried-up God Knows What off the bathroom counter on our third day (it wasn't from us) so who knows how long that was there. We opened the fridge to put two bottles of water inside, and some frozen-solid open package of cheese fell out on the floor. We didn't even touch the microwave out of concern for how long ago it may have been cleaned. The 'restaurant' on the main floor is a dark, disorganized ex-coffee shop where lots of opened and empty cardboard boxes seem to be stored in the kitchen area. We didn't go in during our stay but the front desk guy gave us our two coat hangers off the coat rack in there.
