Great place to stay in Reykjavik
Pros:

A great little hotel with friendly English speaking staff, a great restaurant and a smorgasbord breakfast buffet to die for. Well situated in the city centre with many attractions nearby or a half hour walk away.

Great hotel
Pros:

As a family we just loved this hotel, one of its best assets are the staff ( especially Anna and Monika on reception). These ladies went above and beyond to help us and were so informative and friendly. It was centrally located so easy to get around the town and find the bus stops, and the breakfast was amazing. The gym, sauna, and hot tub were an added bonus as was the coffee machine in our lovely room.

Clean, spacious rooms with nice bathrooms.
Pros:

We only stayed one night but they made me feel special right away! They gave me a little welcome gift with wine and chocolate because I let them know it was my birthday. The facilities looked great but we didn’t have a chance to use them. The room was spacious and had a view of the street. I loved the bathroom—it had a private toilet so one person could be doing their business and another could use the mirror. It was also hard to hear someone in the bathroom which is always nice. I wish we were closer to some of the food options and bars but it was still a nice location.

Cons:

It was extremely warm—thankfully we had great windows in our room to offset. We were lucky to find parking on street, but it is a little difficult to find. It was noisy but with the windows shut it was just fine. If you keep the windows open, I recommend sleeping with your AirPods in and on.

Excellent location and exceptional staff
Pros:

Hotel is in an excellent location, on the main street in Reykjavik and close to shops and restaurants and a good sized supermarket. But stop 9 for tour pick ups and drop offs is only a few minutes walk away as is the stop for lical buses. 10 minutes walk to the harbour where we saw the Northern lights.
The staff were really helpful and friendly, always speaking to us as we entered or left the hotel and happy to answer any questions or offer advice.
We arrived around 11am expecting to just leave our bags but were given our room immediately which was very much appreciated.
Breakfast was excellent with lots of hot and cold options and the staff were very friendly and efficient. On our last morning we had to leave before breakfast started so were given a breakfast bag to take with us.
Our room was clean and comfortable with a safe, coffee maker, hairdryer and bathrobes provided. There was space for our cases but no drawers to unpack into. Heating was very efficient - we had to turn it down - and there was plenty of hot water. The only issue we had with the room was the lighting, especially the reading lamps which were so poor you could barely tell if they were on or off!
We enjoyed our stay here and would certainly stay here again if returning to Reykjavik.

Fantastic hotel in a great location!
Pros:

Stayed at the Alda Hotel for 4 nights in Febuary following reading such positive reviews and we were not disappointed.

This hotel is in a fantastic location in Reykjavik, easy walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. We found it an ideal base for exploring and a positive that it is located at a quieter end of the street so no issues with noise.

Buses cant come directly outside of the hotel so for our airport transfers/excursions we had to get picked up and dropped off at bus stop number 9. Bus stop 9 is literally around the corner though and no more than a few minutes walk.

The hotel itself was lovely, modern and clean. Rooms were good size and lovely and warm, which was much appreciated after being out in the cold weather!

The staff were warm and welcoming - the hotel also gives you a mobile phone when you check in which you can use throughout your stay which i thought was brilliant!

Good selection on the breakfast buffet also.

Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!
