I try to write balanced reviews with both the positives and negatives, It would be impossible to come up with a negative for the Pirrion Wellness Hotel. It was pure bliss.
From the moment you walk in the door, you are treated as a special guest.
The hosts were absolutely lovely. Warm, welcoming and helpful.
The rooms were great. The bed was comfortable and the shower was the best shower we have had in our 5 weeks in Greece.
Breakfast was great. A good selection of food with something for everyone.
Parking was easy and the hotel was in a central location to visit all the other villages.
We had dinner in the restaurant all three nights and it was great. The food was good and the prices reasonable.
We can not recommmend this place enough and will definitely be back.
We went to Ano Pedina for a wedding and stayed at the Pirrion Wellness Boutique hotel for a week. To say that it was wonderful would be an understattement! All teh staff were extremely friendly and helpful and Dimitra went as far as to drive to Ioannina to bring us something small we forgot at the hotel after we had left!
The building itself is nice and there's a wonderful balcony where one can have breakfast and take in the beathtaking views (look for photos of Ano Pedina on the net!) and the smell of Jasmine while having breakfast, or in fact at any other time.
There is a small restaurant on the ground floor which serves excellent food (breakfast and supper only), and a bar on the floor above which we did not try, but looked very good.
One word of warning, not about the hotel, but about the village. It is built on very steep slopes. EVERYTHING requires either going up or going down a steep slope, and even within houses, there are probably more stairs than you are used to. If you have any problems with fitness or mobility, take this into account.
Once again, thanks to all the staff at the Pirrion, and in particular to the wonderful Dimitra.
A family of six, two adults and four children in two bedrooms. The rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated, comfortable and very well maintained. The hotel facilities we used are the swimming pool, the game room and the restaurant for breakfast and dinner - amazing view. Parking is a little tricky but manageable. The village itself is small with a few houses, church, a closed school, and a few other restaurants and hotels. We enjoyed walking in the village in the evenings when we returned from our day trips in the area.
The staff is very friendly and professional - well beyond what we are used to - and we felt great during our stay. We happened to forget a personal item when we left, and the hotel staff was supportive and helped us get it back.
Amazing welcome, breakfast and service! So happy we stayed here!
the pirrion hotel is a little bit isolated, but so nice, clean snd warm. the people working there make all the difference. always there and ready to help if needed. the rooms are very nice, warm, and daily cleaned . the breakfast is tasty and lots of variety
We met Dimitri there that gave us home feeling , super service , great area directions and above all great will to come back .thank you Dimitri
A bit off-road, this magnificent castle it unique. You have a feeling that you would like to stay there all day long. The staff is welcoming and helpful, and the kitchen is great.
Breakfast is full of surprises, and the dinner we had there was authentic and good.
There is in-house Hamam and Jacuzzi and inside garden with good view.
We stayed at the hotel for 3 amazing nights, Dimitra the host from the first moment with a smile and vitality to the guest service for everything, dinner at the hotel is recommended, the jacuzzi is lovely at sunset.
Excellent place. Great service, great restaurant, great service. Positioned in a convinient route between zagoria attractions.
Hi class service, food, amenities etc'. Way above local places.
Even the coffee is great.
Might go back some day
We were two couples ,enjoyed very much at the hotel,Dimitra-the manger was fantastic- very friendly and helful
We arrived to the hotel after a long driving from Edessa ( some four hours of driving).
We were welcomed by Dimitra who assisted us with our luggage to our room.
The room was very nice with great view of the mountains.
Dimitra explained us where to go and what to see ( what’s must) for one day trip.
The travels in the mountains were amazing and so the breakfast and dinner.
If you plan to have trip in Zagori mountains, my warm recommendation is this one.
Incredibly beautiful place in a convenient location for traveling in the villages of Zagoria. The rooms are well-kept and well-equipped and Dimitra's hospitality is generous and always with a smile. For every request you will receive an excellent recommendation. Highly recommended, do not miss drinking cranberry liqueur prepared there.
This place was such a beautiful find. The hotel is family run and I felt so welcomed straight away. It was my first time travelling solo and I had come from Ithaca for this next part of my trip. Dimitra the manager was so helpful even before I arrived and all the staff were just gorgeous. I had great chats with Petros too- one of the newer members of staff. My room was so pretty and quiet although I did wake a couple of times from early risers next door.
The location is stunning although I made the mistake of not bringing a car. I had trips organised however to hike the gorge and go rafting so I was fortunate to be picked up and dropped off. I also wanted to see the high viewpoint of the gorge before I left. The owner didn't speak much English but was the most kind hearted man and actually took me there and back (taking more than an hour out of his day to do this). This was so sweet and the kind of kind act that you would only really find in family run places.
I ate in the restaurant - it was very quiet, with only myself eating one night although I had a good chat with the staff which was nice. The food was great, homemade and I loved the little touches like a free mini dessert and aperitif offered on arrival back from places or after the meal. On the Wednesday evening I didn't realise that the kitchen was closed so they recommended I headed down to a taverna 3 mins walk away -it was alot of fun with a local band and greek dancing.
This area is beautiful and the staff/ hotel are lovely. I also enjoyed the hot tub in the evening - wait until later on to make sure it is hot in temperature and it is gorgeous with the views. Thank you for making this a beautiful stay. A piece of my heart remains here! So much love, Rathika x
Mostly recommended!
Personal care - Dmitria gave us very good recommendations where to visit, answered to each question.
Good facilitate room. Clean and comfort.
Excellent breakfast.
Mountain view.
Attention: access via stairs, no lift.
what to say about Pirrion, its hospitality and its people!! We stayed 3 marvelous nights at an amazing suite, and we loved it form the first moment. The comfy bed, the bathroom, the jacuzzi and the living area were so relaxing! Just like home!
I have to mention the delicious homemade breakfast with localities, marmalades and cakes, savory variety and sweet heaven, cheese, eggs, salami options, rice pudding, pancakes, everything was hype!!
We had so many unforgettable experiences, the spa, hammam and massage by our therapist was great and very professional. We enjoyed it a lot!!
The restaurant Skantzochiros, offers very tasty cuisine, greek with local tastes, the best soups, the great wine list, all is amazing, I wish we have tried more!
Finally I have to speak about the people, Dimitra the hotel manager is just the best! Professional but friendly, she is there for all customers, and she is doing her best in order to please you! Can't wait to visit the hotel also in spitting or summer time!!
The stay was great. I eat only gluten-free food due to Celiac disease, and the crew was very kind and helpful. They made sure I have everything I need, and took it very seriously. They also helped us plan our trip and provided a lot of information. The hotel is very beautiful and comfortable, and it's location is excellent, making it very easy to travel in the area.
We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Pirrion. We booked two connecting rooms for our family of 4. The rooms are quite small and when you are traveling for 3 weeks you have quite big luggage so that was a challenge. The common areas are lovely, really relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was super, I just wish I could have ordered a cappuccino. I also missed fresh fruit. One day there was watermelon but the other days there was nothing on offer. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great hotel, great service. Best value for money
We ordered a Junior suite. The room is a great fit for a couple, but we were with a 13-year-old girl and the room was not fit for that. There is no real separated shower room. It is practically in the room with a glass door and as such was not practical for us. In that respect I think the description of the Junior suite is misleading.
Other than that the hotel is fabulous.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming especially Dimtria that took care of everything we needed. Very good breakfast. Most recommended if you are looking for place to relax and enjoy the mountains air and village atmosphere
