Pros:

Tack room was large and spacious and felt very comfortable. Had everything we needed.

Cons:

Certain parts of the room were left bit unclean like cobwebs in the bathroom, excess dust on furniture, under the bed and around the mirror. Also, the side door along the walkway was left unlocked, we realised after our first night because we were walking along the walkway and decided to check the door for no particular reason in which we were shocked to discover it was unlocked the whole time. Corner tack rooms do back onto the street and privacy and noise can become bit of an issue.

Excellent Service & Excellent Hotel - Top Class
Pros:

Excellent front desk service on arrival and departure. The rooms are so luxurious, clean, tidy and very comfortable. Excellent restaurant service, succulent food and a very relaxing atmosphere throughout. Totally enjoyed my stay and only wish i could have had extra days in this hotel.

Pros:

Had breakfast in our room as it is fitted with a kitchenette. Hotel a few minutes walk to gorgeous Hagley park and a few minutes drive to city centre. Staff all went out of their way to ensure our comfort. Food in restaurant delicious and our room was meticulously cleaned.

Cons:

Bed side tables. Totally impractical. Suggest replacing with a table with a draw.

Overvalued and not worth the high rates.
Pros:

Large room.

Cons:

Not 5 star, dont know how it got that rating, maybe the room rate. Pillows were like a folded sheet, nothing to them, sheets had rips in them at the foot, building is dilapidated, food was sub standard, coffee was rubbish. Very disappointed for the price, if it was priced at 3-4star rates it would of been ok.

A must stay if you are in Christchurch.
Pros:

Absolutely loved our night at the Hotel Montreal. The staff treated us like royalty, food was outstanding and the hotel room was immaculateand so spacious with top of the range tea and coffee. The location is in very easy walking distance to the centre of Christchurch. A very relaxing night away with the feeling that you could be anywhere in the world.
