We are staying at this absolutely beautiful property right now. We have booked the apartment Agapi for 9 nights through Expedia/ Vbro which was by far the best price. We are so happy to have booked this place. Authentic crecian Villa with outbuildings . They have 5 different size apartments. It’s a Boutique Aparthotel. No food provided but all apartments have a kitchen. There was some appreciated welcome items such as juice, water , tea, coffee and fresh fruit from their own garden. The apartment is kitted out and has a lovely private terrace. Everything is very clean . The smell of flowers and herbs is divine. Yes, there is the highway close by and you can hear it a little, but it does not spoil the experience of this beautiful special place. You will need a rental car. And it’s only a five minute drive down to the main coast road. Another highlight is the ginger cat who loves to pop in for a treat 🐱. The owners live in the main house , a very friendly elderly couple. You see him around, watering plants, cleaning around the pool early morning. Their daughter runs the place and is easily available on WhatsApp . I can wholeheartedly recommend this place if you are looking for a tranquil authentic away from the crowds place to stay

I had a lovely stay here on my own - beautiful area around the pool, calm and quiet to enjoy my books. Apartment was clean and cool with a nice outside area. Thank you for such a lovely time in Crete.

A peaceful and delightful haven run by a discrete and helpful elderly couple. Beautiful and roomy apartments with garden and pool. Well-equipped. No children's pool so more suited to adults and older children who can swim, but there is a playing corner in the garden for small children. Kitchen with microwave and cooker. Possible to handwash clothes and dry on rack on terrace, or speak to the host for the use of a washing machine. Plenty of sunbeds available at the pool, with cushioned mattresses to put on them. Necessary to have a rental car, as it's quite a walk to shops, restaurants and the beach. Excellent, comfortable Tempur mattresses!

En skjønn og fredelig oase drevet av et koselig og diskret eldre ektepar. Vakre og romslige leiligheter i en velstelt hage. Godt utstyrt. Basseng med solsenger. Ikke barnebasseng, så egner seg best til voksne eller par med spebarn eller eldre barn som kan svømme. Kjøkkenet har mikrobølgeovn samt komfyr med stekeovn. Stativ til klestørk på terrassen, håndvask går utmerket, men også mulig å låne vaskemaskin ved henvendelse til vertskapet. Anbefales å ha en leiebil da stedet ligger et stykke unna stranden og butikker. Komfortable Tempur-madrasser, så her sover man godt!

Everything was better than what i've had imagined! The couple that owns it are awesome and very nice.

Photos could not reveal the quality of the outstanding, incredible hotel. The swimming pool was superb, the room was beautiful and breakfast was delicious. The owner’s family was helpful and accommodating. Amazing value for money. We would like to come back every year. The best hotel ever! Don’t miss it!

L’ensemble de l’établissement clôt est très joli et parfaitement entretenu, la piscine est grande pour un faible nombre d’occupant Puisqu’il n’y a que 5 logements. Service de chambre tous les jours avec draps et serviettes de toilette fournies.
Établissement très calme et reposant au vu de ce que l’on a pu voir lors de nos sorties.

Wonder-woman is not just a Marvel charterer"

The Mrs and I’s recent holiday to Crete was meant to be some serious R&R after a recent bereavement and work pressures. We scanned the internet via AirB&B and came across this delightful villa which is part of a small boutique hotel called Metohi Georgila, owned and run by Areti and her parents along with supporting smiles from her two beautiful and well behaved young daughters. To say we had a few issues getting to the villa would be an understatement, not because it’s hard to find or anything to do with Areti far from it it was all to do with the UK bank systems being down and rental cars …….. I digress. Anyway we eventually arrived and were warmly greeted by Areti and introduced to a fantastically well-presented villa complex.

Areti speaks the most amazing English and explained all about the villa, local area and which restaurant’s where best to savour. The Villa is well proportioned and decorated in a modern yet regionally sympathetic style with every possible amenity including little extras of homemade cordial and biscuits. The rooms were immaculately clean and I am a bit of a perfectionist. The rooms all have vaulted ceilings and there was not a cobweb in sight.

On our third day Areti even phoned the local vehicle hire shop and managed all the negotiation for us. We hired the bike and had two days of great fun but on the third day we were unfortunately involved in a serious accident, resulting in severe bruising to my chest and my good lady badly breaking two bones in one leg. This is when Areti AKA as Wonder-woman came in to being. She was devastated once she heard the news and within two hours later she was then in the hospital by our side (some 25Km away from the villa). With her came clean clothes, homemade snacks and a selection of toiletries all at her own expense. She then spent many hours comforting and consoling and just holding my Mrs’s hand even when she was asleep. 

For the next 8 days Wonder-woman as I will now refer to Areti from now on it, came every day and spent 2/3 hours with us just to make sure we had everything we needed and to help with the language translation in order to make our experience of Greek Healthcare more straightforward. Note…. Please get travel insurance as Greece does not have the NHS, is extremely limited in resources but does have an experienced medical team. We owe many thanks for the warm respect and technical care shown to us. 

Back to Wonder-woman, her family and their beautiful home open for you all to share. A heart felt thank you for all your support and your love. You are now a friend for life. We have remained in daily contact since returning to the UK and are planning to return to her fantastic villa with our close family and friends next year to get married and have the party of a life time with her and her gorgeous girls. See you very soon Wonder-woman xxx 

Excelent place to relax, far enough from the the caos but close enough to the main attractions. The staff is very friendly. The swimming pool is great and the breakfast delicious. The smell of the different plants all around is great.

A lovely spot just off the main drag. Absolutely perfect pool area and very nice host.
Fantastic place to stay if you want a quiet place to hang out. It’s also a short walk to the Maleme tavernas and beach, plus the bus to Chania stops very close by.
Highly recommended.

My family (2 adults, 3 children aged 14,12,8) spent a lovely afternoon with Areti at her beautiful place at Metohi Georgili. She taught us how to cook 3 Cretan dishes, including a starter, moussaka and a dessert. Areti involved all of us in the preparation and we look forward to trying to recreate the dishes when we get home! We were given recipes for everything we made.
We then had a wonderful lunch, including wine and fresh lemonade, and were invited to swim in the gorgeous swimming pool.
I’d highly recommend this experience for anyone interested in cooking! Areti is warm, friendly, patient and incredibly generous and her home is just stunning.

My husband and I took a private cooking class with the owner of this guesthouse, Areti. Fantastic experience. Two and half hours. We made three traditional dishes and ate them with a nice glass of wine for lunch. Discussed Cretan olive oil, herbs and spices used in their dishes. We did not stay at the guesthouse but found the premises to be lovely. Highly recommended.

Very pretty hotel ran by a very pleasant family. The rooms, ground and gardens are spotless. The pool area was also pristine. I would have to go a long way to complain about this hotel.Very relaxing.

I would say you need a car if you want to go to a nice beach as Maleme has not really got anything going on, worthy of note.

A taxi to the nearest town is approx 8 euro each way, or about an hour walk. We did a mixture of both and did not find it a hardship. I would rather be away from the 'tourists' than with them!!

Metohi Georgila is a gem waiting to be discovered in the island of Crete and outside the city of Chania. The level of the apartments and the quality spent to make this a unique experience is well above the normal 4-5 star generic hotels found in the region. The pool is great and the neighborhood is small so it is perfect for reading your book, or relax and recharge the batteries. The staff was always very helpful and provided help at any instance. Recommended!

It was one of the best holidays ever ! Beautiful place, Areti is the best host in this part of Crete ! ;) Perfect place for chillout with very nice pool. Everything, like EVERYTHING was perfect in MetohiGeorgila. We'll l be back 4 sure! :)

If you're after a secluded getaway from the resort infested Agia Marina, this is the perfect stay. This villa has been in the family for over 100 years and recently renovated to an excellent standard. The outdoor areas are just beautiful. There is a glorious terracotta tiled pool and when sunbathing all you hear are the birds chirping. Totally peaceful.
We had a lovely 1 bed apartment with a large veranda that overlooked the swimming pool from one side and sea from the other. Such an enjoyable space to sunbathe/dine/relax.
It's a good spot to go out on days trips, beaches etc but it would be worth having a car if you are staying here.
The family who runs this villa is super sweet and totally helpful too. Don't hesitate about booking. We would definitely go back.

Wonderful place, kind owner, nice swimmingpool, great views, close to major sites but far enough to be out of the tourist hustle and bustle. Beautiful fancy apartments , great service. Go there! 15 minuten from chania.

We stayed here for 1 week with our 5 month old baby. The apartment was well maintained with a well stocked kitchen.
