Valamar Obertauern Hotel

it´s not a typicall Austrian Hotel, summer feelings (Valamar Style), service was not helpfull - Meal was ok, but not typicall, service not able to exlain the menu....

Mooie kamer, erg netjes. Goede faciliteiten; skiopslag, sauna, relaxruimte. Halfpension: uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet, ‘s avonds meerkeuze voor en hoofdgerecht. ‘s Middags gratis thee en koffie met hapjes.

Hotellet var i forhold til pris ikke i 4 stjerne kategori.

Das Hotel biete schön eingerichtete Zimmer mitten im Skigebiet Obertauern. Das Personal war immer sehr freundlichen und aufmerksam.

Hotel staff in any and all positions appeared extremely friendly and service oriented. Distance to the ski slopes is a marginal 50M or so. Hotel management pays attention to details. Breakfast and dinners in restaurant are diverse and of excellent quality. Not all serving staff may be fluent in either German or English, however, all are eager to overcome any shortcomings with enthusiasm and a very positive attitude. The Classic Quadruple Room appeared a bit small but otherwise, very clean, well maintained and equipped. Overall, this hotel is a great place to stay!

Lage TOP, Personal sehr freundlich, Zimmer sauber, Tiefgaragenparkplatz - das Auto muss man jedoch beim Auschecken vor das Hotel stellen, sehr gutes Essen, Wahnsinns Frühstücksbuffet. Hotel kann ohne schlechten Gewissen weiterempfohlen werden!

Første møde med receptionen var ikke specielt positiv, da receptionisten (en herre) ikke var specielt imødekommende eller serviceminded. Der var temmelig meget rod i indtjekningen, men vi blev kompenseret med en kølig flaske hvidvin, som de bragte op til os på værelset - dette var en fin gestus.

Morgenmaden var fin med et godt udvalg. MEN kaffen var under al kritik, specielt når hotellet har 4*. Desværre var aftensmaden virkelig ikke noget at skrive hjem om. Ingen smag og dårlige råvarer. I vores øjne meget skuffende.

Vriendelijk personeel, goed ontbijt en ruime keuze in het avond eten.
2 persoonskamer is aan de kleine kant en geen minibar.

Great Hotel in Obertauern for Families and Couples to stay. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The room was a bit small but this is not unusual for an Austrian ski resort. We had breakfast and dinner booked - both were ok. The vegetarian options are a bit limited...
The staff were mostly not locals but very friendly and helpful. A plus: The room was ready early and we were able to hit the slopes the day of arrival.
Overall I can recommend the the Valmar :)

Personal spricht kaum Deutsch. Das Frühstück und Abendessen war einem 4 Sterne Hotel absolut nicht würdig. Ich kenne das Hotel von den letzten Jahren und ich war immer begeistert von der Freundlichkeit des Personals und dem Essen. Ich werde dieses Hotel nicht mehr buchen und auch nicht weiterempfehlen.

Wir hatten eine schöne Woche in Obertauern mit viel Schnee und guten Pisten

Enjoyed my stay at the hotel very much. Ski lifts are convenient, and meals Included with room are very good. Solid four star hotel. Wellness area very nice too.

Great hotel with perfect location for accessing the ski runs. Newly renovated with underground parking and nice spa. Half board included with high standard

Ruim en comfortabel hotel, vlak bij de piste. Ontzettend goed en vriendelijk personeel, uitgebreid ontbijt en prima eten. Eigen garage, ruime skiberging en verwarmd schoenenrek. Het is een vrij nieuw hotel, de sfeer en inrichting zijn heel aangenaam: grote lounge met openhaard en uitgebreide wellness mogelijkheden. We konden op de dag van vertrek de auto in de garage laten, bagage achtelaten en na een ochtend skien nog rustig omkleden en douchen.

Service was exceptional, better than any luxury hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff really went above and beyond. Very nice hotel in a good location.

War sehr nett, aber Preis / Leistung könnte vor allem beim Essen besser sein.

Haben im Dez ein Wochenende gebucht - dadurch bezahlbar
Zimmer mit Schiebetür zum Kinderschlafcouchbereicht ist eine Super Idee - dadurch bekommt man Apartment Komfort zum DZ Preis; ansonsten eher nicht so auf Kinder ausgelegt - aber für das Skifahren ist das ja egal

We stayed at the hotel at the beginning of the skiing season and there were not many people. The hotel was cheaper than all other 4 star hotel in the area but we found it very good value for money. The service was excellent and I was particularly impressed by the attention of the restaurant's staff to my specific dietary requirement (gluten free). I only mentioned it once, but on all other days I was given a special meal and was advised which dishes I can/cannot eat. Moreover, without being asked the chef even ordered some gluten-free bread for me for breakfast and made a moussaka with gluten-gree bechamel sauce. The only small wrinkle was the shower in the room: either the water pressure was not very strong or the shower cap was not very good.
