The uniqueness of the hotel and the position in the countryside.
The room was not ideally laid out with a low ceiling. Poor wifi.
The setting, building, decor, rooms and facilities were terrific. Tasty breakfast. Super powerful shower.
Disappointed that we were allocated our rooms (Yew & Delphinium, both beautiful) on the side for the building overlooking the wedding marquee. I had been advised that there was a wedding taking place but had not been advised of the marquee and music prior to our arrival and only found out that the music would finish at Midnight, which it did, when I enquired after returning to the hotel after 10 pm. I would have thought that rooms for non wedding guests would, as a courtesy, have been allocated on the opposite side of the building.
brekfast was great staff excellent we did not eat there as we had a meeting choice of beer was poor /lagers need better hand pulled beer and lagers
Lovely location. Great stay & staff were very attentive. Food & room service were first class
We only stayed 1 night in March 2026 on our way back from Scotland but the whole experience was so good that we have re booked to come back in April 2026 for a 3 day break
Location on the lake and all of the staff we dealt with were excellent a big shout out to Alex on reception for everything and a special mention for Joel in the restaurant
Scenery and age of the building

I stayed at Nunsmere Hall Hotel during my visit to the lovely historic city of Chester and had a wonderful experience.
The hotel has a beautiful sense of classic English elegance. The property is peaceful, surrounded by lovely grounds, and everything is extremely well maintained. What I noticed right away was how clean everything was. From the rooms to the common areas, the attention to detail was obvious.
Breakfast was excellent and a very pleasant way to start the morning.
The staff were fantastic throughout my stay. Everyone was polite, welcoming, and helpful. I would especially like to mention Sana at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of.
I would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chester and looking for a refined and relaxing place to stay.
We had a lovely stay in this wonderful hotel. Guest reception were always very welcoming each morning and on our return at the end of each day. Great breakfast cooked to order. Our room was very spacious and beautifully presented.
We explored the surrounding countryside and canals. We will return hopefully.
Dinner charged £25 for 1 chicken breast with half a teaspoon of gravy and barely more than a couple of forks of shredded potato a portion way too small for a £25 main course. Also a room waa booked and dinner and there was no dinner allowance awarded. The total food bill on top of the room cost paid was over £8,6 for 2 people. But with little food provided. Considering the main courses are higher priced they could at least foll the plate with food!
Almost everything.
Only slight irritation is the background Muzak played in the bar and restaurant.
We had a table booked at 3pm today for a Pre Mother’s Day afternoon tea . Staff are so lovely and the food was delicious .. We will be back ♥️
Nunsmere Hall and its staff were very welcoming, Sana who we met at reception was very polite and friendly and explained everything to detail. The room was very spacious but in the attic with all the beams showing, would not choose this one again ,very claustrophobic. Very clean room ,but a little tired, just a bit of tlc required. Excellent food in the restaurant from the lounge menu , better choice on the bar menu. Service was good . A lovely visit and would return.
Great breakfast great location polite and professional staff
Had to wait an extra half hour for check in
Very clean, lovely staff.
Excellent breakfast.
Room was very hot, raditor would not turn down.
Also it was advertised as having a pool, it doesnt.
This doesnt spoil the hotel.
Clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfasts. Staff welcoming, friendly, and professional. Good value for money.
Classy hotel in a lovely woodland setting. Very clean and easy check in. My room was huge and so was the en-suite. Lovely deep bath. Nice toiletries and plenty of hot water. Bath filled very quickly too.
