Belvedere Village

We were only there for a few hours before we got a late flight back to the UK but everything was fine. Good size rooms and beds with a modern fit-out. The location is great too - very close to the beach!

Delightful, friendly staff, especially Maria at reception.
Had a room with a sea view but although there was a balcony, the sea view was largely obscured by buildings (so would save your money)
The room itself was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom, although it was very dated.
breakfast on the first day was quite meagre but the second
day was much better. We probably had breakfast too late the first morning.
The pool is small but well-maintained.
Two minute wall to crystal clear beach and lots of restaurants and bars.

The hotel was very well situated in a nice place.

First they try to may you pay extra for the airconditionning, which was not mentionned at hotels.com. As I made a reclamation, they accepted it, thank you.

Two major disappointing facts:

The pool is old and small, not inviting even with very high temperatures outside.

The bathroom is very outaged, can remeber my backpack trip to Thailand some 30 years ago. After the shower, you have to go to toilet with swimming gear as water was everywere. And nothing to hold the shower , you have to wash with one hand.

this hotel is definitely not the points worth hotels.com users mention.

The picture of the room does not reflect the very light renovation they did.

Positief : Kamer schoon, waterkoker en koelkast aanwezig.
Negatief : Toegangsweg slecht aangegeven en erg smal. Geen lift, wat niet meevalt met 25 kg bagage.

Hôtel difficile d’accès. Vue très moyenne. Piscine petite qui ferme à 19h. Confort et propreté dans la chambre située dans l’a bâtiment neuf. Malgré la construction récente climatisation inopérante....

hen holidaying in Greece we require basic but clean accommodation in an area which is more Greek than touristic. The Belvedere fitted this bill perfectly and being situated 30 minutes form Heraklion was an ideal base to explore Crete. Agia Pelagia itself was not overrun with tourists,boasted a pleasant, safe beach, not big enough to be over exploited and had a number of very acceptable restaurants and bars nearby. During our stay 2 of these put on excellent Cretan live music.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Disappointed! It had good reviews but I can't believe so many people were happy with this hotel. Room wasn't cleaned. Towels and bed linen smelt. Swimming pool wasn't clean.

This hotel is perfectly situated away only steps from the bustling daily activities of the beautiful beach. Don't miss out on getting to know the staff who are friendly and charming. This place is a hidden gem because of the proximity to the beach and restaurants while quiet and peaceful at the hotel. Whether you have a drink at the bar or get a treatment at the spa, these are affordable luxuries that is rare for such a great location.

Rude and irresponsible reception.
Hotel held onto our passports for 2 days, even forgetting to return them at checkout. However, the man at reception had said he would return them within the hour after check-in.
We missed our ferry and had to return for the passports. No apology was given. When we asked about staying one more night, he told us it would be 20$ more a night than we had originally paid.

the resort is quiet and small with a 200m beach about 3m deep (2 lounges' worth) so always busy and about 20 restaurants (all those we tried were excellent).
my only gripe was that without a car it would be very difficult to get out of the bay as the buses are infrequent and often full, the walk to the top (road) is ok if you're fit but apparently the buses don't stop up there (though they do on the way back from the West direction which is very convenient) and the headlands don't have paths to explore neighbouring bays easily. so either stay in the village/bay or hire a car if you have itchy feet - we ended up meeting a couple with a car to share trips out but before that we spent 80Euro one way to Rethymnon!!
