The character and the welcome
Very good
Dinner on first night wascold
A lovely hotel, room was very nice and comfortable and had everything you need. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
I cant say there was anything i didnt like if i had to complain about anything it would be the bed that was a bit too hard but thats personal preference.
Have stayed here before. Much improved owing to a program of renovations and upgrades.
Plenty of car parking.
Bedroom was very nice.
Bar and breakfast very good.
Staff always very helpful.
Unfortunately no evening meals were on offer this time.
Was great Staff were so lovely . Very central x
We excepted to get the room advertised (red room ) bit disappointed , but we were so tired and strapped for time that we didn’t say anything as didn’t have energy to move bags again, but we would defo come back & the room we had was lovely x
The room had obviously been recently upgraded, and it was beautifully decorated, with a very comfortable bed and a plush sofa to relax on. The en suite was clean and bright.
The breakfast was outstanding and served in a stylish room.
The hotel's location, with free parking, was within walking distance of the city centre.
Overall, we were pleased with our stay and will definitely return.
We stayed only one night, and it met our needs. Can't fault it, other than the view is of a road and not of the hills, but we chose a city hotel for convenience.
My stay was short but very comfortable

Fraser Room
Room was clean but wall outside bathroom smeared and in need of a clean/lick of paint (noticeable)
Window from the outside looks like it needs ATTENTION!
Could hear television next door like it was in the room
On returning from dinner out and a walk along the river we went to the hotel for a nightcap - disinterested bar tender. We asked which whiskies were available and didn't get much of a reply. But on our table we found a brochure all about them. Strange . . .
Too much Halloween - for me
The room was so hot! the only window in the room had broken glass and the window didn't feel secure when you were opening it.
Location, the older style/layout of hotel, Reception welcome. Quality of food.
Loud guests, both at breakfast and late at night (after 11pm) on the landing outside my (single) room. Due to outside heat, and having to keep the window open meant all noise was heard. Ear defenders were required.
Location of room at top of stairs meant it did not feel private enough.
There was a worrying amount of long hairs on the bathroom floor (I have short hair so they were not mine).
Layout of booths in dining room - too far away from the table.
Inexperience of serving staff at breakfast.
Layout of cereals with spoons in the top of containers made getting the cereals and milk quite awkward.
Housekeeping staff thought I had already checked out and came to clean my room - not sure why they assumed that.
No bedside light.
