OYO 493 Mali’s Room

very basic

I have been travelling Asia of and on in 2017 and 2018 and have stayed in exceptional rooms on a budget and others that are bad but priced appropriately. This room is awful. Smelly, dirty and downright disgusting. Owner didn't seem to appreciate how unacceptable it is. Thank God I only have one night.

We have stayed here before when it was Western House Hotel. The rooms are basic, but have air con and a wet room. There is WiFi available. The bathroom is a wet room. The hotel is situated right next to a temple, if you are a light sleeper you will be woken by the Gong which is hit in the early hours of the morning. We find the hotel to be in a good location, as it is in a quiet area but within walking distance to the main sites and attractions within the old town. There are tuk tuks and songtaews available to go further afield. This hotel would benefit from having cold drinks and snacks available to purchase in the reception area. (free tea and coffee is available) The reception area is a nice large comfortable area.

Mali's room is right next door to a temple, so be prepared for gongs at 4:30 in the morning when the monks wake up. The place is tucked back in the narrow-street neighborhood, but only one "block" from the main road. Very quiet (except for the gong at 4:30!). The lobby is spacious and very tidy. The rooms are spacious and clean. Great mattress! Hot water, decent A/C, slightly spotty wi-fi, great staff! I would stay here again!

It’s in a great spot. Close to food, transport, attractions etc. I often stay in this area because it’s easy to get places, either on foot or by songtaew. Compared to places of the same price in the area it’s a pretty poor choice. It was clean but there are water stains on the ceilings and the bathroom was moldy. The bathroom floor was covered in water all the time. The water was constantly dripping. The towels had holes in them and along with the linen were a grey colour rather than white. They had been washed but were just old. The second day we had no hot water. I would definitely try elsewhere next time.

Average for single traveller.
Weak air conditioning.
Noisy neighbours.
All in all got the job done and was able to use this location to sleep between site seeing excursions.
Cheap and Great location and close to various sites

Not much far to the airport and easy to walk to the center of Chiangmai old town. Staff are very kind and service mind are Excellent!!

Comme à chaque fois le personnel est très sympathiques et attentif aux bien des clients.

500 THB la nuit est plus que convenable.

ウエスタンハウスではタクシーの運転手分かりません。ホテル表示はタイ語、英語でもマリルームになってます。大通りから一本裏手に入るので最初は分かりずらい。ホテルと言うよりも一般的なアパート部屋貸しっていう感じです。寝るだけなら問題ないです

Hotel calme, chambre avec le minimum auquel on peut s'attendre
dommage que le ménage ne soit pas fait quotidiennement, au moins pour vider la poubelle des papiers toilettes. Surtout que c'est la saison creuse, donc peu de chambres occupées

We enjoyed our 7 day stay in Mali's Room Hotel (Western House Hotel). The staff were very friendly and helpful and answered any questions we had and were always smiley when we passed through reception. There was no safe in the room but we were able to store valuables at reception. However we felt the room and hotel was fairly secure.

The room had a fridge wardrobe free water balcony and we got new sheets towels and toiletries etc every day.

The location was perfect as it's located in the old town in Chiang Mai. We were in walking distance of the main attractions bars shops and restaurants etc while the area around the hotel was quiet so we could get some sleep.

I think the room we stayed in could do with a bit of painting and decorating in some places and the lobby could have more on offer i.e water, drinks food and snacks etc but for the price we paid this hotel ticked all the right boxes for what we needed and was definitely good value for money (while it isn't a five star hotel).

The hotel should update google maps to the new name of the hotel as taxis tuk tuks etc only knew it as western house hotel.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend to anyone staying in chiang mai who is looking for a reasonably priced hotel. We would like to thank the staff for making our stay relaxing and enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again

매니저나 주인이랑 통화해달라고 했어요.
그 남자 직원은 그냥 안된다는 말만해요.
1시간을 밖에서 기다렸어요.
결국 국제전화를 걸어서 호텔스닷컴에 문의했어요.
부킹넘버 알려주고 내이름이 나오는데도 체크인이 안되요. 정말 끔찍한 직원..
완전 화나요. 절대 이용하지 마세요.

Visited here with two of my friends, we were backpacking so not very fussy. To be honest, it's okay if your going to be busy with activities all day and just need a bed to lie in at night. Rooms are very basic, has tv, fridge, air con &water. Beds are far from comfortable unless you like rock hard ones &the sheets were torn in ours. Also our shower didn't have any hot water just cold. If your an early bird then you don't need an alarm as the cleaners I think like to be slamming doors at 6am-7am consistently. Literally there's no soundproof doors/walls and they have no problem in making lots of noise. Wouldn't bring any kids here! Wouldn't stay here again.. :)

Clean basic room and mattress. A small fridge in the room. Coffee is a self service at the lounge ground floor. Value for money. Walking distance to amenities. Street foods just opposite side of main road.

Very good for me, single travelar. Free coffee is huge. Beds are comfy and free water. Nice location with lots of food and 7-11 across the street. Management is helpful. But window views could be bettet.

Mauvaise signalétique : autre enseigne sur place , Malis Room (problème avec les taxis !).
Etat vétuste : pas d'eau chaude sur le lavabo, linge de toilette propre mais troué, pas de service de petit déjeuner, pas de ménage dans les chambres, hôtel bruyant. Seul avantage la situation au centre-ville historique. Mais personnel jeune, accueillant et sympathique.

No fue muy agradable, personal muy pocos amigables.No facilidades de restaurant.No tenia ascensor.Me toco en tercer piso y tuvimos que subir las maletas.No limpiaban las habitaciones.No me gustó nada.

Smutsigt i badrummet och hög ljudnivå på natten, personalen känns oengagerad och glömde bort att boka vår taxi till flygplatsen som vi bad om dagen innan. Du kan hitta bättre för samma pris. Rekommenderar inte.

We booked this and stayed for 2 nights, the good things is that the rooms have AC and the beds are ok. The location is ok If you like to walk around a little. We stayed in the 1 floor, it was dark, noisy at night and all kinds of insects crawling in the bathroom, bathroom also had mold. The staff was not rude, but they don't notice you And is surfing FB rather than say hello to you. They also forgot to book our taxi to the airport that we askt for the day before, luckily its not a long way to the airport. You can find better in the same pricerange. Hotel is also called "Malis room" would not stay here again.
