We stayed at the Jinmao Purelax Hotel in Lijiang for two nights in January 2026. The hotel is exceptionally beautiful, showcasing the elegance of traditional Chinese garden design. The overall atmosphere is calm and serene, complemented by a simple yet refined neo-classical aesthetic that creates a sense of quiet luxury.
The staff were consistently warm and professional. We arrived earlier, and the front desk associate, Kathy, kindly assisted us with an early check-in and also offered complimentary breakfast, which was greatly appreciated. We can look at the sunrise over Yulong Mountain at hotel.
Overall, it was a graceful and memorable experience, and we would highly recommend this hotel.
Goof experience, Bella good service
Amazing property with so many activities on site. Kayaking, teahouse, mountain shuttle etc
Wonderful view and a didi away from old town. I enjoyed this location as it was slightly further from busy old town and we get to rest nicely after a long day exploring in a quiet and comfortable area.
Nothing, everything was amazing
Stayed here for two nights, love the architecture of the hotel, and the beautiful landscape design. It also offers a lot of free activities such as arts and craft, animal feeding and fishing.
Got upgraded to the Deluxe Suite, room is clean and spacious with private balcony. The only complaint that I have is the front desk staff could use a bit more training. Check-in and communication were a bit disorganized, I had to call in to figure out where the breakfast restaurant hours and location. WiFi was spotty until next morning. Porter service was super friendly and wonderful.
Overall, a very nice hotel that I would definitely visit again next time I am in town.
The breakfast was adequate, we especially loved the cold brew available at breakfast! The location was great, we had a good view of the jade dragon snow mountain!
The hotel features excellent facilities, beautiful Chinese-style gardens, and a stunning mountain view—truly unbeatable for the price. As a Hyatt Globalist, I was upgraded to a suite, which was spacious and tastefully decorated. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely return with my family. The breakfast was average compared to other Hyatt hotels I've stayed at in China
the Hotel is absolutely classic and beautiful. it looks impressive with the famous Jade Dragon Snow Mountain as its backdrop. its landscape is well maintained. gracious black swans with red beaks swim in its pond. Llamas enjoy their afternoon in its soft green pasture. the whole environment is serene and exquisite. only golf carts are driven within this Hotel. the room is well decorated with hand carved furniture. the bed is super comfortable with high quality beddings. the balcony is private with view of the Mountain. the restaurants served tasty dishes with fresh local ingredients. the Team offered professional and attentive services. there is daily activities for guests including arts and craft workshop. the air is fresh. it is truly a non smoking facility. highly recommend.
Jinmao Purelax Lijiang exceeded every aspect of our expectations. The staffs are super polite and helpful, rooms are neat and clean. We can see the Yulong Snowy Mountain right at the balcony and at the buffet hall. The internal landscaping is gorgeous. With trees and flowers of all kinds surrounded, there's a great sized lake where black swans and ducks call it home too. The hotel also keeps a few alpacas, ponies, goats and boarder collies. Our children really enjoyed petting the animals and feeding the swans and fish every morning.
The hotel room is huge and the bed is very comfortable. There are a lot of activities you can participate in the hotel. Overall a really comfort and relaxing experience.
The fridge in the room is a bit noisy.
Beautiful Mountain View & landscape with Chinese style. If you bring kids along, they will be super excited seeing black swans, alpaca, squirrels & sheep. Hotels have very nice restaurants, Chinese restaurant offers fresh mushrooms and vegetables, with Yunnan special dishes, a bit fusion so less oily and spicy, which is great for nonlocal like us. There’s 24/24 mini mart so you can buy essentials but you’ll need WeChat to open the door, handle self payment. Room is spacious with bath tub and big closet and balcony with mosquito net door (they have beautiful garden with different kinds of flowers in bloom and lovely ponds)
Breakfast spread was good. Location is ideal since it’s a little outside the busy tourist areas but not too far. Very good staff service we were given free breakfast and we got to paddle in the little lake they hand on premises, feed the farm animals, make the dye handkerchiefs etc
I chose this hotel simply because of the view it offers, and also, because it is the only Hyatt-affiliated hotel in Lijiang. I stayed here for four nights and as a globalist, they actually gave me a very generous upgrade to a huge suite with a gorgeous balcony that looks out into jade dragon snow mountain.
However, note the name of this hotel as the other hotel on TripAdvisor that also has this name but with Mountain Lodge, is NOT part of Hyatt! That is actually ANOTHER JINMAO HOTEL IN THE JADE DRAGON SNOW MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK. If you don’t read Chinese, please save the proper Chinese name of this hotel from the Hyatt website and use it when getting around because if not, you’ll be definitely be sent to the wrong hotel, and because that is in a national park, security is going to be extremely tight
Although the hotel is not brand new and certain elements do show its age, I still think that it is very well maintained, but manage your expectations as it is not in the modern decor. Think dark wooden earthy tones and dim lights. My favorite element of the room the car was actually the rocking chairs – one in the living room, and another one that is very comfortable in the balcony.
My suite had a huge separate walking closet that is opposite a huge dual-sink bathroom with separated, toilet (no bidet), shower, and bathtub. Toiletries were actually from Karl Lagerfield, and they actually smell very good. They also provided a lot of bottled water – four at the Nespresso machine, two in the bathroom, and during turned down two by your bed.
Comfort wise, the bedding felt like a normal standard Hyatt mattress - it wasn’t very plush and felt more on the firm side. Pillows were OK and did their job pretty well.
The highlight of this hotel is definitely the beautiful compounds it has with a small pond in the middle - with a beautiful Chinese style pavilion tea house that has the majestic mountain in its backdrop. It is also very easy to get a Didi when staying here and you can get to the nearest Ancient towns of Shu He and Baisha easily - both around 10minutes away. The distance from the train station to here around 30 minutes and if you need to get to the airport is around 45 minutes, and to get to the UNESCO Lijiang ancient town, it takes around 20 minutes. You can also reach the mountain easily with this hotel’s location, but when I stayed there, they had a freak March snow (the last time it snowed in March was actually in 2005) which caused the mountain to close so I wasn’t able to make it there.
I highly recommend this hotel if you are a Hyatt enthusiast or someone who loves to stay in a classic Chinese style hotel. If your main priority is to be near Lijiang ancient town than the hotels there might be better suited for you but what I love about this location is that that other two ancient towns are very near here and those two towns are actually more rustically more beautiful.
