Nettes Hotel - maesiges Personal
Pros:

Good affordable hotel for a quick stay.
Pros:

It's located in an office area. Close to two metro stations. Polyanka station is closer and there are a number of shops and restaurants including a supermarket in its way to the hotel. Breakfast is good but with limited variety.
The downside is its old, outdated bedroom. First off, the mattress is too old and you can literally hear every single spring squeaks. There is virtually no in-room amenities except some poor-quality bathroom toiletries. No hot water kettle. No instant coffees. Not even a facial box tissue! TV is so small and has only a dozen channels (all in Russian). Shower room is new but it has water drain problem. The always-on in-room air conditioner is old and it seems that it has not been cleaned for some years. The dark curtain does not cover the entire windows so you have to see the sun rises at 3 AM in the middle of Moscow summer. Wi-fi is unstable and slow. Overall, it's a good, affordable hotel with convenient location for a quick stay but it requires a significant upgrade of in-room amenities.

Nice place to stay.
Pros:

The hotel is in a nice quiet area of Moscow. It is few blocks to a couple of metro stations. The room was nice and large. The breakfast was good. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Beautiful old Town House with Erratic Reception
Pros:

The Na Kazachyem is actually a very nice, old world hotel, situated in a calm, village-like neighbourhood not far from the centre of Moscow. The building is a classic old mansion with an interior atrium with a winding staircase, several sitting areas and a bar. The rooms are accessed on each floor from this central atrium and have been refurbished with what appear to be new beds and completely remade bathrooms and showers. It was a place you could relax in and it made you want to spend time in the public areas of the hotel, with seating at higher levels in the atrium.
The swimming pool was only available for guests from 08h to 11h in the morning, otherwise you had to pay to use it. I don't like to criticize the level of service in Russia too much because the whole country has made amazing progress in a very short space of time, aided by the World Cup this last Summer. But the service from the young people at reception was really not good to the point of being quite annoying and was reminiscent of Soviet times. You have to keep in mind that they do not work for the immigration or secret authorities, even if they would like to think they do. Such a nice hotel should improve this aspect of its image. Similarly, breakfast service was totally haphazard and random, although the quality very good and it kept you going the whole day!
I really do recommend this hotel, it is simply too nice not to. Try not to be put off by the reception experience and all will be well.

Pros:

Schlecht: Unberechtigte Abbuchungen v. Kreditkarte
Pros:

Einfach unfassbar.

Einmal hatten wir auch keine Handtücher bekommen. Die alten Handtücher waren auch weg.

Would recommend
Pros:

*Price/expectance it's a good option.
*Spacey rooms, old interior but the condition is well maintained and everything is clean.
*Breakfast is decent.
*25mins walking from red square.
*Friendly staff

Advisory:
-It would be nice if there is a free supplement, like a small bottle of water in the room. You have the glasses standing there already.
If you arrive at midnight, there is nothing to drink.

-The shampoo/soap the hotel provides comes in sacks you can't even open without scissors. Imagine trying to open it under the shower. Use something else.

-Put something in the shower room, change some colors or put in like a painting or something. It's clean but it looks like a sanitary dog-washing-place, because of all the same colors.

-Lobby, since you have dark walls and interior all around, i would recommend to light up all the walls. It keeps the 'old' style but it brings much more light in, and when you walk in you really have the idea you walk in some dark hole.

--------------

In the end I would come back, and would recommend this to my friends if they go to Russia.
