Maraya Hotel took such wonderful care of my elderly parents during their 2-week stay. The rooms were clean, bright, and comfortable, but what really made the difference was the amazing staff. They were cheerful, patient, and went above and beyond daily—especially helping my dad with his walker and wheelchair to and from the car and room without fail. Truly outstanding service. Super highly recommended!
We don’t recommend this property for travelers who like to walk around the neighborhood and see the sites, as well as eat the local food. This is not available at this property. It’s isolated and remote. The traffic on the street in addition to no sidewalks makes it unsafe to, walk around in our opinion.
If you’re coming to Chang Mai and want to enjoy the amazing city and what it has to offer, choose a location near or inside the gates of old town.
Food is readily available on almost every block and Ally, with small and large temples scattered about The old town.
This property is too far away and inconvenient to the old town, where all the action is.
We do want to say that the young reception staff was amazing and tried to accommodate us when there was a booking flaw for our party, but the manager rescinded everything they did and made it harder for them as well as us having to wait 45 minutes to an hour longer for check-in.
The end result is that we walked away from our nonrefundable reservations for two of the three days, for a better experience in Chiang Mai.
Such a cute spot! It’s right by the river, very relaxing and calm atmosphere, especially at night. The staff were also very kind
Best hotel ever ❤️ the business suit is the best room in entire hotel and amazing view plus luxury feel
Excellent overall
The hotel locate in a peaceful location. Perfect place to end an adventure day in Chiang Mai, enjoying coffee or cocktail near river or at pool. Room clean and very spacious. Staff always attentive and very kind.
Big up for the cafe team..cool espresso Italian way even so far from home
It was a very pleasant stay, everyone was very welcoming and kind.
Bring tons of mosquito repellent! Apply it especially during breakfast when you eat at the restaurant. Hotel should install a mosquito killer lamp or electric mosquito repellent to lessen those mosquitoes. Breakfast has 2 options - American and Thai. The staff will ask you for your choice of breakfast the night prior. Hotel location is about 10 mins from the airport but it is quite remote. There’s no convenience store nearby so you have to buy everything you need before you go back to the hotel. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. Overall, hotel is ok only for short stay if you need to stay in Chiang Mai town proper for few days.
Beautiful and well-designed, the room is. spacious and cozy bed. The pool area offers a stunning view of the river and the white pagoda. Excellent location close to the night bazaar shopping and the Chiangmai airport. Highly suggested!
This 6-year old hotel is situated on the left bank of the Ping River that snakes through Chiang Mai, and is about 12-15 minutes by car south-east of the Old Town.
It is a smallish boutique hotel with only 18 rooms and suites. The rooms are fairly well-appointed and have most amenities required to make one's stay comfortable.
The swimming pool area and the riverside garden are both charming and pleasant.
The service standard is fantastic, with staff always ready to assist. Khun Praewa who seemed to be always about the hotel is an excellent help, with suggestions of restaurants and places to visit. She made our 6D/5N stay very memorable.
There is free parking for 6 cars at the entrance of the hotel....first-come, first-served.
About 90 metres away from the hotel on the same side of the road is a lovely restaurant called Paak Dang. We had all our dinners there!
All said, a lovely property with an attentive service team.
Please note though that there are no elevators for the two blocks of 3-storeyed buildings and thus, not convenient for persons with mobility challenges.
There is a ramp from the parking area and is useful for prams and wheelchairs - there are several ground floor rooms.
We look forward to staying here again.
Do not book here. I pre-paid for a 7 night rental and could not leave. Although the rooms are beautiful and modern, with great views of the Ping river, it all is negated by the relentless construction noise, coming from the restaurant remodel. It ruined my stay here. All day long, 7 days a week; hammers, buzz saws, loud noise from workers. Of course, no one told me of this when I booked or when I checked in.
I soon found out.
Also guests are reminded to wear masks, as I did, but 30% of the staff working did not. Curious.
I do not recommend. You have been warned.
The view
Clensiness
The hotel is situated by the river so me and my family can enjoy the amazing view easily. Even though we travelled on Thailand’ Father's Day, the staff are so nice, kind, and were willing to help everything.
Beautiful property. Very clean and excellent service from the staff. The food was excellent and the included breakfast was very good. Wish I had stayed longer.
I stayed here with 3 friends in January, and I really have no complaints at all. The hotel itself is a 10 min tuk-tuk journey outside of town, 15 mins from the airport, and perfect if you want to relax. Our rooms were very spacious and clean, bathroom was amazing, and the hotel kindly gave us adjoining rooms. The hotel complex itself is fairly small, but it's all you need. Cannot thank the staff enough, they were exceptional and made our stay extremely enjoyable. We basically had the hotel to ourselves!
What a magickal spot!
Upgraded before we arrived for our honeymoon and welcomed very warmly, so feeling super loved!
The room is lovley, really easy set up and amazing view out over the River Ping & Wat across the way, nice and peaceful!
This is a small but very impressive boutique hotel in Chiang Mai. Less than 20 rooms, very privacy, nice atmosphere, great view and very attentive staffs. Located a bit out of city center away from the busy and noisy areas but not too far to get to all attractions.
Tranquil and Quiet in the third floor as we moved from noised ground floor
One of my most favorite hotels during this trip to Asia. Lovely boutique resort on the riverside not far from the city. Good atmosphere, magnificent view and great services.
Positives
Om and Ice on reception were lovely
Rooms were nice
Negatives
Sheets weren’t changed once in a while week
Couldn’t connect to the internet the whole time and no English channels at all
Too far from the town not walkable
Hotel looks run down needs a makeover
Breakfast choice too small
Would not return as too far out of town
