It stinks!!! Literally, I wish I never had booked this hotel. Being that is located at a major Icelandic attraction one would think it’s a nice hotel. But no, hotel is super dirty, very old hotel.. did I say ‘old’??? needs a major renovation and updates in room and lobby. Don’t get fooled by the pictures. And whats even worse!!??! It smells like rotten eggs in the rooms because of the hot springs around the area. The hotel does not filters their hot water so that’s why smells like that. We complained but nothing was done. Staff very incompetent and inexperienced with guests. Carpet was filthy I was afraid of bed bugs. Luckily was only for one night -in-and-out. Breakfast was just average hot dishes were cold.

The hot tub was a highlight. The fact that they fill and empty for you was awesome! A lot of space. suggestions: bathroom window needed some attention. For the price seems like mattresses could have been better. The weren’t comfortable.

So beautiful and Skogafoss was literally in the backyard! Had no idea so it was truly an awesome surprise. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast buffet was great, and the restaurant was delicious. The lamb burger was one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend!

We stayed as a family of four (kids 5 & 10) and loved every moment. The location is unbeatable — right next to Skógafoss waterfall, visible from our room! Comfortable, clean, and family‑friendly. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and had great variety. Perfect base for exploring the Golden Circle and South Coast. Highly recommend!

Pros:

Great location right by the base of the waterfall. The only thing we didn’t like was that water gets everywhere when you take a shower and the floor is very slippery. Restaurant service is excellent! Easy check in by email was great. We loved having the code to our room before we even arrived

Pros:

Small room. Staff were not present when checking in and pretty indifferent once they checked us in. The property isn't new and seems a little outdated. The room was clean. Breakfast was not good in comparison to other locations where we stayed traveling the Ring Road. The attraction here is the Skogafoss waterfall which you can see out the windows facing it. it is definitely convenient if staying here to climb/hike around this area.
