Bathrooms felt old and rundown. Toilet was meant for toddler. Terrible! I don’t want to have to find and read directions to take a shower. Parking is an issue if you have difficulty walking. 4 stars for allowing dogs!
Our stay to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary was amazing. The hotel is so relaxing. We stayed just one night, but we felt refreshed. The room was very nice, and the river view is unbelievable. The ships pass so close you feel like you could reach out and touch them.
The Cannery went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Thank you to all the wonderful staff! The hotel is beautiful, clean, and the spa services were top notch. Best prenatal massage I’ve ever had from Bre. Julie was great as well :). Only thing that was a small bummer was our room faced mostly the parking lot, but the room was quiet and comfortable. Next time we will just make sure to ask for a better view :) Breakfast offering was also great with many options to choose from. Thanks again, we will be back!
Everything from check-in to the bar, to the food, to the rooms, to the views was absolutely outstanding. We returned a few weeks later just for the additional experience. Our thanks goes out to the staff and our excellent Rolls Royce driver.
Could not have been better! Friendly, efficient staff; clean, elegant surroundings; good breakfast options even including waffles and omelet. My daughter and I especially enjoyed the lounge with the charming bartender and intriguing offerings. We were able to truly relax, chat, and enjoy the atmosphere and fellow travelers. And the spa had nice facility with an excellent masseuse, Claire.
Nothing! We definitely are coming back.
The breakfast was good and we really appreciated the fresh fruit. Lots of choices including made to order omelets. Beautiful seating area to eat your breakfast and enjoy the view of the ships and shipping traffic along the Columbia River.
The coffee was horrible. In the room there was coffee in a steeping type of bag. I made it according to the directions and it was awful. When I was in the lobby I noticed brewed coffee in pots. I tried that coffee and it was just as bad. We walked up to the espresso stand and had great coffee-we mentioned the horrible coffee at the hotel and the baristas told us that they hear that all the time from the guests.
Everything.

Watching the boats go by from our room. Waking up to see the sun rise and the sunset

Had a great time, bed was a little hard but the pillows were great, great view staff left a bottle of sparkling cider for husbands birthday.
Great communication from Kimberly. Beautiful view.
Limited food menu onsite. The snacks I purchased in their little shop were past their prime and stale.
Beautiful Hotel, right ON the water. Can't wait to come back, but next time we will stay for more than one night so we can lounge around at the hotel and enjoy the ambiance and the view!
Beautiful location on the Columbia River in Astoria, OR. Every room has a great view! Fantastic breakfast! Friendly staff especially the bar tender and breakfast staff.
The staff are amazing, they remembered details and our names that I wouldn't think most people would. They were also making special cocktails at the bar, which was an incredibly nice touch. Breakfast was pretty great too. The rooms were very clean and very quiet. The views, well, they speak for themselves.
Loved our stay at the Cannery! This is our 4th time staying at the hotel and each was exceptional. The facility is top-notch: large, comfortable rooms with great amenities; wonderful river and bridge views; fabulous breakfast; and a friendly, engaged, and knowledgable staff. Astoria is a lovely town with a nice downtown, very cool maritime museum, and wonderful history at Fort Steven’s State Park. Highly recommend a visit!
This is my second time to stay and the room views are fabulous. I love watching the ships go by. The wait staff and household staff are welcoming and wonderful. However, at both visits we felt that the people working reception were a bit cold, arrogant and aloof. I feel they could be more welcoming and friendly.
Being close to the riverwalk was wonderful. We were able to walk into town and visit restaurants, shops, and museums. Astoria has much to offer.
