Clean, friendly but very basic
Pros:

The hotel was clean, staff friendly and the shower was new with great water pressure. Breakfast was basic but it did the job. Great location in terms of really central to Braga. Although there is a lift to the rooms there is no disabled access to reception so anyone with mobility issues would struggle. Lovely old building but the electrics were a bit dodgy and a really old air con unit in the room tripped the electric in the whole hotel when we tried to use it. Thankfully they had a fan they could lend us as otherwise the room would have been very uncomfortable for how hot it was there in my visit.

Absolutely delightful.
Pros:

We enjoyed a stay here 34 years ago, and it hasn't changed a bit. Old fashioned, very comfortable, extremely friendly. A lovely breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, and good coffee. Central and close to numerous cafés and bars in this friendly city. Very good value. Thoroughly recommended.

Charming city centre, traditional hotel.
Pros:

Excellent city centre location, close to all Braga highlights, restaurants , bars etc.
The hotel appears to have 3 parking spaces on the nearby road just outside the pedestrianised area, but they were all taken, so we found alternative, free, on street parking.
This is a small, recently refurbished, traditional hotel. Potential guests with limited mobility should be aware that there is no disabled access to Reception; it is up a steep flight of stairs. There is a lift to other floors.
The rooms are quirky, but spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had a quiet room at the rear.
The breakfast was generous and delicious.
Staff speak good English and are very welcoming and helpful.
Excellent for Braga stay and very good value.

good small hotel
Pros:

Quiet city-centre hotel on a pedestrianised street. Rooms are fine, not luxury but perfectly okay. Breakfast is good. And the manager, Claudio, was extremely helpful fixing up an English-speaking taxi-driver for us.

Quaint Hotel
Pros:

One block from the main city center in the pedestrian walking area yet not far from a side road. Also a healthy walk from the train or bus garage. We came by train and left by bus and walked it. The hotel I believe has 13 rooms total. Some have twin some two person bed, I'm not certain their size as we had twin beds. Large closet with four drawers and 12 hangers. A desk, tv we were to busy and never used it. We were on the 3rd floor which has stairs or elevator access. First there are stairs from the street. So it is not wheel chair accessible. We had a balcony that overlooks the pedestrian walk and most of the other buildings. We could see all the way to the Bon Jesus church. Private bathroom with a bidet, I appreciate this since I have one at home. The bath is short on places to put things so we just used our travel kits. Large full length mirror opposite the slider to the balcony. The room was kept clean as we're the towels as provided. Breakfast was served each morning . Fresh seasonal fruit well the time we were there was harvest so we had much. Fresh squeezed orange juice I saw it being squeezed! Crusty rolls, sweet rolls and some muffins. A luncheon meat and a cheese was offered. A variation of yogurts. Coffee or tea is offered. Flake cereal and milk. Just outside the hotel is a dress shop, fresh fruit market, wine bar, drug/apothecary store, shoe stores, jewelry store and one of the oldest open restaurants. This is a jewel of a hotel and the price is very reasonable less than $60/night. If you are here for sight seeing or business you can't go wrong. Book early he has regular guests and contracts with the local universities. I asked for an iron which was loaned out for the night. Bring both adapters for round sockets and basic round prongs they don't fit each other. There were both in this room so I'm glad we had both.

Friendly and well located hotel
Pros:

This hotel is a very good value for money hotel. It is very well located, and has a very good service. The rooms are not very modern, but very clean. There are rooms with a different decoration, but I stayed on a regular room.

Perfect stay + excellent value = will return
Pros:

This is the kind of place I feel like seasoned travellers can appreciate. The hotel's location couldn't be better, rooms and common areas are spotless, the continental breakfast buffet was more then enough and the customer service from Claudio and Florinda was outstanding. I had a warm and peaceful rest, appreciated the spacious bathroom with tub as well as tea in the room and had excellent Wifi on the third floor. The vintage/eclectic decor in the hotel worked for me and the staff are more than happy to help with luggage for the first flight of stairs to reception (there is an elevator inside for further transport). Thank you Claudio and see you again!

Friendly and central budget hotel
Pros:

After a disastrous apartment booking that we cancelled, we found this hotel, sanity restored.
Warmly welcomed by Claudio and we had a great room. 311. Has a balcony and you can see Bom Jesus from there.
The hotel is old and eclectic but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Fresh orange juice and rolls and croissants for breakfast. Ham and cheese not a British type of breakfast but there were some cornflakes and also yoghurt. Coffee not great, would be better if it was hot. Easy enough to buy a coffee back out in the town.
The room had a fridge, tv,, kettle and tea and coffee provided. Also free Wifi.
Don't come to Braga if you don't want to hear church bells, we weren't fussed as they turn off at 10pm and back on at 7am. Plenty of time to sleep between those times. The road was quiet as it is pedestrianised.
Good recommendations from Claudio as to where to eat and other places for us to visit another time.
Thank you Claudio for your hospitality and our talks on world politics.

I loved the vintage look, the location, the friendliness of the staff, starting with the owner and ending with the lady that was cleaning the place. I lived in this place for 3 months and it will always remain in my heart. Thank you Claudio!

Lovely and friendly place to stay in the historical Core
Pros:

We were delighted with our stay at the Bragatruthhotel. The room was large, bright and had a balcony overlooking a pedestrian street. Given the central location it was surprisingly quiet at night. We also enjoyed the fridge and kettle in the room. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. This was one of our favorite places after a month cycling in Portugal.

Terrible room, awful bed and mattress
Pros:

Although the staff has been quite friendly and the central location is quite an advantage, the conditions of the room made the single night I have spent in this hotel as my worst experience ever. To start with, the old fashion decor and a very dark room with some spots in the walls bring an overall uncomfortable feeling. To worsen even more the experience, the quality of the bed/mattress was awful as everytime I moved the bed made lot of noise so I can say I was lucky enough if getting at least 2 hours of sleep from the whole night. Therefore, the quality of the room was not worth the value of the price. I trully not recommend this hotel.

Did i like it, did i not ? ...
Pros:

Well, it feels like a sleepover on a friends house, but a friend of a friend that you are not very confortable with.
The rooms are old fashion decor, the bathroom is even worst, and it had tiles so dark (dark blue) that you couldn't even say if it was well cleaned.
It's not a dirty spot, just not as clear as i would wish.
Opted to use it just to brush my teeth, no bath and no sitting on the toilet.

Central location, unpleasant hotel
Pros:

This centrally located hotel in Braga is overprised for what it offers. The worst part is the noise in the street, primarily caused by some idiots screaming all through the night. Closing the windows does not help much, unfortunately. Second, the rooms we had was furnished with old crappy furniture and had a foul stench. Service is rather poor (there was no second set of towels in our double room, and even after we asked several times, they were not provided). The breakfast is a joke, coffee undrinkable. All this for €60 with parking in the nearby public garage! We should have been much better off in the nearby IBIS.

Great location with a personal touch
Pros:

Great location, within walking distance of all major attractions. Run by friendly, useful staff. Good value. Simple but pleasant breakfast in a friendly atmosphere. Although centrally located, it is on a quiet, mainly pedestrian street. Don't miss Bom Jesus do Monte just outside the city.

On the downside, the hotel is slightly run down.
