It is in a central location and on the doorstep of many shops and cafés
We were very excited about this booking as it was celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday. Unfortunately the apartment at number seven was not up to expectations. We were paying around £400 a night and were so disappointed in the hotel - we appreciate it is an old historic building and has confined space but as soon as you enter the hotel, it looks tired, dark and dated and just needs in our view a significant refresh/upgrade. On going up to our apartment at number seven. The initial impressions were positive and the bed was dressed lovely but we started noticing tired stained curtains with holes and scratch marks and worn furniture, stained painted walls. Outside lovely views but the jacuzzi was turned off, and whilst the hotel mentioned it had been cleaned the water had lots of debris in it and just didn’t look clean or inviting. I suspect they just topped up the water and didn’t physically clean it. We also noticed the outside cupboard or store was full of debris/rubbish. Not a good look and certainly not a luxury finish We did end up complaining to the hotel and they investigated and gave the room a spruce up, but unfortunately they Jacuzzi was still broken. After all this the hotel lost our confidence and we decided it was best to move on. We ended up getting a full refund and booked a wellness retreat in the Hills which was absolutely stunning and well worth money.
The hotel was very authentic, rooms were spacious and comfortable and the location was fantastic, on a quiet street but still very central.
Only one criticism, we stayed in a deluxe room which was not cheap and our shower base had an enormous crack in it which had clearly been there for some time, this isn't what I'd expect from a small luxury hotel

Wonderful location and great staff. We came here to visit family so decided to stay in the old town. The hotel is pefectly located to restaurants and all the sights.

Great location, the excellent staff and beautiful (and delicious restaurant). The breakfast was awesome and so good each morning, the service is fantastic.
We were “upgraded” to a suite on an upper floor without elevator access. It was 50 steps up and down, which was a lot more than expected, especially for my 67 yo sister with bad knees. The room was beautiful but the designer put form in front of function. Very few outlets/plugs, the bath was in the window area, the shower and a sink behind the bed and a separate toilet closet made getting showered and ready difficult. The walls were worn and could use a new paint job.

Petit hôtel intimiste, très bien situé dans La Valette, avec un restaurant exceptionnel, et un personnel aux petits soins.
Si on devait absolument trouver quelque chose à critiquer, on pourrait dire que l'éclairage de la salle de bain ne permet pas de se maquiller, que le bac de douche était fendu dans toute sa longueur, et que le confort du lit n'était pas exceptionnel.
