A beautiful small boutique hotel with a very warm and intimate atmosphere. The staff was exceptionally kind, attentive, and welcoming, making us feel truly at home throughout our stay. The breakfast restaurant was outstanding: a wonderful à la carte concept with delicious food, beautifully presented and served in a charming setting
Everything was very enjoyable.
Location, quirky style, friendly atmosphere
Not liking is too strong but our bathroom was very dark being painted black. If you do that you need the room to be effectively lit and all lighting to work perfectly. That was not the case. We also struggled to get the right temperature water which was boiling hot. The tap design was unusual and maybe operator error but not clear

Situated in the middle of old Valletta surrounded by cathedrals and cafes in narrow streets
We initially booked into a suite with a hot tub but was underwhelming and the room cramped with steep stairs down to the shower and toilet. We requested a change of room and this was arranged without argument or delay. The new room lacked windows onto the street but was spacious and comfortable
Hotel restaurant fine dining v v expensive compared with fish restaurants near ferry to selima 5mins walk away which were stunning

The room was very dark. While I understand the building constraints (an internal, small courtyard), the lighting in the room was poor. Very difficult to read given the quality of lighting. The whole place is dark which must be an advantage in the height of Summer but this was February. 'Gloomy' comes to mind.
Also there seems to be, in these southern Mediterranean converted houses, an underlying sewer whiff which goes with the territory.
Breakfast was delicious but, once again, in a dark room with harsh spotlights.
My recommendation would be that staff spend 24 hours as a guest - try the room, all the facilities etc.
