We stayed at the Regency for the seventh time after a year and are once again more than thrilled with the service. There are further renovations; although we had an old room, it came with a fantastic view of the beach and the beautiful, well-maintained grounds. The quality of the food has improved overall, as have the dining options available during the day. We really liked the buffet at the Oriental and at the Mexican restaurant.
What makes this hotel special are the ambitious and friendly people who work there. Every wish is fulfilled immediately whenever possible. For European guests there is a new contact person, Anna, who tirelessly works to make guests happy, which she accomplishes in an unparalleled way with reliability, diligence, and warmth. She is an absolute asset to the hotel and its guests!
We would also like to highlight the service of Mr. Hossam at the reception as well as the head chef Kahled from the Royal Restaurant, who still prepares the best spaghetti arrabbiata we have ever had in a hotel. He should instruct the kitchen staff at Camello—they could learn a lot from him (here there was a noticeable decline in the food compared to last year)! Thanks also to Mr. Loay for his warm hospitality.
As before, a Soul Animation Team is active at the Regency, providing a minimal level of entertainment—no more and no less—and thus representing the most bored animation team we have experienced in hotels. While they make special efforts for a few guests according to criteria that are not apparent to us, the rest of the guests are completely ignored. Unless they want to sell tickets for the disco tour. Otherwise, the guests are not noticed; instead, the animators walk through the hotel, demonstratively look away, or stand around occupied with their phones. Guests are not invited or informed; for example, it took us three evenings to realize that the show does not start at 9:30 p.m. as announced in writing everywhere, but at 9:00 p.m. Before and after the show NOTHING happens! It is very tiring to wait for the hotel’s own Grotto Disco to open around 11:30 p.m. One evening we did so like other guests and stood in front of a locked door. The next day, when we asked, we were told that the disco had a “day off,” which nobody knew about—again an unnecessary and annoying, clear transparency problem. The animator we spoke to obviously didn’t care about the feedback—we even received a snide remark instead of an expression of regret.
The massages at the hotel were once again very good, and the wonderful time at the Regency passed far too quickly!
If the attitude and the evening program of the animation team were to change, this hotel would truly be perfect.
We are returning today from a 12 day stay at this hotel and am shocked by some of the reviews.
The hotel is spotless inside and out. We had a problem with our room which was immediately rectified by the manager.
The staff at the terrace bar, especially Mohammed Elmansi, could not have done more for us, having a drink ready before we had sat down. All the staff were polite and attentive.
Drinks were bought to our sunloungers, always with a smile.
There was plenty of food in the main buffet and the ingredients seemed to be good quality.
The Italian al a Carte - Camello - was absolutely incredible. The food was excellent and staff very attentive.
The Mexican restaurant was also very enjoyable.
We found that $1 goes a long way.
The spa was good value for money and the massages were lovely, although somewhat difficult to communicate with the masseuse.
The beach was clean and we enjoyed walking along the beach path through the other hotels in the area.
Trips to Soho Square and the quad biking experience were good and the scuba diving trip was excellent value for money.
On the downside, some parts of the hotel are a bit dated and there is ongoing renovations.
We weren’t aware of the two tiered ‘all inclusive’ package meaning that some drinks and restaurants were not included for us.
The beach bar seemed understaffed and often ran out of beer.
This was our first trip to Egypt and gave us a great introduction to the Country. The hotel is good value for money, the staff work really hard. Keep in mind you are not paying Rixos prices, don’t believe the negative reviews. We had a very happy holiday and will be back to Egypt.
The entertainment program needs improvement. The information posted in the hotel about the entertainment program every day is not even close to reality. We never expected the karaoke evening scheduled for Wednesdays. The activity of the animators during the day is invisible, information about the daily activities must be sought out by yourself and there is no guarantee that the event indicated on the hotel information board will take place at all. Communication from the animators with the guests is very invisible, inconspicuous, to find out the daily program we had to look for one of the staff. The duration of the water gymnastics activity is 10 minutes, the guys cannot agree among themselves who will lead what, one starts, then suddenly leaves without saying anything, no one monitors the music playing during the activities. The duration of the Zumba is also similar, 10 minutes, the music disappears during the activities, which forces you to stop the class or end it altogether. The organization is chaotic. The activities are led by 1 person, which accordingly affects both the quality and the atmosphere. Morning stretching exercises in the water park didn’t happen, although it was included in the activity program. Thanks to the girl Loly, who nevertheless gave a small dose of positivity in all this, you can see that a person is in his place and does his job with pleasure. We received information about night activities very quickly and promptly, if we hadn't asked about it ourselves, we probably wouldn't have known on which days and what options were available for night entertainment. Heated pool only 1 in water park, which also caused inconvenience, because everyone used this pool, the chairs were occupied early in the morning, most of them had served their time.
Catering in the hotel, as in most places – every day the same, but we know this, so this didn’t make any problems. Drinks at the bars ended in the afternoon, no snacks between meals, ice cream - water with milk and chocolate color, but the children liked it. A La Carte restaurants – the registration system with qr codes did not work, it was not possible to register in reception for a la carte restaurant, only for an additional fee, which we also used to enjoy seafood, which is not available in everyday restaurants, unfortunately, a visit to the seafood restaurant was also disappointing. Room cleaning, cleanliness – thank you, the cleaning staff was very responsive and kind, helped and provided answers to all questions of interest, helped with laundry washing and other daily things.
In General hotel was good, the main problem was – Entertainment program and performance!
Service was great as we were in the romance regency. Food was lovely and staff were very attentive. Great selection of food and different offerings every day.
Some areas could do with an update, but some of that work is already underway. All inclusive drinks we did find the mixers a little sweet. Pools were a bit cold - but very refreshing because the weather was so hot
Worst place we have ever been to!
The rooms are absolutely outdated, dirty, and horrible. The food is just as bad as the rooms, and there is never enough of it. I have never met more arrogant and rude staff in my life.
The water slides are closed for most of the afternoon, which is very disappointing. Please do not book this place unless you want to waste your holiday. If you don’t believe me, check the photos in the reviews.
This hotel is definitely not a 5-star or even a 4-star resort. At most, it deserves 2 stars.
I had an absolutely terrible experience at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly rude and unwelcoming. It felt like we were inconveniencing them just by checking in. Simple questions were met with attitude, and no one seemed interested in helping or making guests feel comfortable.
The room itself was in awful condition. It was dirty, poorly maintained, and looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. The furniture was worn out, the bathroom was unpleasant, and overall the room felt neglected and uncomfortable. It was definitely not the relaxing stay we expected.
The food was just as bad as the room. The meals were bland, poorly prepared, and honestly some of the worst hotel food I’ve had. Nothing tasted fresh, and the selection was disappointing. After the first meal we actually avoided eating there as much as possible.
What made the experience even worse was the service at the bar and restaurant. Even though we tipped regularly, the staff were still rude and clearly irritated whenever we asked for a drink, despite the hotel being advertised as all-inclusive. On several occasions they tutted and rolled their eyes when we approached the bar. It also felt extremely uncomfortable when they started speaking to each other in their own language right in front of us after we ordered, which made the situation feel even more unwelcoming.
Overall, the combination of terrible service, disgusting rooms, awful food, and the uncomfortable atmosphere created by the staff made this one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I would strongly advise anyone considering staying here to look somewhere else.
We stayed at the massive hotel resort, all inclusive for a week beginning of March 2026 and had the best time. The hotel staff have been very warm, helpful and welcoming. The food choices were incredible and various restaurants to choose from. The standard room was great and was in a excellent location, and easy to get to and from the various parts of the hotel. The beach was beautiful and no problems in getting sunbeds and towels, perhaps as not the peak season yet. So many pool areas to choose from too. There were some members of staff we would like to give a good mention for their services, warmth, friendliness and hospitality: Sweet, professional and polite Abdullah served us the best cocktails, 🥂swiftly moving around on roller blades (all day long!!) and made sure, every now and again, that we were ok and if we needed anything. Emad the food and beverage manager in Ivory Restaurant has amazing and professional customer service and really attended to us treating us more like VIP's. Amir in Pizza and Pasta section, again great professional customer service and ensured we had our food made according to our choices. Ahmed (green eyes) and Allah on the beach provided the towels and ensured our sunbeds were made up to perfection. Moataz prepared awesome drinks for us whilst on the beach. Guest relations staff and reception staff were great and dealt with and queries or issues we had ( mostly for mosquito spray requests for our room! )😁 Fatma and Mohammed Salah in the spa area gave us the best massages and treatments. We infact booked twice with them during our stay there. We booked a local uber to get to Soho Square one evening, and to The Old Market on another evening. I had pre-booked transfers to and from airport/hotel. Great value for our stay. Good clean hotel. Buzzing atmosphere and great music and entertainment. Some of these peopleI have mentioned in my review are in the photos below. They truly deserve a good mention for all their hospitality during our stay.
Supeeerrrrrr. Very good place for a holliday
In a hotel I liked everything. We did a high-quality cleaning by Hassan-H.K. the staff is very friendly, polite, responsive 👍
At first glance, the hotel's pools and gardens seem well-kept, but upon closer inspection, everything is outdated. In the heated pool, a massage bed was missing, leaving sharp concrete edges exposed. The rooms were neglected; while they were cleaned beautifully for the first three days, after that, even the toilet wasn't washed—only the beds were made, despite leaving tips every day. Drinks and juices were served in flimsy plastic cups. There was a lack of daytime entertainment, with only poolside yoga and some dancing. It was impossible to relax because someone was constantly trying to sell you something: spa treatments, quads, boat trips, cigarettes, or bracelets—both at the pools and on the beach. I felt like a walking dollar sign because everyone was constantly waiting for a tip. I do not recommend it for either children or adults.
The hotel, and especially soul animations are the best here! I have a very great time with them and my family
The worst vacation I've ever been on. The food was awful, the same every day. The people were unfriendly. By noon, there was no beer left at the beach bar, for example. The standard of the rooms wasn't 5 stars, only 3. The rooms were poorly cleaned. I will never go back there again.
The hotel is set in beautifully kept gardens right on the beach. What really made this holiday for us was the friendly and hardworking staff who greeted us with a smile every day - special shout out to Momen and the pool staff and also the staff in the Club Lounge. There is a much needed ongoing refurbishment of the rooms, but we enjoyed a very relaxing holiday and will be back.
This hotel is advertised as a five-star resort. In reality, it does not meet even basic five-star standards and, in our experience, would be generously rated as a three-star property at best.
From the moment we entered the room, it was clear the hotel is outdated and poorly maintained. Furniture is worn, neglected, and far below the level expected of a 5★ resort. Cleanliness in common areas and restaurants was inconsistent and often superficial.
Food & All Inclusive – Extremely Disappointing
The all-inclusive offering was unacceptable:
Food was repetitive, low quality, often dried out and appeared reused.
Fruit selection was limited to apples, pears, and oranges.
No seafood at all.
After midnight, alcohol was charged extra despite all-inclusive.
Beer was frequently unavailable at pool bars, restaurants, and lobby bar.
Premium beer (Heineken) was offered for $4 extra.
This is not what guests pay for when booking a “five-star all-inclusive resort.”
Poor Organization & Unprofessional Atmosphere
Guests were repeatedly told there were “no tables available” in the main restaurant while many tables remained empty. Staff frequently solicited tips in USD in a persistent and uncomfortable manner.
Entertainment was conducted almost exclusively in Russian, with minimal English support, making international guests feel excluded.
Serious Safety Concerns
The hotel grounds resemble an unfinished construction site. Walkways are filled with rubble, broken paving slabs, and cement bags. There is no proper separation between construction zones and guest areas.
Most concerning:
Our son was injured on a damaged playground slide. The structure was defective and unsafe. We reported the incident immediately. The response was dismissive and delayed. Only after repeated intervention over two days was the area blocked off — using a sunbed and a “wet floor” sign. Completely inadequate for a structural safety hazard.
After the injury, our child was in pain and too frightened to use any attractions for the rest of the holiday. This ruined our family stay.
Final Verdict
This property should not market itself as five-star.
The infrastructure is outdated, food quality is poor, organization is chaotic, safety standards are questionable, and the overall guest experience is far below expectations.
Families with children should think very carefully before booking.
1★ – Not recommended.
It was a wonderful vacation with two children. Varied, delicious food (chicken, meat, fish, seafood, fresh and grilled vegetables, sweets…), clean territory, polite staff. The beach is clean, there are a lot of sunbeds. Entrance to the sea on the sand from the beach, where it is quite shallow, which is safe for children to swim. For adults, there is a convenient entrance from the pontoon to swim with fish. It's a pity that the pool with children's slides is not heated - it's cold to swim in it in winter, but I really wanted to)) Some of the rooms are in the process of reinnovation, some have already been updated. Special thanks to Osama, who surprised us with daily towel sculptures, kept the room clean and supported a positive attitude and good mood!
What a holiday. Some of the staff here work extremely hard to make your holiday even more special. The location was great and having it's own beach was a bonus. The food varied daily to give you something different. I would like to personally thank Moaman and his pool team for continually making us comfortable and making us laugh daily. This guy knows how to please people and is such a nice person, was sad to say good bye to be honest.
Marked down by a star die to the Fish a la carte restaurant. We pre ordered lobster 2 days before our booking to find we were given a fob off dish. When confronted the waiter lied and said it was my fault even though the choice was on the restaurant booking form, he then said he had no lobster anyway. Also on arrival the receptionist was very rude and shouting at us for taking our suit case into reception, he also did not tell us about the upgrade package for £120 which is certainly worth while doing but we missed out as not told.
Like I say though the waiters on the Pool bar and Lobby bar were great- such nice amazing people. And of course thank you so much Moaman ! I'll be coming back just to see you my friend!
A very nice hotel with a cozy atmosphere. The staff is wonderful, attentive, and responsive, always ready to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Special thanks to Mahmud for the magnificent decor in room 1721 – it was very pleasant and created a special atmosphere!
The room was always clean, everything was neat, and every detail was thought of. We have only positive impressions!
Regency Plaza Aqua Park & Spa, although advertised as a five-star resort with a water park and SPA in Sharm El Sheikh, in our opinion deserves no more than three stars. Our family’s stay was disappointing from start to finish. Upon entering the room, it was immediately clear that the standard of the interiors was far below what one would expect from a five-star hotel – furniture was outdated, worn, and neglected, and the overall décor gave the impression of a much lower-category property.
Cleanliness throughout the hotel left much to be desired. In the common areas, corridors, and restaurants, we noticed a lack of order, and cleaning appeared inconsistent and superficial. The all-inclusive food was monotonous, low quality, and often watered down. It fell far short of what is expected from a five-star resort in terms of taste and variety. The hotel Wi-Fi was weak or practically unusable, which made it difficult to stay connected or plan daily activities.
Access to attractions, including the water park, was very limited – many facilities were either unavailable or operating at a reduced capacity, which significantly reduced the comfort of our stay. Hotel staff appeared unmotivated and disengaged – communication was difficult, and requests for assistance were often ignored or delayed. In addition, there were instances where extra charges were applied despite having purchased an all-inclusive package, which left us feeling frustrated and unfairly treated.
Perhaps most disappointing was that entertainment and activities were conducted almost exclusively in Russian. For our family, this created a feeling of exclusion – the resort clearly does not cater to European guests, and the lack of English or other widely spoken language support significantly reduced the enjoyment and accessibility of activities.
In summary, Regency Plaza Aqua Park & Spa in practice fails to meet five-star standards. Our family was extremely disappointed: the hotel is outdated, insufficiently cleaned, offers poor food and drinks, limited attractions, practically non-functioning Wi-Fi, and the staff is unhelpful. The overall experience left us frustrated and dissatisfied – in our opinion, this is a hotel that at most deserves three stars.
lovely hotel to stay was always clean lovely beach and pools the rooms was always nice and clean.
staff was very welcoming and was always lovely to speak to
the pool staff were very welcoming and would always love to interact with everyone making sure they was all okay i would like to say a massive thank
you to momen and vedy for making me and my family feel welcome at the pool and always had good conversations with us always making sure we was okay. they made our holiday much more enjoyable thank you.
thank you to all staff here for their hard work.
The location and weather were great as were the staff around the pool. Maher and Ahmed made sure we were looked after around the pool and Mena was great in the Mexican restaurant. These people made the holiday very special. On the down side the food was poor and frequently cold in the buffet restaurant and the staff on reception less than helpful. Wine was not included in the all inclusive except at dinner which was very disappointing for me as a wine drinker ( this was not made clear before travel). My wife was served ouzo instead of vodka but this had come from a vodka bottle?? The bar frequently ran out of ice and tonic and even beer. The worst part was that the fire alarms in the accommodation frequently sounded throughout the night indeed on one night went off 13 times. This is a major safety issue as most people eventually ignored the alarm so if there was a fire ther would have been a problem. So to sum up our holiday was made special by the staff around the pool and pool restaurants, the rest was quite poor. I would not class this as a five star hotel.
