Regency Plaza Aqua Park & SPA

The location and weather were great as were the staff around the pool. Maher and Ahmed made sure we were looked after around the pool and Mena was great in the Mexican restaurant. These people made the holiday very special. On the down side the food was poor and frequently cold in the buffet restaurant and the staff on reception less than helpful. Wine was not included in the all inclusive except at dinner which was very disappointing for me as a wine drinker ( this was not made clear before travel). My wife was served ouzo instead of vodka but this had come from a vodka bottle?? The bar frequently ran out of ice and tonic and even beer. The worst part was that the fire alarms in the accommodation frequently sounded throughout the night indeed on one night went off 13 times. This is a major safety issue as most people eventually ignored the alarm so if there was a fire ther would have been a problem. So to sum up our holiday was made special by the staff around the pool and pool restaurants, the rest was quite poor. I would not class this as a five star hotel.

This holiday has been fab the pool staff moamen and Khaled were amazing with the children, they really made this holiday awesome.
Variety of food for all, only thing was the renovations that let this holiday down. We will be back bring English pounds with you , to get better deals here.

The room 1511 was dated and in need of refurbishment but was kept very clean by Mohammed. Everywhere in the hotel there a poor standard of maintenance. The staff were helpful but lacked professional training. The food was very good with a wide variety of options at each meal time. The waiters in the main restaurant were very friendly, along with the pizza and pasta chef. The Italian restaurant was really good both food and staff. The pool guy Jehad was very good. The management are rude and uncaring with the exception of Mr. Hossam who was helpful. The General Manager was unable to acknowledge guests and had a miserable attitude. Some activities for example the noisy go cart circuit right in front of the aqua park rooms and the rechargeable scooters for children right in front of the main restaurant in the evening were a H&S risk for the children and people accessing the restaurant. The reception area toilets were located in the shopping centre which was used by the sellers. They were often in need of cleaning. The pool toilets next to the Kids Club smelled of cigarettes smoke constantly as staff used for smoking during their shift. We are experienced travellers especially in Egypt and although we tried to be positive as much as possible and enjoy our 4 weeks at the hotel, we will never go back again. This hotel is NOT a 4star hotel. It has the potential to be this standard, but it has been neglected and the management let the guests and staff down.

Really enjoyed our stay here! gardens, pools, beach all beautiful , staff were amazing, so friendly and attentive. We upgraded when we got there as didn't like the room, moved to lovely room with sea view, very clean, tea and coffee, robes and slippers, no issues. Private beach, sea shallow but can walk to the end of the pier for deeper water. Kids trying to sell bracelets but were polite enough when we said we weren't interested. Camels up and down the beach all day, guys very friendly. Ate mainly in the Regency at the beach, food amazing, and staff brilliant, glass always full! A la cartes were OK, but Fish one was poor, didn't enjoy the fish or prawns, far nicer at the Regency. Regency bar has own pool table and amazing cocktails. Place is huge, didn't realise how big! Didn't use the Aqua park, but it looked great, and a bit more lively with aqua aerobics. Staff make this place...all amazing!

Everything about Regency Plaza is amazing, the hotel, the staff, the food and the beach. Romantica beach has lovely staff especially Ismile who always has a friendly face to make you feel welcome. There’s a professional kite school that offers windsurfing, paddle boards etc at very competitive prices.
I wouldn’t choose any other hotel to visit ❤️

Wow, what a difference a year makes. We were at this hotel this time last year and loved it so much we came back. DON'T make the same mistake. There are major building works going on so constant noise, I expect these works will go on well into the summer. The staff are all obviously unhappy and are not engaging. The service is rubbish, do it yourself or go without. They now have a 3 tier system of paying guests, we apparently are standard (bottum feeders) and we are feeling it. Having said that there are issues no one can escape. Public areas are grubby, old and unloved. The water feature running through the hotel grounds is filthy, it needs desperate attention. The beach is also split into 3 areas so standard paying guests get a much reduced slice and all the grotty broken sun beds. To be fair they were not good last year but we were told that they were due to be replaced during the summer. Food is poor, not to Europeans tastes. Of cause if your paying for a silver or gold band you have other eating options/restaurants. I've been holidaying in Egypt for more years than I count and have stayed in most the hotels in Nabq and have never felt the need to write a negative review to warn others off before.. a first for me.

Top Chef Mohamed Lebanese in the Oriental restaurant is a top notch chef. The best restaurant in the whole resort. Service is second to none. Mr Eheb the manager of the restaurant is also second to none, the customer service is the best you will get.
Couldn’t ask for a better experience and we would 100% recommend to everyone who stays at the resort.

Me and Nina had the most amazing time here for our first time in Egypt! Mohamed Lebanese was a fantastic top chef where we enjoyed an Oriental meal one evening! Amazing food and vibes. Very accommodating, thank you everyone as all of the staff were amazing. Keep up the good work 😁

Having visited Egypt twice a year for many years I was extremely disappointed in this hotel

1) it’s not a 5* by any standard, more of a 2/3*
3) Very run down, tired and dated, some of the grounds are like rubbish dumps!
4) We booked “ultra AI” not worth the additional money, you get….
Dated room, small pool area with bar, additional bar by lobby( drinks were slightly better, but food took over half an hour to arrive nothing like the menu) a restaurant on the beach and entry to the À la cart( as all other guests did)

Nothing is explained to you, have to down load the app, the restaurant you have to book, some you can use more than once, you really have to explore and find all the restaurants. Ate in the buffet ONCE it was like Butlins on steroids! The food was not hot, limited choices and just horrible.The Mexican and Oriental ( by aqua park) were better as was the Italian.
Drinks were absolutely awful,in thin plastic cups, no ice this is 5*?
Entertainment was absolutely shocking in the “amphitheater” which looked like a disused car park. Music played round the aqua park pool, sooo loud( think Euro trash from the 80s) the main poor much quieter and less hassle.
Room was very dated and not cleaned efficiently, would rather have tea and coffee replenished and room cleaned properly than towel elephants on the bed.
Staff were indifferent apart from a few and I mean a few, so different to what I have experienced before. Staff at reception were very unfriendly and unhelpful.
The beach has no reef, so no fish, sun beds are broken, rusty and need re painting.
WFI is terrible and if you download Indrive( like Über) you will pay about a 5th of what the lobby taxis charge.

Overall, if you want a cheap holiday and some sunshine with children this could be ok, but do not expect 5* experience , I would not return or recommend

checking in was very quick, and i upgraded to gold band, which gave me a better room on the beach, and the best restaurants/bars. The staff are the best here, always made sure i had everything i needed. Yes the rooms are dated, but they were always spotlessly cleaned every day. They always did some very interesting things on my bed daily with different funny things they made with towels. I went solo, but they were my entertainment. The entertainment was not good at all, so only watched one show. Anna from the VIP bar was an amazing lady, always made sure everthing was all ok in my room and my stay. Also in the VIP bar there was Wahid, cheeky funny lad, and Ahmed, we always had fun together. I really didnt want to leave, but i will be back ❤️

We had great time already looking for summer holiday here already restaurant was amazing have to be served by Ramy he’s brilliant Hussain also at the floret restaurant will give the 20 out of 10 was amazing food was brilliant !!! Regency Park Plaza, Sharm — Easily One of the Worst Hotels I’ve Ever Stayed In

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Regency Park Plaza was so consistently disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. This hotel is nowhere near the standard it advertises, and my stay was a long list of problems from the moment I arrived.

ROOMS — DIRTY, DATED, AND BADLY MAINTAINED

The room was the first red flag.

• It was outdated / damaged
• The bed was uncomfortable to the point I got sore shoulders and hips and the bed was stained
• The bathroom was unhygienic and dated
• Basic facilities didn’t work properly, including air con / fridge / shower]
• Housekeeping was consistent but completely missed the mark as did not refill the teas and coffees in the room and they don’t provide a spoon.

It genuinely felt like the room had been just thrown together before we arrived.

FOOD — POOR QUALITY & VERY LIMITED

The food was one of the biggest disappointments.

• Most dishes were bland / repetitive / cold / overcooked / undercooked
• The buffet selection was tiny and barely changed
• Hygiene was questionable — lukewarm or cold food
• I ended up unable to eat much in the hotel / relying on snacks which we had to pay for.

Saving grace was going out to restaurants away from the hotel.

If you’re expecting decent all‑inclusive food, you won’t find it here.

DRINKS — WATERED DOWN & UNAPPEALING

The drinks were just as bad.

• Cocktails tasted like syrup mixed with dirty water
• Soft drinks were flat / warm / from dirty dispensers
• Alcohol was so weak it was pointless - regardless of what you ordered it tasted identical by identical I’m talking pure ethanol
• Bar service was ok from a very select few people

The “all‑inclusive” drinks felt like a cost‑cutting exercise.

ENTERTAINMENT — BORING, DISORGANISED, AND LOW EFFORT

Day and Evenings were a struggle.

• The water park was a massive disaster, they only allowed entry for 2 hours in a morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
• The pools - you had to leave them at 4:30pm as they blew the whistle
• The sound system barely worked, the speakers seemed to be faulty
• There was no atmosphere or energy
• Every night felt like nothing was happening at all

If you’re hoping for lively entertainment, you’ll be disappointed.

ANIMATION TEAM — COMPLETELY UNENGAGED

The animation team was one of the weakest I’ve ever seen.

• They were unfriendly / uninterested / unprofessional
• Activities were cancelled or done half‑heartedly
• They barely interacted with guests
• No enthusiasm, no fun, no effort

It felt like they didn’t want to be there.

OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER

If you take kids - Ice cream at the pool is only available between 3-4pm only
WiFi across the resort - wasn’t complimentary as advertised expect to pay 10 Dollars upwards per device needed.
Flies have been a massive issue across the resort, making sunbathing a task
Birds - you will have the enjoyment of bird stealing your food regardless of where you eat.
All-inclusive pizza & pasta island not so all-inclusive you have 3 free 3 paid pizzas

OVERALL EXPERIENCE — A HOTEL THAT NEEDS SERIOUS IMPROVEMENT

Everything about this hotel felt neglected.

• Customer service was unhelpful / dismissive
• Facilities were broken / outdated / unsafe
• The atmosphere was dull and unwelcoming
• I couldn’t wait for the holiday to end

For anyone looking at upgrading to Regency Romance or Regency Royal - DO NOT BOTHER. You get the same food, drinks, rooms and entertainment

This is not a 5‑star experience by any stretch.

WOULD I RETURN? NEVER.

I would not stay here again and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are far better hotels in Sharm that actually deliver what they promise.

Amazing food in the Lebanese restaurant. Service from top chef Mohammed and mr hamdan both done a great job. Highly recommended!

This is our 3rd time to stay at regency plaza as usual the staff are amazing always helping when needed. Food i would say for us the Mexican and the oriental restaurant upstairs top chef mohamed was great. Chef kaleb from the Mexican got me some spicy chilli sauce as I love hot chilli he even brought it upstairs to me when I was dining at the oriental one. I think the buffet even for the royal bit needs more choices we upgraded when we arrived as we wanted more choices. Staff are lovely at the beach Royal restaurant but it does need more choices of food. We had food at the Royal pub it was great chef there is very good too. All staff at the Royal pub are good and god they have a lot of patience with rude guests i could not do that job. Room we had was nice our cleaner was very good kept it cleaned for us everyday. The main pool should be heated in the winter it would be better. Main man at the pool big shout out to him always good to us. Sara from the beauty salon very good I always go with her for my facial. Omar from the spa very nice man and the message package we got was very good and relaxing we went there twice I would recommend both beauty salon and spa. The new year eve party was nice but I think the food should have been organised better there was a queue but people kept pushing in and I was in that queue for nearly an hour I think there should be someone controlling this to ensure everyone respect each other. Some people took loads of plates of food and left a lot of food on the table which was a waste. All staff works very hard and always smiling trying to help this is what makes the hotel to us.

Mamdouh room cleaner was A+ ( room 1821) could not fault him .
However the hotel has grown very old and tired and in need of modernising as are many in the area . Very poor information on arrival to hotel guests as your just told to download their app which is crap. Buffet restaurants shocking but once you find out there are other restaurants hidden away ( which they don’t tell you ) you can eat just fine especially in the Mexican one which was superb.
Take rock shoes as you have to walk over rocks to get into sea from their beach and take your own spirits and stay away from their dark beer its rank.
Apart from that the usual Egypt sales tactics and once you stop tipping so does the service.
Tip to hotel-
Stop building new areas and get what’s built up to date first.

Great time at the regency gehad the sun bed man was brilliant every day. Never let us down with towels and a smile we will be back soon x

Restaurant was fabulous, top chef Mohamed Lebanese is brilliant and warm and lovely. Remhed was a good server! Food is lovely, Mohammed personally dished my food 😛
