Staying at Il San Pietro di Positano was truly one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for — every interaction was warm, thoughtful, and genuine.

Our room had absolutely stunning views from the balcony — the kind of view you can’t stop staring at, no matter the time of day. We enjoyed so many of the complimentary activities the hotel offers, including a cooking class that was such a fun and memorable experience. We also loved spending time by the pool, sipping Hugo spritzes, and simply taking in the peaceful beauty of the property.

Dinner at their Michelin-starred restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip — honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The setting, the service, and the food were all perfection. Walking through their gardens and seeing the fresh ingredients they grow and cook with made it feel even more special and meaningful.

Every corner of the property feels cared for and truly magical. It is luxurious in the most relaxed, authentic way. We left already talking about when we can come back — because we absolutely will.

From the literal millisecond we exited the car service and stepped onto the property to the moment we (very sadly!) drove away, this was by far the most glorious, magnificent, elegant, refined, warm stay of our combined age of 96 years. Pitch perfect in every single way.

From the moment we arrived, this hotel felt like paradise. Every aspect exceeded expectations—the service, the food, the atmosphere—everything was meticulous and executed with the highest level of care. The staff anticipates every need with such attention to detail that it creates a seamless, unforgettable experience.

Arriving at Il San Pietro by our private boat was an experience in itself — gliding up to the beach club, stepping onto the dock, and ascending by elevator to the lobby felt cinematic. It was one of those rare travel moments that takes your breath away and stays with you forever. We were greeted with such warmth and grace, It’s rare to find a place where elegance and heart intertwine so seamlessly, and Il San Pietro truly embodies that spirit.
The rooms were simply stunning — each view and every detail more beautiful than the last. Photos can only attempt to capture the magic; in person, it’s pure poetry in motion.
Dining at Zass and Carlino was a masterclass in warm, elegant hospitality. Every member of the team embodies professionalism and grace, perfectly paired with unforgettable cuisine, wine and views that awaken every sense.
One of our favorite memories was the boat ride to Amalfi suggested by the Concierge on the perfect weather day — an absolute core memory. While it was a challenge to even leave the hotel, the hotel’s boat transfers to and from Positano made each outing feel wrapped in the true Italian spirit — effortless, joyful, and deeply romantic.
We even extended our stay, unable to part with the beauty and warmth of this incredible place. When we couldn’t bring ourselves to leave, Lorenzo’s graciousness in extending our stay captured the very essence of Il San Pietro’s soul — hospitality elevated to an art form, gestures that perfectly embodied the spirit of Il San Pietro. The spirit continued with Andrea and team extended such thoughtful courtesies for our celebration with hand picked flowers from the hotels garden that made everything feel even more personal and unforgettable.
Il San Pietro isn’t just a hotel — it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience with extraordinary hospitality. Once you visit, you are forever changed... and you must return to the magic again and again.

Giving IL San Pietro the highest of praises. The words thank you are not enough. We got caught in a rainstorm after traveling to another town along the coast and the ferry system stopped travel back to Positano and therefore we were at a loss as to how the best way was to return to the hotel as it was somewhat late after dinner. Sarah, at the reception desk, was so helpful and had a car sent out to pick us up. Thank you so much Sarah as we thought possibly we were having to find a hotel in a different town or take the bus…if that was even possible. Thank You from the bottom of our hearts. Can’t say enough about the wonderful staff at IL San Pietro.

We spent 1 night in Il San Pietro and this was unforgettable experience. The property, the service and the view, we really liked it. And very special, the tennis court near the sea. If you want to visit the Amalfi coast, Il San Pietro must be on your list.

Oct 25 This is a premier hotel, always on every ‘World’s Best’ list. Year after year, it doesn’t disappoint. In fact it gets better. The property is the best in Positano. It sits just outside and delivers a premium view of Positano with its own beach club, spa, tennis court (sitting next to the ocean!) Italian lessons, live music, and daily excursions on their personal yacht which is stupendous. This year they have opened their in house store which exceeds expectations. Everything you need and want, with intricate personal details throughout. May have bought one of everything!
This family run, generation after generation, honestly couldn’t be better. The team here are so well acquainted with their guests and one another, they become instant family. We have been coming since 2017, traveled the world and stayed at luxurious properties, but end up always comparing them to the level of service and beauty found at ISP.
If you are planning on traveling to the majestic and grandeur of the Amalfi coast, you do have options of lovely places to stay, however, none will even come close to Il San Pietro. The location cannot be surpassed but the service and loveliness of the family here is unmatched. Truly untouchable.

We just finished our fourth visit to the Hotel Il San Pietro, and we find that it gets better and better with every visit. For us, we love the easy connections you can make with the staff team. Everyone is so nice and welcoming, and always available to answer a question, provide some advice on what to do/see, and just about anything else you need. We love Pasquale at the pool - I can't imagine being at the San Pietro and not spending time with Pasquale. We had lunch at Carlino's and two dinners at Zass. Each was delicious and we had a wonderful time talking with the staff about the meal and Positano. I am hesitant to call out anyone by name because the whole staff is wonderful - and, yet, I must say thank you to Mr. Andrea, Roberto, Alfredo and Giuliano for always making our time at the San Pietro feel so magical. We look forward to seeing you again next summer.

Of course, we must mention the hotel itself and the beauty of the location. It's simply off the charts. We often spend time just staring into space - taking in the water, the mountains, Positano and the hotel itself. The goal each year is to enjoy the hotel and all it has to offer and to also burn in those memories of how special the location is to us and many others. The Il San Pietro never disappoints.
