We had a lovely couple of days here, the staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble, they really looked after our family and Lola the Lab!

Booked a quadruple room for family wedding. Room in the old attic space therefore had fantastic views over the golf course and sea views to the side from the bedroom and bathroom. Bedroom and bathroom were clean, newly decorated and spacious. Beds weren’t the comfiest but it wasn’t a big deal.
Breakfast was included which was freshly cooked to order.
Staff members were all very friendly and there wasn’t enough they could do for you, from the reception staff to bar and restaurant staff, they made my whole family feel very welcome.
Yes, it’s a very old hotel and yes there are areas of the hotel that are dated and could do with some work but when it comes down to customers service and location it ticked all the boxes!

Quiet older property

The location of this property is unbeatable. Close to the ocean and an easy walk to downtown. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I liked the parking which had a cost but was very convenient. They need to do a bit of work on the place. There was some areas in the room that needed painting and plaster work. The shower and bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was very good.

Popped in Sunday evening, as non resident. The welcome and customer service was great. The food is good and highly recommend the fish and chips. All fairly priced including the alcohol but we missed the 10% service charge. But we were fed and welcomed with no booking.

Lovely hotel. It has a buzz and caters for every age. Great breakfast and bar food. Welcome was great. Easy car park. All good. We will return.

Disappointing, would not recommend if you want cleanliness.

First impressions are good, a fair bit or area to sit outside where you get the sun until late evening and a large bar area with pool table which i can imagine would be a cool/chill place to hang after been at Fistral beach.

As soon as you pass the reception the standard dramatically drops, dated decor, stained floor and walls. As for the rooms - honestly worth more like £50 per night, thats the only price i could see justifying the run down, unhygienic, battered rooms.

The room in detail - small, holes everywhere in the walls from old fittings, loads of scuff marks on the walls accumulated over years, pealing wall paper. The worst is the mould in the bathroom which is a genuine risk to health with the pours that black mould produces. You can see where the cleaners have attempted to wipe it off over and over again. Never actually tackling the underlying problem. Seriously doubt if the rooms would be fit for guests should a health inspector visit.

Have honestly stayed in the centre of london in nicer hotels for cheaper. The location is really good however do not let this be the sole reason for booking this place.

Fully expect a reply along the line of ‘we’re really sorry about this, its the next room to be renovated’ or ‘we have never seen the mould before’

Lovely staff very helpful. Would return again

Very enjoyable stay, great room with balcony overlooking the golf course and fistral. Loved the cornish breakfast. Nice bar inside and terrace outside. Very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.

We have just returned staying for 5 nights. We booked late so only the cozy room was available. Yes it was compact but it was super clean and had everything we needed. The location is perfect for Fistral and Newquay itself.
The breakfast was good and plentiful
We had dinner there twice. The mussels were Amazing, all the food was really good.
It was height of season and very busy but honestly did not feel it. It was relaxed and no way near as noisy as I expected. In fact it was quite peaceful.
Every staff member we interacted with were courteous, friendly and nothing was a problem or issue. Thanks guys for making us feel welcome.
So why not a 5..... just a couple of reasons really personal to us.
1. I would like a decent size bath towel.
2. Pillows were a bit too hard for what we prefer.
3. A few hooks to hang the wet towels.

I would definitely stay again

We went here for our last meal before leaving Newquay. I had never been before but had always noticed the place over previous years! I'm so glad we did go and have a look, VERY friendly staff and incredibly efficient service. The manager/owner was running around like there was no tomorrow and ensuring all guests were taken care of. The food was tasty and great value for money. Not to mention the seafront view from our table was to die for! Thank you (:

Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Good breakfast, great room and relaxing stay. We stayed in a triple room and there was plenty of room for us. Double bed was huge and very comfortable.

Booked this stay @ Oceanside few wks before stay & ended up speaking to a gentleman @ hotel reception after booking as taking dog so wanted to check details! He was pleased we rang as he could move us to a bigger room with dog excellent I thought. Checked in & realised we were put in a very small room 9x11, small d bed very uncomfortable also & en-suite of sorts ! The phrase couldn’t swing a cat was not a joke had to put suitcase in window only place, no other rooms left so couldn’t move us sadly, stayed 1 night only & got a refund next day ! Staff lovely !

The lady who checked us in wasnt very good she had a lot of attitude and was miserable, Hotel room is very nice and large , round the hotel going to the rooms need some repainting marks everywhere look’s tired, breakfast was really good , location was spot on for the beach and town center ..

Lovely independent hotel in a great location halfway between Fistral and Towan beaches. Great view over golf course to Fistral. Lovely big room suitable for 3 adults with plenty of storage space. Social areas very welcoming and great to have a pool table with teenagers.
Only issues were small concerns about bathroom - lack of blind on windows, screen round shower too small, etc but all fine and would not stop us visiting again.

An exceptional stay. Superb staff. I stayed with my teenage sons and puppy and the care and attention shown by staff was above and beyond.
The hotel might not have 5 stars or be deemed luxurious, but the comfort, friendliness and level of service, far surpasses many of the 5 star hotels I have visited. It was tailored to meet our needs perfectly! We will return!
