Ok, to many stairs!
Pros:

History of building.

No lift, my fault for not checking.
Bathroom tiny, shower curtain useless to stop water going on bathroom floor.

Impossible de dormir avant 2h00 du matin le samedi soir car soirée dans l'hôtel littéralement sous la fenêtre de ma chambre. Les autres soirs moins bruyant toutefois mais absolument pas calme. La chambre en face de la mienne était occupée par une sorte de clochard alcoolique qui mettait la musique en boucle toute nuit !!! Salles de bain communes sans équipements ni confort. Le tout étant vétuste. J'ai même passé une nuit ailleurs pendant mon séjour pour pouvoir faire une nuit correcte et me reposer un peu.

Loved our stay and we were Abe to store our bags after check out which we appreciated.
Pros:

Location is perfect if you don’t have transport . Loved the decor and young staff were beautiful

Cons:

I liked it all. Bar and restaurant on hand and staff helped with taking bags up stairs as no lift.

Pros:

Quaint bit of history, which serves Freemantle well. Staff went out of there way and were exceptional. Food was great but the historical atmosphere made the stay memorable.

Inexpensive Comfy Bed with a Good Restaurant and Rowdy Bar in the Heart of Downtown
Pros:

We love Fremantle and wanted to end our 3 months in Australia with a long stay downtown (8 nights). This place worked very well. Inexpensive, in the heart of restaurants and other bars downtown, short walk to the ferries and museums. Staff was wonderful, whether serving us in our room or in the bar/restaurant. Beds were firm and comfortable, each of us had a good pillow and a crap pillow. Responded very well to cleaning requests, no scheduled cleaning except on check out. Accommodations level were secured. Common use balcony to look over the beer garden behind the hotel. Food was surprisingly good. We'd do this place again.

Cons:

Bathroom was not very good. Skinny, door opened in and got in your way, drain in the floor could get a bit whiffy. Tiny shelf above a tiny sink for storing toiletries. The shower was bad - wide angle needle spray didn't deliver much water, water temperature was difficult to regulate and water went everywhere. We finally got good at sticking the shower curtain to the walls to keep it from dripping outside, but it was a pain. As they mention, Friday and Saturday nights this is a late night party place. Didn't bother us (they do supply ear plugs, but expect this, they are not kidding. Only place we stayed in Australia that didn't have a fridge in the room, the common fridge in the Tea room was quite small and people had crammed it full of stuff and left it when they checked out. They didn't manage throwing out old stuff very well.

Great location and value for money. A lovely older style building.

Cons:

As others had said, this is a busy pub so please be aware of the noise, especially if you stay on the weekend. They do provide earplugs.

It is very hard to get the staff to answer the phone. I tried more than 10 times from overseas but no one answer the phone calls. Feel frustrated.
