It rains a lot in Hilo - change the room decor and the window treaments to lighten things up.
Pros:

Good location. Bed was better than the one we had been sleeping on the week before in Kona but that isn't saying much. Good water pressure, and free parking is a plus.

Cons:

The rooms have a dorm room/jail vibe, with cinderblock walls and extremely low lighting. Not having AC wasn't an issue and it happened to be fairly cool the night we were there, but if we had needed to open the window, we would have had the EXTREMELY bright parking lot lights from the hotel next door shining in our room all night, not to mention no real privacy, as we were on the lowest floor, where anyone walking in the parking lot (or in a facing room) would have been looking right in our room. We had to take the lampshade off the one bedside lamp in order to have any decent light for reading - not sure why there are not 2 bedside table lamps as the room is big enough. Everything was clean but definitely on the grim side as far as decor goes. Blinds would be way better than the dark curtains for dealing with letting in the breeze. There is also no deadbolt or security lock on the room door, and anyone can walk right into the hotel without the front desk being aware of it. Having a security guard there did not make us feel any better about the situation. But apparently paying that person is cheaper than making all the guest room doors more secure? Hmm.

Cons:

Lärm von ausserhalb (wahrscheinlich durch A/C) war störend. WLAN-Abdeckung in den Zimmern ungenügend.

毎日ハウスクリーニングが入り、使った食器も洗ってくれる

Cons:

ランドリーサービスが無く(部屋にランドリー用の袋などが無かった)、長期滞在には向かないかも

Nagyon jó lokáció, közzel a reptérhez, egy gyönyörű partszakaszon. Elérhető a tömegközlekedés is.

Cons:

Nincs jól megszervezve a korai kijelentkezés. A medencénél nem adnak külön törölközőt.

An excellent budget option. No frills, but very clean and had all I needed.
Pros:

Rooms were clean! I was a little hesitant walking up but inside was very clean wherever you looked. It’s an older building without any frills but it provided great value and was perfect for my needs. Being right on the water had a nice sea breeze and I had no problems with the lack of air conditioning (I also cannot sleep if my room is warm in anyway so trust me when I say the lack of A/C isn’t a real concern). Plenty of fresh towels provided. Cell service was good enough in the room for my carrier, Verizon. I cannot speak on other carriers. Only the lobby has WiFi.

Cons:

Nothing I didn’t like. I didn’t spend much time in the room itself as I was out exploring the island.

It was bad.
Pros:

The hotel has a good view of the bay and towering Banyan trees right in front. The staff were very polite and friendly.

Cons:

The hotel had emailed me once I had booked about no elevator and air conditioner. But I was in Hilo for the first time and did not expect it to be this hot. I did not get any sleep at night with a mildly rotating fan and mosquitoes all over. Also struggled to drag my baby's stroller up the stairs without any elevator.

The room price was good, but the extra fees and taxes raised the rate a lot. Very friendly staff and great location. And
