Lovely harbour location
Pros:

If you want to be right where it’s all happening in Padstow, this is the place to stay. It was our second time in Padstow, which we have totally fallen for and we were not disappointed. The staff really make this place special. Nothing is too much trouble and from giving detailed tips on the best walks and beauty spots to offering us bespoke vegetarian breakfast options, they were so kind and genuine. Being seasoned hotel goers, we know that these things make all the difference. The room had a harbour view, a nice modern bathroom and there was live music in the evening. Breakfast was excellent and Judging by the amount of daytime customers eating and drinking in this historic building, they are definitely getting things right! We have stayed in several St Austell Brewery properties and this is one of our favourites now.
We very much recommend this as part of a Padstow experience!

A Birthday Break Done Right
Pros:

We were in Padstow celebrating my partner’s birthday and had such a lovely stay. From the moment we arrived, Ellie (the general manager) made us feel really welcome. She let us know we’d been upgraded and even took the time to chat about what we had planned while we were there, which was a really nice touch.

Our room overlooked the quayside and was spacious, spotless, and had a great little seating area. The bed was super comfy and the shower room was just as clean and fresh.

Because we were there for a birthday, they completely surprised us — by the time we’d grabbed our bags from the car and got back up to the room, there was a bottle of Prosecco and a birthday card waiting on the coffee table. Such a thoughtful gesture.

Breakfast was included and we can absolutely recommend the full English — it was spot on. Every member of staff we met was friendly, polite and professional.

All in all, it was a short but very sweet stay — we’d happily go back.

The weather- just a little wet.

Perfect location in the heart of Padstow's old town.
Pros:

Excellent location with great view over harbour and close proximity to Padstow's wonderful restaurants. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and well priced, right opposite the hotel.

Cons:

I understand that whole hotel is going to be completely renovated in the next year, so minor niggles about radiators being a little bit noisy will probably date fairly soon.

Super host, superb location, can’t fault it!
Pros:

Very warm welcome from Ellie and the team! The Barn is a lovely large space for a family of five, been visiting Padstow for almost 20 years and it’s the best location we have stayed at, will be back later in the year!

Overall pleasant but I wouldn’t return because of fire issue as mentioned above

Bed was comfortable . Dining areas and bar attractive . Staff helpful efficient pleasant . Went above and beyond to find me when I left my phone behind . Good location

Cons:

Bathroom needs updating , lighting poor . The place is like a warren and I wouldn’t feel safe if there was a fire . Our room was above bar, a bit noisy .

Padstow’s gem.
Pros:

My wife and I stayed in the Old Custom House, Padstow on 4/2/2026. We had a lovely clean, well stocked ( including a coffee machine)room with fantastic views of the harbour and estuary.
We had a very tasty evening meal and there was plenty to choose from the menu. The breakfast was very welcoming and I was delighted to have the hogs pudding included.
The staff were very friendly and helpful ( especially Amy on reception).
We will definitely stay here again.

Outstanding experience
Pros:

We really had a fantastic experience thanks to Kim. She looked after us so well from start to finish and made excellent recommendations for both food and drinks. We loved everything she suggested. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Kim really made our visit special. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic
Pros:

Kim was absolutely fantastic From the moment we arrived, she was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. She knew the menu very well so she was able to make great recommendations, she always checked in at just the just the right time without being intrusive. Drinks and food came out quickly and were fantastic she made the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. Excellent service like this really makes a visit special thanks, Kim.
