Exceptional stay! Gorgeous grounds, perfect for acclimatizing.
Pros:

Tierra Viva Ollantaytambo was easily one of our favorite stays in Peru. We spent two nights here before heading to Machu Picchu. The room was extremely comfortable, and the property's terraced gardens with separate buildings are stunning. Between the flowering plants and the constant visit from local hummingbirds, the garden platforms were ideal for birding while adjusting to the altitude. They also have a very cozy living room area with plenty of comfortable seating.

The restaurant is great. Breakfast was varied and included options like soy milk, and dinner both nights offered some nice vegetarian and vegan dishes. Staff was welcoming and the fast, reasonably priced laundry service was a great bonus. Would definitely stay here again!

Oasis of calm
Pros:

You are entering an oasis of calm just steps from the train station. Very clean and apparently recently renovated it’s a good option if you have an early train to Machu Picchu, you can walk there (5min) and avoid the very busy traffic of the street.

Cons:

Welcoming staff albeit a bit messy check in but nothing to get worried about

Uma bela surpresa
Pros:

Tudo!! É um paraíso, com jardins maravilhosos e recantos para descansar e aproveitar a paisagem. Os quartos são espaçosos, os funcionários muito simpáticos e atenciosos.

Great location and views with very helpful staff.
Pros:

Beautiful setting with mountains around. Good breakfast. Easy walk to train station.

Cons:

Being near the station is good but you do hear the train noise and train horns a bit.

Buena ubicación y personal amable! Practico si tomas el tren pero no mas de una noche. El precio no me parecio razonable para la calidad de los cuartos.

Cons:

El alojamiento es bastante antiguo y no han hecho claramente ningun tipo de esfuerzo por remodelar el lugar. Parece que se quedo en el 2000. La caja fuerte en la habitación no funcionaba. La ducha no estaba en condiciones optimas. Cuando pagas 150 dolares la noche por lo menos esperas algo ok no una cortina de plastico descuidada…Ademas, no tocaron la puerta cuando ingresaron a la habitación a las 9:30am y yo estaba cambiandome de ropa. Resultando en una situación incomoda. En general, no se si recomendaria el hotel.

Comfortable lodge style accommodations with fantastic food.
Pros:

Food was some of the best I had in Peru. Comforting and delicious. Coffee was also great and also the best drip coffee I had in 10 days in Peru. Would have stayed an additional two nights if I had known how nice the place was.

Cons:

Honestly can’t think of anything. Was great.

Little gem in the city
Pros:

Beutiful gardens and views, close to city center, lovely breakfast, helpful staff. Just loved it!

Localização (muito perto da estação de trem), charme e beleza do espaço e instalações. Funcionários atenciosos.

Cons:

As janelas do quarto não tem venezianas ou cortina black out. O banheiro é bastante antigo, o espaço do banho não tem box de vidro e sim cortina plástica. O café da manhã é OK, mas poderia ser mais caprichado com mais variedade e sabor.
