Cons:

Spa staff were very rude not only to me but also to my girl friend completely separately.

Our room wasn’t cleaned until 7pm one evening.

The floors and rugs are stained.

Ultra modern not to my taste
Pros:

This ultra modern hotel is located in two buildings on other side of Spuistraat. One of the buildings is a converted telephone exchange the other a converted Bank the former comprises a small reception area with two armchairs with bedrooms above. The top floor comprises the hotel bar, a small roof top swimming pool and a restaurant operated by a third-party where breakfast is taken. The Bank now houses the hotel boutique, concierge desk, spa, bedrooms and a fine dinning restaurant.

We stayed in a premier suite which is the largest available at the cost of €800 per night the room is approximately 400 ft.² with a very large window overlooking the street below


The staff are young, energetic and well meaning but lack old world charm.

Cons:

On arrival at the hotel our toilet was blocked and took a couple of hours to fix. The room safe did not work and it took many hours for the hotel to resolve whilst we took our valuables with us for dinner.

The WC and shower are both small windowless cubicles, which might be a problem to anyone suffering from claustrophobia. The bathroom sink is located in the room itself behind the bed.

The shower is ill designed as water runs down the inside of the door onto the floor outside and under the floor mat, on leaving the shower one morning , my foot gave away on the wet foot and I came crashing to the floor, causing severe cuts and bruises to my arms and a cracked vertebra An anti slip mat was subsequently installed.

Cons:

The staff were quite unhelpful and not knowledgeable about amenities and services. They did not know if they had a babysit service - did not respond to calls or emails. For a hotel of this price they served powdered eggs on the buffet which was surprising.

Frühstück und Restaurant sind wirklich empfehlenswert.

Cons:

Im Großen und Ganzen gut. Check in war eher mühsam. Personal war bemüht. Die Zimmer sind schon sehr abgewohnt. Hatten in einem von 5 Zimmern einmal kein Warmwasser, in einem anderen Zimmer konnte man Dusche nicht auf Handdusche umstellen, zwei waren Zimmer sehr einsichtig von Restaurant aus.

Great city. Worst hotel ever
Pros:

The hotel is bankrupt in serious debt to the landlord it’s an ongoing court case. They have no Apple Pay, can’t take credit cards manually. Refuse to assist clients. Not enough employees. The whole place is depressed and the employees told me they all looking to leave this hotel. I couldn’t believe how this hotel has dropped in standards. Oh and asking clients to get cash from atm around Amsterdam so can give them cash rather then tapping your card. (You can’t tap) apple doesn’t want to work with them

Cons:

Seriously BAD. Almost everything but mostly the employees lack of knowledge and unwillingness to assist. Also not accepting Apple Pay and sending clients to different atm machines around Amsterdam was a shocker
