The hotel is bankrupt in serious debt to the landlord it’s an ongoing court case. They have no Apple Pay, can’t take credit cards manually. Refuse to assist clients. Not enough employees. The whole place is depressed and the employees told me they all looking to leave this hotel. I couldn’t believe how this hotel has dropped in standards. Oh and asking clients to get cash from atm around Amsterdam so can give them cash rather then tapping your card. (You can’t tap) apple doesn’t want to work with them
Seriously BAD. Almost everything but mostly the employees lack of knowledge and unwillingness to assist. Also not accepting Apple Pay and sending clients to different atm machines around Amsterdam was a shocker

The hotel benefits from a great central location, which is probably its strongest selling point. However, the rooms are showing their age and feel a little dated and worn around the edges.
My biggest frustrations were around payment. The hotel does not accept Apple Pay, which was inconvenient. More importantly, be very aware of their card policy – even if you have paid in full in advance, they charge €200 per night directly to your debit card. This is not a standard pre-authorisation hold; it is an actual transaction, meaning you will be hit with a currency conversion charge from your bank. When I raised this with the hotel, they refused to refund the charge.
This feels like a very poor and somewhat misleading practice that caught me completely off guard. I would strongly recommend using a credit card with no foreign transaction fees if you do choose to stay here, and make sure you are fully aware of their payment terms before booking.
A decent enough location, but the payment experience left a sour taste.
Great hotel overall. Amazing spa with steam bath, pool, hit tub and dry sauna and cool down dip.
