Zorbas Hotel - Hostel

The hotel was close to the center, but in a very bad area. Not really safe to walk at night. Anyway, I think they hosted refugees which always were sitting on the stairs or entrance. Children screaming into the late hours. They put me in the wrong room, in a mixed instead of female only. Luckily only the last night male guests arrived. Wouldn't book again

Such a great place! People from different countries that are extremely friendly and make you feel like you are in one big family.

When I arrived there, the reception told me that there is a bed for me, but I need to move a room to room during the stay because many guests are large groups like families. As a result, they offered to switch the hostel near them, so I didn't really get a service from them. But they arranged a taxi to go to the other hostel. That was nice.

I spent 1 night in a 4 bed dorm.
Location is good, out of the city center, but just 1 minute walk from the metro station, and 20 minutes walk to the main attractions. Kind, nice and helpful staff, easy and quick. check in, comfortable bed.
Bathroom was not the best, but acceptable.
It was a really cheap place, so for that price for me was ok.
Specially recommend for backpackers, or/and cheap travellers.

Yes, the place is a bit run down, but it attracts a great range of travellers and their company makes up for the deficiencies. Also, it is great value for money.

Near to city center and air condition. The hotel is very nice and clean

I really loved my stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful from the word go and it was one of the cleanest places I’ve stayed.

There was a kitchen area with a fridge and I think some cooking facilities too.

The bunks gave you enough room to sit up without hitting your head and the shower was sooooo good. The room was just the right size and had enough space for you to sit and talk too. Made some good mates here.

Would improve security by having room keys and lock boxes. Would also include curtains around the beds.

Уютный старенький отельчик. Находится в тихом месте рядом с метро. Дружелюбный и отзывчивый персонал готовый прийти вам на помощь. Все чисто. Один недостаток в моей комнате L очень скрипели двери. Чувствовал себя преступником когда соседи спали. Приятная веранда где можно выпить кофе.

Not very helpful to get around or suggest things to do. Small dorm rooms and tiny bathroom. Had to cancel and didnt get a refund. One very rude employee...

We made the decision to visit Athens at the last minute so there were very few options for hotels. Zorbas is located 1 block from the Victoria metro station, which was very convenient for getting to/from the airport and to all the sites at Acropolis and Syntagma. There are a few sketchy characters in the area, but overall the neighborbood was decent. The hotel is in an older building so the condition is just okay. We had a triple room with private bath and the bathroom was recently renovated. Beds were decent and the room was spacious. Main problem was the security in the room. There were two windows out the back that had no lock and someone could have easily entered from a fire escape staircase. The door itself also had a cheap lock. We were so worried about our things when we left that we locked our bags together and barricaded the door shut. We didn't expect much for the price we paid, but security is a must in any hotel room.
