Marine View Hotel

We stayed at the Marine view for 10 nights. First impressions the hotel seemed a bit tired and in need of some TLC, however the staff were accommodating and helpful and the hotel was in a good location with easy access to the main attractions. The area may seem a little sketchy at first but we had no issues walking about.
The restaurant served very nice food the price was inline with other prices in the area.
The pool area was quiet and we often felt it was our own private pool,
Overall a good experience, I would recommend it for travellers on a budget or single travellers who want to stay central to the action.

A few recommendations I would politely request are;
1. The rooms have a bin, there was only one in the bathroom.
2.Kettle with cups
3. Iron
4.regular fresh towels

None of the equipment in the room works - TV, WiFi bathroom light. All not working. :-(

The staff at The Marine View Hotel has done an excellent job in creating a positive and memorable environment for me to become a regular guest over the years whenever I visit Jamaica. I think “ok” is the best word to describe it. If you have activities planned in Ocho Rios it’s an ok place to sleep.

The staff was friendly and it was close to the town. My room was cleaned everyday. The amenities was very limited and the dining was poor.

It was very good I enjoy myself the only thing I didn’t like was the wasn’t open at night time

Convenient location for everything. Good price. Water pressure is very low. AC units are ok. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall for the price it is a nice place

The staff was very professional, the receptionist lady along with yves security guard who worked that night. She was very helpful

Rooms are clean and spacious. The property itself needs some work.

Enjoyed my visit and had no issues. Room and pool clean. Quiet. For the money was great and will return. If you want fancy go to the resorts... If you want nice ppl and are on a budget this is fine! Common sense keeps you safe.

No internet in the room. No tour informations. Very simple and local hotel.

3 different internet connections and 2 of the three SAY that they DO NOT WORK by saying NO INTERNET once connected, the water ran black out of the bathroom faucet, the A/C was nothing more than a corner cooler, ....... furthermore the refrigerator had to be plugged in to cool for an hour or more to be usable as well as the TV and cable box, not to mention the late in to the night BOOM boxing that thumped through the building till what seemed like 5am.

Unsure about how confirm dates, unsure about what rooms are open. they were pretty much unsure about everything.

The hotel could use a up grade in a the lobby and a face lift

Evwry morning waking up to the ocean view has me in awh.... i enjoyed the pool and the bar behind the hotel that was connected my husband and i went wvery night before bed. The location was very close to the market place ans quite a few restaurants.... long walks the marketplace kind of reminded me of NEW ORLEANS AT TIMES so it felt like home really

Old a/c. Too hot. Too far from downtown.

Unprofessional and rude manager. Very loud music and base until 3 am both nights! No chance to sleep. No security guard. Gate stayed open at night. No water at times. No wifi in room. Toilet broke. Ants in the bathroom. The neighborhood is scatchy and scary and there is not much to do within walking distance. Locals harass you on the premesis.

i went to check in at the marine view they told me that they did,nt have a reservation for me , my friend also make a reservation an they did,nt have one for her either we rent a room for the night because they where the cheapest what we see online the place is noting like that terrible

The water pressure was terrible and there was no hot water.

This hotel is a little worn but it was perfect for us. We wanted to explore downtown Ocho Rios and this was a good choice. I did laundry in our bathtub and hung the clothes out on the deck and didn't feel that the hotel would mind. Some people in our group enjoyed visiting with other travelers in the lobby area downstairs. The Wifi worked best in that area as well.

The breakfasts were wonderful and served very quickly after we ordered. I liked that they served Jamaican breakfasts but I think they may have served other cuisine as well. The neighborhoods around this hotel seemed a little questionable so I didn't feel that I should leave valuables in the hotel. However, I enjoyed the short walk to the market area and felt reasonably safe in the blocks surrounding the hotel. I wouldn't recommend wandering around in the dark alone but I felt safe in a group.
