From the start, the staff was attentive and friendly. The concierge, Spud Chang, took special care to assist us with grace and skill. Lucas at the front desk helped with securing our return stay when rooms were nearly sold out. Lucas also went to the local market to get us tickets to the National Theater for the popular Tianyao Lyu performance.
The East End bar has a fantastic custom cocktail list. The art of mixology is taken to the next level. We enjoyed meeting Kristy and her suggestions for local food. We visited each night and never had a bad drink. At breakfast, Linda remembered our order with a smile.
We stayed in a Premier room with a firm and comfortable King bed. It was complete with Nespresso coffee maker, safe, large TV, sofa with coffee table and a separate desk. Outlets were plentiful by the desk and a double gang outlet next to each side of the bed (although located low near the floor, which could have been designed to be more convenient.) The shower had excellent water pressure and the water quality and flavor was excellent.
The location is a couple minutes walk from a metro station with 2 lines (Bannan and Wenhu).
The neighborhood has a good restaurant, bar and coffee scene. (Master Jim beef noodles, Regular Taipei coffee, Double Check cocktails with interesting music on an excellent sound system.)
BTW, the government has banned small plastic amenities so the hotel has installed high quality refillable shampoo, etc. Shower caps are not supplied; bathrobes are stocked.
We didn't have breakfast.
We feel for that for the prize of the room, breakfast should be included.
Love the room very modern chic vibe. Bathroom is awesome.
Staff are friendly, room is clean, complementary snacks, and drinks in the room. Location is convenient with lots of shops right when you walk out.
I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Proverbs Taipei.
The room (deluxe king) was great. The size is spacious for central Taipei. The floor to ceiling windows let in a lot of light. There are plenty of electrical outside for plugging in devices, and plenty of desk space if you need to do any work. Wifi was fast and reliable. The shower pressure was great, and the bathtub was huge. The bed was comfortable, and I really liked how quiet the room was. There was a Nespresso machine with capsules as well a hot water pot with some premium tea bags.
The location is fantastic. There are tons of bars and restaurants right outside the door. A branch of the Sogo Department Store and a Carrefour Express supermarket are a couple of blocks away.
On the down side, although I booked through the Chase Edit Collection and have Marriott Bonvoy elite status, I did not get a room upgrade and only got late checkout until 1:00pm. The welcome gift was an underwhelming bottle of lambrusco. The biggest negative was the lack of a gym although they offered a yoga mat for the room.
Overall, the pluses greatly outweighed the minuses. I would definitely stay again.
Great location, rooms and staff. Highly recommended! Location is central and access to MRT is easy, amenities are great.
整體氛圍高雅大方,地點絕佳,早餐服務也非常周到。
wonderful stay at Hotel Proverb, with its exquisite, stately, quiet vibes; the room was very sizable for Taipei, with a great tub (& bath salts).
Spacious room, great dining options, friendly staff, fantastic location near Zhongxiao Fuxing.
Hotel Proverbs: hidden gem in the heart of Taipei. Walking distance to major subway line. Service: utmost attention to detail. My wife and I were amazed by the sundown service. Beautiful interior design. Best quality of sleep I’ve ever had. We will come back again.
Great hotel with amazing food. Great sleep. Had a nice chat in the bar with great atmosphere. The service was great, the style really brings back old luxury feel.
Good service. Really nice rooms and beds. It’s in a really good location, close to MRT with lots of good local foods nearby.
I am writing this review to highlight several unacceptable issues encountered during my stay.
1. Lack of Prior Notice About Roadworks
The road construction directly in front of the hotel was not communicated in advance. The entrance was extremely difficult to locate, and upon arrival with two large suitcases, I did not receive any assistance from the staff.
2. Unacceptable Room Cleanliness
The room was noticeably dirty, with clear signs of insufficient housekeeping. Stains and hair were present throughout the space. As shown in the attached photo, the level of cleanliness was far below acceptable standards.
3. Incentivized Positive Reviews
The hotel offered gifts in exchange for positive reviews, which raises concerns about the credibility of many high ratings. This practice is inappropriate and misleading for future guests.
4. Lowest Value Among Similar-Priced Hotels
During my trip to Taipei, I stayed at three hotels within a similar price range. This property was by far the weakest in overall quality and presented the poorest value for money.
I recommend exercising caution when considering this hotel.
Great location with amazing service. The accommodations are stylish and luxurious. The staff has been very attentive and flexible with our needs. Would stay here again.
