Hotel Proverbs is a well situated and high-quality place to stay. The staff and service is top notch and left nothing to be desired for us.

The location really can’t be beat, the area has hundreds of restaurants, pubs, shops and convenience stores within walking distance. It’s a very fun, bright, and active area for a tourist stay. Anything you need is within arm’s reach and the metro (brown and blue connection) is a 3-minute walk through the air-conditioned SOGO shopping center. For a general tourist stay, like ours, these lines offered easy access to anything we wanted to see within a simple connection or two and a few stops. Uber and taxi was also easy, air conditioned, and affordable for anywhere we wanted to go.

Hotel itself is comparable to any 4-star hotel in the US. The onsite dinning is terrific; the 3rd floor bar is fun place to have a beer and get acclimated after a long day of travel. The pool offers exceptional views and a nice place to hang out.

The room (premium 10th floor) was terrific and offered everything you’d expect. If you drink a lot of coffee the third floor has a public area to grab extra coffee and bottled water. All of the furnishings in the room are top quality. The top floors offer a slight view of Taipei 101, but a lot windows are covered by a grate that offers privacy.

Only knit: The hallways are extremely dark, should be a little brighter and just a slight brightness increase would help.

Overall, it’s a great place to stay and the service is unbeatable. I never opened a door, was escorted to the lobby with an umbrella in the rain when I arrived, etc. Just a super level of staff caring. Its a member of the MArriott family but feels small and personal - superb vibe.

Beautiful, centrally located in a bustling commercial corridor (yet rooms are totally silent with black out curtains and beds are divine!). They make up the sofa as a bed for kids for a small and reasonable fee. Shower was one of the best we’ve ever experienced. Rooftop pool had incredible views and water was just the right temp. Service was exemplary as well. Zero notes

The staff went over and above to make our stay comfortable. Spud (the concierge) was an absolute pleasure and made our stay so memorable! The hotel is wonderful and we will absolutely come back again

The hotel was very quaint and clean, with a 70s interior design look, mustard chairs and wood covered walls, so close to many things and Tainan may have been the most charming city i have visited in my life, vey low key cool and just so much to see and do and the people are tremendously warm and polite.

The hotel room was large and the hotel was in an amazing location, a short walk from the train station and some of the best bars and restaurants in the city.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff was totally amazing especially Spud. The breakfast was fresh and made to order. The service at the restaurant was exceptional. We ate lunch at the restaurant several times it was delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer then 2 nights.

The thing that stands out the most about Proverbs is its uniqueness. This is not your cookie cutter hotel. The hotel is an industrial style building in a vibrant neighbourhood. The hotel is just steps from shops, restaurants, and the metro.
The halls of the Proverb are a bit dark. And it is a bit odd to open the door to your room and walk straight into the bathroom. But the rooms themselves are quite large and comfortable. You do not hear the street noise. Supposedly construction was going on in the building next door while we were there but we did not hear it. We found the bed to be a bit hard for our tastes.
Breakfast is ordered from a set menu. The food was very good .We especially enjoyed their unique take on a croque monsieur. At certain times the wait staff was overrun The bar area is not to be missed. Not only was the bar a cozy place to unwind after a day of sightseeing, but the signature cocktails were an absolute delight. The cocktails were innovative in presentation and taste. They really were the highlights of our stay.
