perhaps a decent student hostel
Pros:

Perhaps not bad for its price, however it is more like a student hostel, not a hotel.
One should keep in mind that that place is best for one nightstand, and perhaps without breakfast.

One should also consider taking all the belongings, starting from kitchenware in case you will decide to include breakfast.

You should be ready for the absence of paper towels, very simple restrooms and the only shower for the whole corridor.
The sound isolation is poor - one can hear the voices from the opposite rooms.

So, beware of the high season! :))

Otherwise, if you like to see the historical part of the city with all its former beauty and current devastation, at the end of the day the place is worth.

Pros:

It is impossible to find this hotel, the address is wrong in the maps and if you call nobody answer or nobody speaks english, they sent me to the Volga Hotel instead Volna Hotel. Google maps and UBER doesn't have this place on their maps. It was impossible to get there.

For the price it was good value
Pros:

The room is reasonable in size, not very small. Two floors up without a lift. Mattresses are too old, you sunk in. Breakfast is delivered to the room and is very small though cooked and tasty. It's a reasonable place at a good price. Wi-Fi is good (after the hassle to set it up at the beginning). Service is good and we got the room early on the first day. English is not really spoken but with the help of Google Translate we managed.

Хороший отель в центре города
Pros:

Были проездом на одну ночь. Приехали ночью, очень быстро заселили. Утром завтрак, достаточно вкусно и сытно. Рекомендуем заказать в этом же кафе и обед. Вкусно, по-домашнему приготовлено, не дорого.

Pros:

После проживания гостиница оставила хорошее впечатление. Несмотря на класс номера "эконом" в номере и гостинице было все необходимое для комфортного проживания. Чистота, тишина, возможность хорошего отдыха приятно удивили. Отдельное спасибо хочется сказать отзывчивому, дружелюбному и вежливому персоналу гостиницы.

Находилась в деловой поездке.Отель находится в хорошем районе.Рядом набережная. В отеле чисто и номер и ванная.Цена соответствует категории отеля.Качество обслуживания на 4 балла.В отеле не шумно.Есть все, что бы отдохнуть после рабочего дня.

Einfaches Hotel in zentraler und ruhiger Lage.
Pros:

12 Nächte an der Wolga, Wander und Städtetrip. Am Anfang wenig Gäste, sehr ruhig. Sehr einfach und alles da. Knarrender Dielenboden mit Teppich ausgelegt. Betten sehr hart. Russisches kleineres Frühstück wurde vorgefertigt um 8 ins Zimmer gebracht. Speisen wiederholten sich nach einer Woche. Bad sehr sauber. 90% des Personals konnte nur russisch, auch an der Rezeption. Als es kalt wurde (max.16 C) und die Stadt Samara die zentrale Heizung für die Zimmer noch nicht an hatte, gab es solange eine elektrische Heizung. Internet sehr langsam (256 kb) und musste für jedes Gerät extra kostenfrei registriert werden. Auf einem Stockwerk gab es etwa 10 Zimmer mit eigenem Bad und 10 mit gemeinsamen Bad.
