Great place
Pros:

Lovely facilities and staff, including a nice pool, gym and common areas.

Bel hôtel mais les chambres sont dans 1 état très vétuste. Odeur de remontées d’égouts. Piscine mal entretenue, personne ne se baigne.

The bar was fine, however I ordered hot butter mushrooms and got what i think was aubergine covered in something very heavy

Scam hotel

First off, this hotel is a scam so please do not stay here.

We made a reservation and stayed at this hotel with local payment. When we checked in, we were asked to pay, and we paid by card. At that time, it seems that the amount presented was one digit more than the amount at the time of reservation, but we did not check it properly and pressed the PIN. We realized that it was one digit more when the card payment was made after checking out.

At first, we thought it was a mistake on the hotel's side and asked them to correct the payment. However, the hotel claimed that it was a correct charge based on the fact that the PIN was pressed. We protested through Booking.com, the embassy, ​​and the local tourist police. The hotel owner then fabricated the use of multiple rooms, which did not exist, and claimed that it was a correct charge. From these facts, it is clear that the hotel intentionally overcharged, and did not respond to our further requests for correction.

In addition, when we consulted with the local police, we were told that this hotel has had similar troubles several times in the past, so it is considered to be a malicious fraud hotel.

In the end, after negotiating with the local police many times and applying pressure, and threatening to prosecute, they agreed to a refund. However, they did not apologize until the end.

If they had no ill intentions, why did they issue a refund after being pressured by the police? The fact that they initially refused to refund and then only issued a refund after being pressured by the police proves their ill intentions.

We traveled using a local tour company, and were able to get a refund with the support of very kind local Sri Lankans, but it may have been difficult if we had not known anyone there. Staying at this hotel is like going to meet a scammer.

I would also like to ask Booking.com, which lists such hotels, to take action. I am posting this review.

Highly Recommended..
Pros:

I stayed at this hotel, and it was a fantastic experience. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay, always friendly and attentive. The location was perfect. close to key attractions and easy to access. I also appreciated the excellent amenities, from the well-maintained pool to the delicious breakfast offered every morning. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Not great experience

The location is convenient to Kandy city centre and Temple relic tooth and also the train station.

Cons:

I have booked two ideal hotel rooms. One of the rooms didn't have working Air-conditioning. After complaining to the staff they have manually turned on , no controller found. Therefore we had to turn it off during the night.hotel wasn't cleaned. The facilities they have advertised for kids do not exist. The swimming pool didn't look clean. The staff didn't know what they were doing as they were not trained properly. When we ordered dinner after two hours of waiting with two small kids they told us they can't provide food due to an issue in the kitchen. They didn't know how to cook meals on the menu. They didn't warn us this first place otherwise we would have gone out somewhere else for dinner. Finally they brought us two portions of rice and curry and the portion size was very small . ( Two portions of rice with one portion size of a few curries). It was nothing like on the menue. ) they didn't provide water or anything to drink with the meal. When we requested they tried to charge separately for water and once we refused to pay for water they agreed to not charge. The hot water wasn't very warm either. Overall it wasn't a good experience and not worth what we paid for. I wish I had read the reviews before I booked this hotel. The room wasn't cleaned and we were all bitten by bed bugs or mosquitos.
