Cons:
Area safety concerns (homeless/drug activity, sketchy at times)

Categories

Cleanliness
8.2
Generally reported as clean and spacious in multiple reviews, though isolated issues were mentioned (dirty towel, occasional dirty washrooms and a cigarette smell in some rooms).
Service
9
Consistently praised: friendly, helpful front desk and security staff; good responsiveness (e.g., fixing hot water and accommodating late check-out).
Location
7
Convenient central/downtown location and close to destinations (hospital), but repeatedly described as sketchy with visible homeless/drug activity and safety concerns when walking alone.
Room Quality
8.3
Rooms noted as spacious with comfortable beds, good showers and larger king rooms; some maintenance/minor comfort issues reported (AC not working, ironing board, no bottled water, occasional smoke smell).
Amenities
7.8
Breakfast and on-site restaurant praised; large whirlpool and underground parking available. Some desired additions (kettle, casting to TV) and occasional outages (no hot water) were noted; parking is paid.
Value for Money
6
Value is negatively impacted by frequent reports of high parking fees (~$35–$40/night) and extra charges for breakfast, which some guests described as predatory.
Food and Beverage
8.4
When used, breakfast and the restaurant were described as very good; however breakfast is often an extra charge.
Overall Experience
8.5
Overall comfortable stays with excellent staff and good facilities, balanced by safety concerns around the property and additional fees (notably parking) that lower overall satisfaction.

Still a great stay and would consider it for future events/work stays
Pros:

Perfect location for my event

Cons:

Clear parking directions upon arrival for a busy event left many cars parked temporarily in the drop off zone and unable to access the parkade without having checked in.

Clean beds, room. Good space. Simple but upgraded and clean.
Nice to have a receiving couches & coffee table for guests to talk with visitors.

Cons:

Far from center; a bit walk toward eating place. A bit more expensive rate considering all.

The bed was decent
Pros:

Didn’t part take in breakfast due to time constraints. Location on the brick road path had accessibility to homeless people right at the hotel. Some sleeping right outside. Our nephews had a knife pulled on them in daylight; luckily rcmp were within 15 feet and saw it. We don’t know what could have happened otherwise. $38 for parking per night. Crazy and you’re not right downtown. Security is needed at the hotel 100%. We booked 4 rooms and at check in; one of the rooms was showing up with the wrong rate double the price but we had the confirmation email with the correct price and it was an ordeal to correct with the manager. We were all put on separate floors as well. Exit for underground parking too narrow when leaving.

Cons:

More towels. Security. Reasonable parking for guests. 2 free bottle water in rooms like holiday inn express. Kirkland is gross. Stains on carpets, throw pillows, roof, headboards, so gross. Offer outdoor parking to hotel guests first priority then random people. Larger vehicles don’t fit underground it’s too narrow. Especially leaving. I saw a red truck take 10 mins to get out. Stand up shower tile needs updating. Old cracked dated grout is gross.

Nice hotel
Pros:

Location is good, staff is good

Cons:

The way the beds are made here is quite unpleasant. Instead of using a proper duvet cover that completely encloses the blanket, they simply place the duvet between two separate sheets. As a result, the duvet itself can come into direct contact with the guest and can even slip out from between the sheets.
This does not give a very clean or hygienic feeling, especially because you don't know how thoroughly the actual duvet is cleaned between guests. A proper, fully enclosed duvet cover would be a much more hygienic and comfortable solution.

Great hotel and team.
Pros:

Central location in downtown, breakfast and restaurant were very good. Great service from the whole team.

Cons:

Small note only, no bottled water in the room upon arrival I thought was strange and the ironing board would perform better with a padded cover.

General note on the location. There is a severe homeless & drug problem in the area. I wouldn’t advise walking the area alone even in the middle of the day if I was a woman travelling alone, overall atmosphere was a bit edgy, I felt constantly on guard while out exploring.
