Very good location
Indian man help to us like a family man
The host was surprised to see us arriving........first time ever happening.
room was, of course not ready, no wifi, bathroom in a terrible condition, breakfast was a joke compare to other hotels we have been, I don't even know if it was a real hotel.
The old " show and switch" seems to be not uncommon in Sri Lanka , but this is a private hotel and not a resort. No restaurant , no BBQ , no golf course . The room had most of the facilities promised and was sunny , opening on to a small balcony. The community spaces within the building were quite comfortable. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to several eating choices. It sits above a fairly busy road but is quiet at night . Breakfast was fairly basic .The management were always helpful. In the context that it cost $25USD per night I would describe it as adequate.
The family room that was offéred to us had this terrible smell of damp. The offering to us as a solution was a bottle of air freshener. The sheets and bedding was stained and unclean.
The ability of the staff to deal with this problem was pathetic.
Th hotel was below basic as it is outdated and it was not clean. the weather was very bad so the electricity was shutting off many times. no heater at rooms and the weather was very cold.
about 10mins walk away from the town area in nuwara eliya. room was basic, bed was comfy and had warm blankets. water pressure was a little weak though
staff seemed friendly and eager to help though we did not interact much with them. check in took about a minute, the moment we walked in we were shown our room right away no admin processes involved. check out was similarly fast too
The staff are friendly and the hotel is well maintained. However, the breakfast was quite weak, the location has no restaurants nearby, the hotel did not have water for sale and the internet was not good.
The property is nice. The receptionist was a bit pushy, interrupted a lot and tried to sell me a 3500 rupee trip to Horton plains, saying he needed to know my answer right away. I had a hunch and turned him down, and found the same trip available in town for 2000 rupees.
But the property is lovely, historical, clean, and convenient. But freezing! Bring a sweater and hot water bottle.
Good hotel friendly staff good food ..................................................................................................................................................
Accommodation was pretty standard for the price - I definitely wouldn’t consider this a resort. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is outside city center and tuk tuks are available for 200 rupees
The overall service was excellent. Food was very well prepared. The hotel itself was slightly out dated.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Nice basic rooms. Breakfast was eggs, toast, yogurt, and coffee or tea. This is a great value.
It is a nice small hotel with best customer service.
Our room had an hot water issue and manager gave us an another room which had a good size balcony.
Breakfast and dinner was prepared nicely. Prompt service and best customer service.
Inroma is a pleasant enough place and the guys running are very hospitable. The room was spacious with a nice high ceiling and pleasant bathroom. The wifi was a bit hit and miss and breakfast a bit limited. The location overlooks the bus station which makes it a bit noisy at times. Nuwara Elyia is a spread out, so it is a fair walk or a tuk tuk ride to most places. However, we managed to circumnavigate Gregory Lake and walk to Lovers' Leap water fall (recommended) directly from Inroma. Victoria Park is a few minutes from the location. Choice of restaurants and bars in the area are limited but the restaurants at the Grand Hotel are very good, although a little more expensive. Our host drove us back to the station for a reasonable fee and assisted with our bags. Overall, I can recommend Inroma for a short stay.
Quiet location, excellent staff, couldn't do enough for us. Good sized clean room with a balcony & comfortable bed. Hot water & wifi. A walk down into town & if your willing a 20 minute walk back up a hill.
Just a little hard to find, this is an older building which requires the use of stairs to get from the car to the lobby, which could be a problem for some. There was only one young man on duty when I arrived fairly late, however he did everything to make me welcome, even rounding up some food! A good, no frills place to stay for a night or two.
Friendly staff and nice food helped make our stay enjoyable despite the very poor wet weather. This property is away from the town centre so will entail a tuk tuk ride to reach any activity.
First and foremost this is not resort, there is no pool, bar, it is not near the golf course, does not have wonderful mountain views as stated on some web pages, but we knew this before we left and we had no illusions of grandeur.
On the plus side what you do get is probably the friendliest bed and breakfast place in Sri Lanka, breakfast is fine a large sandwich of eggs and cheese, fresh fruit, yogurt, tea, coffee and lots of smiles.
The room is reasonably large and clean, the bathroom is ok but the whole floor does get wet after shower so it is best to keep a pair of flip flops by the door to keep your feet dry.
They have a taxi on site to arrange trips which are cheaper than other alternate operators.
On the negative side, opposite are warehouses for market traders, they start work early and you are just of a main road, if you want a quiet late morning in bed this is not the place for you.
This is not 5 star resort luxury, but If you are on a tight budget you can do far worse than the Inroma.
Major problems: no towel or toilet paper in the room for 4 hours after I checked in (sat there sweaty and dirty), hotel worker looking at inappropriate web content in the common area, and breakfast served very late. Asked for it at 8am (which they agreed to), didn't get it until 8:45am. Caused me to be very late in my drive to Sigiriya.
a lovely experience at this guest house, clean, near to the town center. the guesthouse staff are pleasant and engaging.
the rooms are clean and well maintained - couldn't ask for more!
the team at the house are always willing to support with local travel in the area including getting to "worlds end" with a supplied packed lunch! always going to be a winner!
compared to the fairly impersonal hotels in the local area you'll find that the team at Iroma are great.
