Not Executive Accommodation, Marriott is sweating its asset and overcharging for poor standard

POOL - We booked the hotel because it had a pool as we are both avid swimmers. When we arrived, we were told that the pool was temporarily out of service although this was later discovered to be an absolute lie as the new bar build on top of the pool area can only be considered a semi or full permanent fixture with its unique plumbing, electrics, fixed furniture, decoration & a fully structural floor with solid timber floor planks.

RATING - We were also extremely disappointed with the standard of the fit out in the hotel, particularly the apartment. The electrics, loose furniture, kitchen, electrics, bathroom, carpets, all seem to be at least 25 years old and have either reached or about to approach the point of failure or exceeded the typical limits of maximum asset-sweating. Some of the spotlights in the ceiling were blinking / flashing to the point where they are darker around the fitting itself, we left the lights on so the cleaners would notice them flickering and automatically get maintenance to fix. The cleaners didn't proactively act so I called for the maintenance guy myself who in fairness did come within an hour. The bed in particular was long past life cycle with the linen / base being higher at the feet end instead of being level. The building is absolutely filthy on the outside which bears zero similarity to the photos online, the white cladding is filthy grey, the glass canopy looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years and the entire glass handrail to the front of the hotel looks like it was put together with remnants from a scrapyard whereby they are all ill-fitting and not even fixed as level. When we checked in, we went up in the main elevator and later tried to go down in same but not working and no notices. We ended up going down the service lift. It even seemed like only one of the guest lifts was working.

WiFi & POWER - The WiFi was poor, and the power went off several times over the days we were there.
