The Montagu Arms Hotel

Really enjoyed our stay here. A lovely relaxing atmosphere in the hotel, friendly staff who made us feel very welcome and two super meals at the attached Monty’s Inn. Particular highlight were the eight donkeys who arrived at the hotel one afternoon! Would definitely recommend and hope to return maybe in the summer when we could enjoy the beautiful garden too.

We stayed for one night in the Hayloft Barn Suite for my husbands 40th birthday. Everything was fantastic, the room was beautiful and clean, they had even left a birthday card for him too which was so kind of them. The food was fantastic, they accommodated to us not being drinkers and provided alternatives for the G&T afternoon tea I had booked as a surprise. All the staff were so kind throughout our stay and I would highly recommend staying here. We will certainly be booking again.

This is a lovely private hotel and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and relaxed. The rooms are wonderful and spacious and have a homey feel. The gardens are beautiful and despite being here in the deepest of winter, we felt the benefit of the well cared for garden and patios.

The restaurant was a great surprise as the food was delicious and the service was perfect.

Definitely recommend for a stay in the New Forest.

We had our Christmas wedding at the Montagu Arms and couldn’t have been happier! The team were incredibly accommodating and organised — everything ran smoothly, and they responded promptly to all our emails. They were also very flexible when we needed to make changes, which made the planning process so stress-free.

When our cake was accidentally damaged in transit, the staff handled it seamlessly and fixed it without any fuss. On top of that, they kindly upgraded our room free of charge, which was such a lovely surprise.

From start to finish, the Montagu Arms made our wedding feel special, effortless, and truly memorable. We can’t recommend them highly enough!

The Montagu Arms is a beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds. Spotlessly clean with ample parking.
The staff were a joy to deal with and every single one of them made us feel welcome.
We stayed in Courtyard Suite that was spacious and tastefully decorated.
We will definitely stay again and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Booked the lovely Montagu Arms as a birthday treat and it was superb. We love the courtyard rooms with a spacious lounge area, massive bathroom and beautiful gardens front and rear. So easy to have your dog there and dogs are also welcome in everywhere except the main restaurant. The staff made our visit exceptional; fantastic food and service and nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommend this hotel. It is really special and the location is perfect; the New Forest location can’t be beaten

We returned to the Montagu for our anniversary after getting married there last year. We had a wonderful time, despite the weather! As before all the staff were wonderful, and the room and hotel itself were superb. Lovely spot to spend a rainy Sunday in front of the fire and in the bar! Thanks again!

We had our wedding at the hotel in the Oakwood Room. Us and our guests stayed at the hotel for two nights, and had dinner at Monty’s. Everything was excellent. The staff were so welcoming and couldn’t do more for us. The food was superb and the rooms were luxurious.

We were absolutely thrilled with how the wedding day went. It was all we could have dreamt of and more. Virginia was incredible. She went over and above to make sure every single detail was covered. She is a total perfectionist. We can’t thank her enough for all her hard work.

Clara (marketing and events manager) was an absolute pleasure to liaise with. Clara was so prompt in her responses, ensuring all details were covered and with that, we felt completely reassured we had chosen the right place. I didn’t have to worry about anything, Clara had it all under control.

The Montagu Arms is forever going to be a special place for us and we can’t wait to return for our first anniversary.

A great place to stay. It was welcoming, luxurious and had a personalised approach. Breakfast was brilliant and we will definitely be back as soon as we can to try out the restaurant.

We hosted our wedding at the Montagu Arms and it was everything we hoped and dreamed of. Perfectly situated in the heart of the new forest it was ideal for visiting Bucklers Hard for a post wedding day walk, and the PIG for a pre-wedding night meal. All of the team members were excellent; from the pre-organising of the wedding, the the execution on the day, and the rest of the team at the hotel. The rooms felt cozy, clean and premium with little extra's like a taster of sloe gin. We were impressed with the value offered by their intimate wedding package and felt it was the perfect size for our party of 12. Can't recommend highly enough.

Very nice dog friendly hotel and pub in the beautiful village of Beaulieu .
Excellent food and wines in both the hotel and attached pub , and great service from all the staff who were very efficient but also warm and friendly , couldn’t do enough for you .
The Xmas 3 day package was very well thought out , nobody (including dogs )wanted for anything .
Great walks from the doorstep , particularly the riverside walk to Bucklers Hard , all in all a lovely stay .
Hotel beautifully situated , plenty of parking at rear and beautiful garden’s leading down to the hotel . Be nice to visit in spring/ summer to see them in their prime .

New Years Eve party, a Gala Dinner, with exquisite food menus for meat eaters and vegetarians. The wine tasting in the afternoon affords the chance to get to know your fellow guests, and breaks the ice for a fantastic evening.

From the hotel, expect and receive only the best. The hotel staff are committed to your evening, driven by delivering excellence, while walking the fine line of friendliness and professionalism. Nothing is too much, and the little touches of class are superb... I won't spoil the surprises!

The Hotel is a hidden gem, located in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, with walks, pubs, and attractions close, but not too close. Quiet location, but enogh going on. The hotel is presented clean, and spacious, but still feels like home.

It is on the high-end of the pricing, but the value you get will not disappoint.

It is a place you will want to return to... again and again... but, please, don't tell anyone else!!

Only stayed one night for a last minute break. It was just what we needed. Lovely service and nice to see real log fires. We were given a larger room than we booked, very grateful for that nice touch. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, ate in terrace restaurant which was good (although room could have been warmer!). Only minor criticism is that hot breakfast item incur an extra charge, seems a bit u unnecessary for a hotel at this price point. However breakfast was delicious. We will hopefully return for a longer visit.

From the moment we arrived the fantastic staff couldn’t do enough for us. The room was lovely and the welcome hamper a nice surprise.
We ate in the pub first night and the service was once again warm and friendly.
The next two days we ate at the hotel restaurant and once again cant fault the service given.

We did enjoy our meal in the pub side of this lovely place but it could have been better. Firstly after being seated in a dull part of the room which in my eyes if your going for a lovely Christmas special dinner you want it to make you feel cosy and festive, I asked the waitress if we could move to the empty seating by the festive window, she went and asked as she said it was the Special seating, I mean we booked this restaurant 3 weeks ago so why wasn’t we put there, the result was we could move and it was so much better. Feeling relaxed now we decided to order the steaks, mine was lovely but husbands was grisly even though he went for the more expensive one. We enjoyed ourselves though but my only gripe is why when you order such a lovely and expensive dish why can’t they just add a bit of greenery to it, just a handful of Hampshire watercress would of lifted and completed that dish to almost perfection.

Booked a night stay to see the New Year in at this gorgeous hotel set in the heart of the New Forest and I couldn’t have been more impressed with the whole experience. The hotel is totally gorgeous, the accommodation was like a 5 star apartment, so beautiful, I would happily move in there! The staff so amazing, friendly polite and helpful, you would be hard pressed to find anywhere to match it! Champagne and canopies followed by a 5 course menu was incredible, such a fun and enjoyable atmosphere and everyone was looked after so well. I took my 2 dogs and they were looked after just as well as the 2 legged guests, comfy beds, bowls, toys and treat awaited them with plenty of lovely walks, they loved it!
I can’t wait to return as the Montagu Arms is totally fabulous, they go above and beyond to ensure guests are looked after, I cannot it recommend highly enough. Thankyou for the most wonderful stay x

Excellent service. The staff went over and above to help and assist . Good variety of food choice and rooms cleaned regularly while we had our breakfast. Also Montys inn next door was enjoyed by our family who visited us on Boxing day

My wife and I decided to trying something different rather than Christmas at home. We decided to take the three day break at Montagu Arms Hotel. We have stayed here before and always enjoyed the experience. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff including the hotel manager with the log fire in the background also radiating a glowing warm welcome followed by afternoon tea.
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day were delightfully accompanied by comfort, champagne with delicious food and wines. The room was perfect for our stay, quiet, clean and warm. In the lounge before each evening meal we would enjoy champagne and canapes. This gave us the opportunity to meet the other guests in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The Montagu Arms Hotel being located in Beaulieu is surrounded by beautiful relaxing walks with the New Forest.
Value for money is well worth this stay.
What brings us back to Montagu Arms Hotel time and time again is the customer service. We have always found the staff so friendly and helpful.
If you are considering a relaxing festive break away from the normal stresses of life, Montagu Arms Hotel is the place to be and not just at Christmas.

We had a wonderful stay, such a warm comfortable room, lovely staff and a garden that was a pleasure to walk through and look at. Everything was so welcoming and well looked after. It’s our new favourite hotel and we will be back.
