Went there today after booking.com allowed me to book a non-existent hotel to find out it’s closed. To be honest by the looks of it this hotel had been closed for a while. How on earth they are still on Booking.com and you can still purchase a room is anyone’s guess.
The area in which the hotel is located in great! It is safe, though lively and cosy. The owner and the rest of the staff are extremely friendly and make you feel at home. The room was fine and the food was amazing! I stayed here for two nights and had dinner in the hotel twice. Both dishes were delicious.
Even though it took us hours to find this hotel, we enjoyed staying here two nights. More like a small guest house, it contains only 5 rooms. The rooms are rather small and stuffed with dated furniture and faded curtains with a tad bit kitschy look. Yet, we found certain charm in the décor. Our room was full of dust though.
The owner, a Frenchman, was polite and helpful. He spoke OK English, even though most staff did not.
The hotel also has a restaurant serving delicious food. Even though not many vegetarian choices, the salads were really good. The home made mango sorbet was divine.
Over all, the place was excellent value for money.
The hotel is run by a couple; a French man and a Togolese lady of Nigerian descent. I could not ask for better hosts.
They bent over backward to make us comfortable.
This is may not be your premium European hotel , however the rooms have AC, TV, Fridge and are exceptionally clean. Eating in the bedroom is discouraged.
Their restaurant meals are awesome.
Wifi is available, reliable and free
I discovered a cache of some of my favorite old french Band Dessines ;
Although it is situated in the centre of Lome with easy access, the street leading directly to the hotel is not tarred and seems unattractive.
In all it is great value for money.
when I am In Lome any time soon, I can't think of staying in any other hotel than Cote Sud.
Im enjoy my sate the hotelis very traditional place very good the savice is not so comfortable l not get the Wi-Fi in my room the connection isnot good in hotel but l told them before l live
I will go next time
Thanks
Best regards

At first sight, it is not very evident to see what distinguishes this place from similar ones in Africa. However, it does not take too long to appreciate its special status (and I stayed nearly 3 weeks here):
1. Everything actually works in your room
2. WIFI is available throughout the premises, free and relatively speedy
3. Public power outages are taken care of immediately
4. The service personnel is friendly and efficient
5. Aside from having every item on their menu, the restaurant offers daily changing meals that look attractive and normally are delicious
6. The owners care about you, your wellbeing and your reasons to be here
7. The whole place reveals to have a very relaxing Mediterranean atmosphere; you can feel transported in time and place
My next time in Lome I will return to Cote Sud.
Me and 4 of my collegues stayed at Hotel Cote Sud for 7 days and it has been a great experiences. The rooms are clean, the Aircon, electricity and hot water supply are reliable. The restaurant serves escellent food and the staff is super helpful. Also there is a really nice, big terrace on the first flloor. I can highly recommend the Hotel as well as the restaurant.
A nice hotel in the center of Lome with good local food. The hotel service is ok considering the local standards and serves continental breakfast as per order. Its a good value for money you spent on room.
I have just returned from spending 3 nights at this great little hotel while in Lome for work. Owner was really friendly and went out of his way to look after me during my stay - even found someone for me to go jogging with as it was not safe to go alone! Rooms fairly simple but a/c works well and plenty of hot water. Location is great - very central and within walking distance of local market/sea front. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Lome I highly recommend staying here!
I can't begin to describe how much I loved this hotel! The location is fantastic, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, and the food is phenomenal. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of Lomé and this makes it a perfect place to escape the chaos for a little while. Breakfast on the terrace was particularly beautiful. Will definitely return if I can.
I spent 4 nights staying in the Hotel Cote Sud recently and can't recommend it highly enough. The hotel was very pleasant and the owners extremely friendly and helpful. The food was really good too. As a lone woman staying in Lome, it was lovely to stay somewhere which felt so welcoming and where I felt so well looked after. Wifi worked brilliantly, air con, hot showers, breakfast on the terrace...what more could you want!
It's a great little hotel. Nice and small, centrally located, clean and plenty of hot water! It has a nice courtyard and a great balcony that gets a breeze. Coming from Accra I couldn't believe how quiet it was!
The food was great and the hotel staff were very accommodating. We were travelling in quite a large group and they very flexible to suit our needs.
Its close to the main road, beach, bars and the main market. I'd definitely stay there again.
I travelled to Lome a couple of months ago - for what you pay this is the best hotel in town. Great food at a very good price and very comfortable nice rooms. Constant a/c and hot water.
The hotel is located in a slightly off the beaten track road, so make sure you have the adress written down - not many taxi drivers have heard of it. Easy walk to the main road and the beach.
Service can be slow at times, but nothing unusual for those who have travelled in Africa.
Very nice familiar Hotel, ideal for a business trip or tourism. WiFi access is good.
I spent a week there while in a business trip. The hotel is well managed, very clean and well organized, good location and it is easy to get a taxi to move around. The restaurant offers International / French cuisine adapted to local species. Let yourself surprised by the chef's creations and homemade ice cream.
As an English speaker, I had a bit of difficulty communicating with some of the staff. Not sure what the fuss made by other reviews is about but the rooms are average. The pillows are old and spotted. The room needs a decent paint job. There is no hot water. I couldn't sleep two of the three nights there because of mosquitoes. Would I recommend this place to a good friend? probably not. That said, Lome is poor in offering accommodation so I guess lack of option makes this place attractive for the price
My travel companion and I had an excellent stay at Hotel Cote Sud. The room was clean and spacious with working A/C. The bathroom was clean. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Dinners at the restaurant were delicious. I would definitely stay there again!
My stay at the Cote Sud was triggered by the reviews on Tripadvisor, and I was not disappointed by my decision.
I was picked up from the Airport which was very convenient.
This is a small cozy property that boasts of an on-site restaurant, an owner-com-chef who is open to suggestions on cooking what you're craving for. In stead of the usual boiled and cooked spaghetti - the chef presented me with a oven baked version which was quite impressive.
The hotel in general is very clean and the breakfast is basic but hits the spot ( do ask for the mango juice which is heavenly ! - and this is from someone who has lived in a mango country most of his life)
The rooms are spacious and so are the bathrooms, the wi-fi works decently, the staff are attentive and work on customer requests ( for changing money, getting a taxi) which helps substantially in an otherwise dysfunctional city.
The hotel is barely a minute's drive from the main Boulevard, which makes it very centrally located - it is also about 20 minutes from the Airport.
I would have rated them an excellent of the wi-fi was available in my room - that was the only shortcoming during my stay.
Would definitely recommend this place and would come back.
The hotel is a bit hard to find but is close to center of town and beach. We stayed two nights and enjoyed it. It has a nice dining courtyard downstars and a nice balcony upstairs overlooking the action on the street. Our room faced street but noise was not a problem. The room had good Wifi connection, refrigerator, TV and AC. We ate at hotel for a lunch and dinner. We weren't thrilled with the hamburger for lunch but our dinner was good.
I stayed here for four nights in August 2012 on a work trip. The room was clean and spacious but not luxurious and had a large private bathroom. The bed was changed daily, the food was very good, the internet worked reliably and the place was secure and safe. In this respect all of my essential requirements for a business tirp were very well satisfied. In many African countries this is hard to find at any price, let alone at the very affordable prices charged in this hotel.
What was really impressive, however, was the welcome and friendliness shown by the owner and all his staff. I've only experienced better in four and five star hotels in Asia. Don't be put off by the look of this place. It only has five rooms and is more like a guest house than a hotel. It's located at the corner of two dusty/muddy unpaved streets in a fairly modest part of town, but only a short drive to the business and government districts.
We didn't stay at the hotel but we came to eat here and fell in love with the place. The french owner cooks himself with the help of a another french cook who lives in the neighborhood and comes over to "have fun in the kitchen". And that's exactly what the food tastes like: The two cooks try out new recipes and you just marvel on the food, trying to find out what flavors they've used this time. Even their burgers are extraordinary! During our two week stay in Lomé we came three times to eat here. The ambiance is simple but very very nice. Definitely a MUST when you're in Lomé!
