Angara Hotel

We were here just for one night after finishing our Trans-Siberian rail trip. It's a Soviet designed hotel which we love - this means clean, simple and functional architecture with wide, spacious and light interior. We got a room overlooking the lovely square and the city, the rooms have an internal door making a small lobby or porch which ALL hotels should have, it makes the room so much more cosy and quiet. Sorry we were only here for one night in beautiful Irkutsk. Oh Breakfast starts at 3 am! which means it's perfect for travellers. Friendly check in, security and plenty of amenities inside the hotel [at least two restaurants, bar]. Wish we had longer here.

Удобное расположение, сам отель не плох, но не идеален. Завтрак так себе и дорогой по сравнению с кафе вокруг. Холодильник не работает. В номере есть чайник и чашки, но нет заварки и ложек. Кровать не очень удобная. На двоих дают одно миниатюрное одеяло. Особой критики заслуживают лифты, в которые с трудом входит 3 человека. Из-за этого по утрам их приходится очень долго ждать. Также ресторан Пекинская уткп просто ужасен. Не советую.

Хороший большой отель в центре города. Построен давно, но видимо был частично отремонтирован и выглядит достаточно неплохо.
Номера небольшие, но комфортные. Есть холодильник, чайник.
Администраторы вежливы.
Кулер с водой на этаже.

В пешей доступности до большинства достопримечательностей города.

Отличный отель, красиво, чисто, нам всё понравилось.

останавливалась на 1 день перед поездкой на Байкал. Очень удобное расположение, неплохой завтрак.
Номер старый, шум с улицы.

We stayed here just one night on our way back from Baikal lake, so we chose the hotel based on location and price. We were though positively surprised. Its a very large hotel, seems like one of the former soviet tourist hotels, now remodelled.

1) Friendly personnel, check-in was done efficiently.

2) Good price for what you get.

3) Location is great and if you have a room overlooking the main square it is really beautiful, especially during Christmas time when we travelled as there were beautiful decorations.

4) Room. We had the cheapest standard room, which is quite cosy, but very pracdtically arranged. Twin beds, night stands with power outlets, fridge, desk, cupboard. Bathroom has toiletries. Unlimited hot water and very very strong shower pressure (and I mean strong!). Lots of good sized towels.

5) We didnt try breakfast as we left too early, but in the hotel there is a very good Chinese place were we had dinner. Highly recommended tastes authentic Chinese. There is also a pub, which we didnt try but it looked also very nice.

6) Good location. You have shops right next to the hotel and a beautiful square/park in front. Good location for sightseeing too. Only 16 min to airport if no traffic!

Отличная гостиница! Очень удобно расположена относительно центра и главных достопримечательностей. Также здорово, что близко до центрального рынка, примерно 10-12 минут пешком (это для тех, кто повезёт из Сибири родственникам и друзьям вкусную рыбу, мёд, кедровые орехи, варенье из шишек и пр.).
Что касается сервиса, то всё чётко, вежливо, доброжелательно. В номере (как и в других помещениях) чисто и удобно, гель-шампунь-зуб.щётка - ждут вас. Завтрак отличный, полный ассортимент того, что должно быть в 4* отелях, если ориентироваться на европейские звёзды. Также в номере чайник, в холле на этаже кулер. Рядом с гостиницей остановка общественного транспорта - до аэропорта можно доехать на автобусе. Но я предпочёл заказать на ресепшн такси. Вечером хорошо наблюдать закат над Ангарой (из гостиницы вправо пешком пять минут до набережной, до реки). В общем, рекомендую всем и отель, и город (чудесные церкви, музеи - в первую очередь Дом-музей С. Волконского, театр им. Охлопкова - красивейшее здание, сохранившиеся деревянные жилые дома и другие памятники, скульптуры, скверы. Два дня пешком по Иркутску - прекрасные впечатления на всю жизнь!!!

Nice place, very big, bar, restaurant, coffee shop, good location, polite staff. Across from a vary large park and close to down town. Many things to do within walking distance.24 hour front desk, English language is limited but can be workable in most situations. I had no problems with requests from staff. The people and maids are polite and helpful. Thank you very much.

Shower was dirty but the hotel offers good value for money and is close to the city centre so you can walk to the sites

Hotel Angara is very central in the heart of Irkutsk.
Service and Style has still a big touch from the Soviet century.
Especially service at the bar - very let’s say „strange“.
Also a big disappointment is the nose at night.
All night long young people racing their cars and motorcycle around the square at the hotel.
Short night and almost no sleep!

The reception is pointless cause they do nothing else besides checking you in so you have to deal with other staff to solve your problems or concerns. The staff on duty on each floor is good. Breakfast is poor and coffee is bad. The hotel is fairly clean. No iron in a room. Restaurant service is poor but food made for the room service is fairly good.

Гостиница расположена в центре города, очень удобно. Номер уютный, чистый, уборка ежедневно, полотенца меняют по требованию, персонал вежливый, завтраки вкусные.

The hotel is ok, people in the lobby is not very kind or helpfull, i asked them to help me to fin service to olkhon island and they just say " we cant help you".... the room it was ok, but the bathroom was old and not so good.

Street racing испортил всё. Отелю желательно в ночное время либо запросить дежурство ГИБДД, либо потратить деньги на установку «лежачего полицейского». Спать в выходные просто невозможно: шум от тех, кто устраивает гонки на машинах без глушителей, и никто ничего не может сделать.

This hotel seems to be well suited to Chinese group tourists.
I made a reservation at Hotels.com and It was a total disaster[mess]. because there were too many Chinese people in groups.
They dropped food on the floor of the restaurant, walking around the restaurant eating food, foods are soon disappeared.

I booked a single room, but the receptionist tricked me and gave me a room without a safe and air conditioner. I took a Hotels.com reservation voucher and asked for a room with an air conditioner and a safe. The concierge standing in the hall was like a piece of wood to be blunt(They all seemed to be exhausted by the group people). This hotel was the worst hotel on this one month trip to Russia.

The location was good. But the room was small

Although primarily aimed at business customers, Angara is a good hotel for tourists due to its very central location.
Check in was efficient, if not the friendliest, but once again, think business hotel.
Our room, a suite on the front of the hotel was both spacious and spotlessly clean.
Kettle and fridge in the room were useful.
We also had a great view of the Kirov Park right outside the hotel.
Breakfast, served in one of the hotel restaurants (depending on which floor you are staying) was the normal continental style with enough variety to keep you going.
As mentioned, all the major sights of Irkutsk are within reasonable walking distance.
You can even walk to the train station in about 20 minutes if you are continuing your journey by rail.
Nice restaurant attached to the hotel "The London Pub" good food, and drinks at reasonable prices.
There is also a Chinese? restaurant in the hotel complex.
The bus stop is right outside should you need it and there is a supermarket next door for supplies.
Overall, a very good stay.

とても清潔でよかった。しかし午後から西日が当たり、部屋が非常に熱くなった。エアコンほ吹き出し口はほこりがたまり、エアコンはつけなかった。掃除お願いします。朝食は良かったです、リンゴを一旅の途中で食べました。

電源の質が良くないかもしれません。
USB充電器を接続した時、バチバチ音がしていましたが、壊れました。
ホテルの質について不満はありませんでした。
