Inti Punku Hotel provided a very comfortable and convenient one-night stay following a visit to Machu Picchu.
Ideally located in Aguas Calientes, within easy walking distance of both the train station and the bus departures for Machu Picchu, making it a practical choice for travelers with early morning or tight schedules.
The room was comfortable, and the shower was excellent with strong pressure and reliable hot water—especially welcome after a long day of sightseeing. Breakfast was excellent.
Overall, this is a strong option for anyone staying in Aguas Calientes who values convenience, comfort, and a quality breakfast.
It’s very centrally located, right by the San Pedro station for anyone getting the train. The bed was very large and comfy, and the room was clean, overall good value for money.
My room faced the inner terrace and the restaurant/top terrace had a direct view into my room. Even with the sheer curtains closed I still felt somewhat like they could see in. It was quite noisy as any noise in the corridor echoed into the room, which woke me up in the mornings. The WiFi didn’t work very well in the room and constantly cut out, but I was quite a distance from reception, so maybe this would be better in other rooms.
Excellent location and easy access to the train station, but very quiet inside our room (no train noise). The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. The water pressure for showers were excellent. We would stay here again!
There was air conditioning and a heater in the rooms.
Both rooms plus the bathrooms were pretty tiny. A hot shower wasn't always guaranteed.
Breakfast is served 5am-8:30am. If you're catching the 5:30am bus to Machu Picchu there isn't really enough time to eat properly. Additionally 8:30am is very early for breakfast to finish. There's only 11 tables and the 2 women working there were slow at clearing the tables and setting them for incoming guests.
We sat in reception for some time as there was only 1 chair for 2 people in the room - one of the receptionists had her 2 young children sat in the restaurant right next to reception with their phones/tablets blaring games/tv out. If you have to bring your kids to work, at least shut the door or give them headphones.
One morning outside our room 2 maids were chatting loudly at 6:15am and then proceeded to watch TV on their phones until they got a call on their radio (which was unnecessary loud at that time of the morning) 😡 later that same morning a male worker was just standing by the rooms listening to loud music on his phone. I did ask him to be quiet but it shouldn't happen in the first place - the staff didn't seem to have any respect for the guests or just common courtesy.
On our last night we realised 1 phone charger was missing from our room; it had been on the bedside table plugged in and then wasn't there. I went to reception and she got it out of her drawer. Via translate it turned out a co-worker had reported it? I asked what co-worker, where did they find it and why was it in her drawer when it should have been in our room - she couldn't answer that.
Quarto amplo, chuveiro bom, café da manhã muito bom.
Cama com colchão extremamente mole. Ruim.
Great hotel, close to the train station.
The 1st night we had a twin room, which was nice, only the mattresses were too soft for us.
The 2 additional nights we had a suite which was amazing and the kingbed has a very good mattress.
Location.
Ligging,
goed ontbijt en bedden
Great location and friendly staff! The hotel is very close to the train station. Also, their buffet-style breakfast tastes good. It seems the kitchen opens quite early, it was already available when I got there at 6am.
There was an electricity outage for a few hours during the daytime, but I guess it was an area-wide issue and wasn't the hotel's fault at all. Also, there was no garbage bin in the room.
