You get what you paid for.
Pros:

The location was basically a road crossing away from the Chiayi train station (not high speed rail station to be clear). The accommodation was also a 10-15min walk from the Night Market. The staff were nice and friendly. It is also rather affordable, nothing luxurious, just a good place to stay for the night with everything you need as you are going to Alishan.

Pros:

Very confidently located next to Chiayi Train station and lots of things to see around.
Complimentary breakfast was nice.

Pros:

フロントスタッフ、朝食会場のスタッフの対応が気持ちよかったです。特に、フロントスタッフは、こちらの問い合わせに真摯に対応してもらえて嬉しかった。

Cons:

全体的に設備が古く、浴室は清潔感が無かった。このホテルは、朝食が素晴らしいとなっていましたが、実際を見てあまりの酷さに驚きました。品数も少なく、あまり美味しくなかった。前日に宿泊したホテルが余りにも良かったのでそう感じたのかもしれませんが。

Alishan Jump Off
Pros:

Its just a stone away from the Chiayi Train Station . about 20 mins bus ride from Chiayi THSR .
A great jump off if you will go to alishan as its just few steps away from the hotel lobby like literally you will just walk to other street to get the bus.
The Shower gel smells so good. Bed is comfty . Room is good quite too .
There is free breakfast spread consist of typical taiwanese meal. They also have free water outside the room so you can refill anytime . They also have wifi in the room.

Cons:

a bidet would be great but no hassle at all for a night rest.
