After you arrive at Taichung Railway Station, please go out from Exit No.2 (Fuxing Road). You can either take a 15-minute walk to the hotel, or take Taichung city bus at Taichung Bus Station and get off at Taichung Elementary School, which is approximately a 10-minute bus ride.

1st Taichung trip
Pros:

The hotel location is quite good, within walking distance, and there is one of the night markets, which is full of locals. Walking distance to Lalaport and several local eateries, which are famous on social media. Hotel rooms are spacious, which allowed large size luggage to be opened fully and lie on the floor.

Cons:

Witnessed some of the hotel staff being rude to foreign tourists, although I'm not affected. However, I believe the hotel staff should react or handle professionally. Hotel breakfast can be skipped if you are not hungry in the morning.
