Beside the fine accomodation, what is special at Hotel Alpina is the staff. Everyone is friendly, kind and provides the guests with whatever they need. The food is superb! We had the most wonderful holiday for our 20th anniversary! THANK YOU, Thomas, Carmen and Team!
Very nice stuff, even more for kids (and even little noisy ones)
Fabulous cousine - for it´s price point (20E dinner) best value I´ve ever got in Austria (5 course menu)
Nice wellness
Newly designed rooms
Spacious parking lot

Beautiful hotel and super nice personnel, ALWAYS smiling and caring.
I missed a hottub… 😀
Swinningpool outsider is Nice but not in september, pool insite top! We had a Nice stay during 10 days, also though the setter was much better dan previeuwed. Lovely cleaning ladies, friendly girls helping you with your llittle problems. Housewine is oké. Bed was to hard for me but oke for my husband. The new shower was sooooo good! We liked the Raurissertal, not crowdy and verry green.
We stayed there over Christmas and had a lovely time. All staff members are very friendly and attentive and the half board is very nice, you can choose from different options as a main course and the food is very tasty. The room we had was spacious and clean with a nice view of the mountains. The owners are very engaged and will check in with you regularly. The gym is small but we enjoyed the time in the indoor swimming pool, there is also a sauna. I would definately recommend this hotel, we had an amazing time. Thanks to all the staff of Alpina!
This was such a wonderful hotel. Super friendly staff, beautiful comfortable rooms, gourmet food, just an all-around perfect experience. We had two adjoining rooms for our family of four, and there was a table in the corner perfect for playing games in the evening. The decor was cozy and tasteful with lots of natural wood, the beds were comfortable, the shower was amazing, there was a cellar for ski equipment and the lifts were not far away by car or ski bus. An extra plus: there were lovely thick drapes that blocked out all the light, so we slept like a dream. These are the extra touches that make the difference. And the food! Whereas Christmas Day there was a lot of hearty traditional meat-based fare, on the other evenings there were amazing culinary creations, with creative combinations and foams and subtle flavors. It really made the dining unique and special and so tasty! There was a peppermint-tea cream for dessert one evening that was one of the best things I have ever tasted. There were lots of special touches here too: homemade jams and also interesting chutneys, to go with the delicious cheeses in the evenings. We enjoyed the indoor pool, the table tennis and billiards, or just sitting in the lounge playing cards. A short drive away is the Hohe Tauern national park, for a good winter walk for any non-skiers in the family, and the little town itself is a brief walk up the road. Our children are grown, but there was also a playroom for smaller kids and what looked to be a nice playground behind the hotel, though of course now covered with snow. All in all a wonderful and welcoming place to stay.
From the moment we arrived the staff were very helpful and friendly. We do not speak German, but they were patient with us and gave us good local advice. The family suite we stayed in was only renovated a few months ago and was very modern and clean. There was more than enough room for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids). The lovely family atmosphere combined well with the excellent quality 4 star facilities, food and service. We paid for half board which included full breakfasts, afternoon snacks and 5 course dinners every day. The quality of the food was amazing. The Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the main ski school area, but there is a free ski bus that stops right outside and the free ski locker area in the hotel was easy to access. This hotel exceeded our expectations and we would definitely return.
We would like to say how great our stay was at the alpina. This hotel is fantastic in every way. We have stayed here twice now, with our most recent trip for 9 days. Travelled with our 2 young children and they loved it. The staff understand customer service, nothing is too much trouble. They are flexible over food with the children, but the nightly menu for children is very good. The rooms are cleaned to a high standard, with very good beds. The rooms have great views of the mountains with a good size balcony. They have lots of children's play equipment and 2 swimming pools, I would recommend for families. The hotel is a five minute walk to the town centre. We loved the hotel, the level of service and the food. The owners are present every day and Carmen showed us to our room, which rarely happens now days. Thanks for a great stay.
We made our reservation at Booking.com. Under hotel rules it was stated that children are welcome and that there is no space for extra beds. There was nothing about any extra costs. We have two children and ALWAYS book hotels with these rules because our children sleep in our beds when we travel. The receptionist started to argue with me about that we would have to pay extra for the room when we had children with us. I explained that booking always states, under the rules, if extra costs are incurred when children sleep in existing beds and that they do not say anything about extra costs here. She went and called her boss and came back saying that it would cost 70 euros for the children. Then I said that we would book another hotel instead. After another call, she came back saying that we could all stay there this time if we paid for the children's breakfast. I had initially said that I understood that there could be extra charges for the children's breakfast so that would not be a problem. Then she began to talk about how small the rooms were. We have lived together in considerably much smaller rooms and beds than we stayed at here. We stayed in Germany the night before and in Italy the night after. Same hotel rules, NO problem. Just smiling and accommodating staff. We live in hotels at least three times a year and we travel a lot with our children. This is the first time this is a problem.
During breakfast it hit me that none of the staff seemed happy to work here. No smiles and no happy faces at all (except a younger guy in the restaurant who was actually both smiling and very helpful).
We intended to have dinner at the hotel but due to the unpleasant response from the receptionist we decided to have our dinner at a restaurant in the village instead.
If we are going on a ski trip this winter, we would like to go to this village as the surroundings and nature were so cozy and beautiful. However, we will NEVER stay at this hotel again. The service is the most important thing for me! No hotel facilities or beautiful surroundings can ever make up for really poor service.
Well what can I say !!! we (a family of three) have just returned from a skiing holiday and during this time stayed at the Alpina. From the lovely warm welcome from Carmen on arrival to leaving early Saturday morning after an amazing gala dinner Friday evening I cannot praise this hotel highly enough. Every member of staff from kitchen, waiters/tress to cleaning always had a greeting and smile and are a credit to the owners. The food was exquisite and plentiful. The hotel rooms and facilities i.e. swimming pool, sauna etc. well maintained and most enjoyable. One highlight of the week was the village torch light walk where you learned about the history of Rauris from Paula (owners daughter) finished off with a warming schnapps. Good organisation from Crystal (and our lovely rep Laura). The weather was perfect and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone and cannot wait to return.
Really good family run hotel in a pretty village. My single room was quite roomy and had a balcony. All of the staff were friendly and efficient. The food (particularly the breakfast buffet) was excellent with three choices of main course at dinner. It was great to have a free apres ski snack after a day on the slopes. a free skii bus service ran every 30 minutes between the hotel and the two main access points to the ski area. Cleanliness and service were exceptional. I will definitely stay here again.
The ski area is not enormous but offers a good variety and piste maintenance was also excellent.
I would highly recommend a holiday in this resort, particularly staying at this hotel
We booked a week at the Alpina during our holiday in the end of December 2016 and beginning of January.
Our most important criteria was sauna use in the hotel after busy day in the slop.We was completely disappointed and dissatisfied with hotel rules regarding sauna use.We all must go there naked.Dont me to be wrong we must accept they rules but Crystal must inform they customer about austrian sauna as we just forgot about it on the time of our booking.
We dont like food and I think if we booked self cater accommodation its will be more healthy and tasty.
