The Caribe Tesoro was an excellent place to stay in Roatan! The rooms were nice, the location on West Bay beach was perfect and the staff was always smiling and ready to help with anything we needed. The had a swimming pool that was perfect for kids and grownups alike! They had a generous free breakfast that is perfect when you’re on vacation…and the view when you’re eating it is pure tropical paradise! Thank you Caribe Tesoro for an amazing week will always remember!

The breakfast was amazing every day.
The mattress in one room is in need of replacement, and the tv in the master bedroom didn’t work and no one could figure out how to fix it.

The food was really bad

The view and temperature inside , food . The night view the pool .
They didn’t have a functioning stove and we needed to make food for the babies, especially sterilizing the bottles . The staff stated unless the 7 rooms are all rented out they dont have it on.
Also it stated they had babysitting at additional cost and when i asked the staff they said they don’t provide that service.
I understand spiders and mosquitoes but there was a roach the size of my pinky . Also there was door with broken glass which is dangerous to have in an environment for kids.

Don’t go by anything else you read about Caribe Tesoro in West Bay, Roatan. We stayed there from Feb. 16 to Feb. 23, 2026 and this is the true story of how we overpaid for a less than optimal experience ...
Pros
Lovely people, always smiling.

Cons
• Tiny, tiny room. On Expedia it’s called the Comfort Double Room, but at the hotel it’s called Santiago de Palos. Whatever you call it, I’ve seen bigger rooms for less in major cities like London and Rome! Heck, I’ve seen bigger walk-in closets. The king-size bed has less than 3 feet on any given side and there’s nowhere to put your suitcase except on the floor – and when you did that the bathroom door wouldn’t close
• Decent-sized bathroom and shower, but the counter top it miniscule (maybe 2 X 3 feet max)
• No closets or drawers
• The description on Expedia says the tv has “premium cable channels”. What we got was the Netflix app, and to use it you needed you own account information
• No beach. (Fortunately, they have a reciprocal arrangement with Bananarama, as long as you’re willing to walk ten minutes there and back.)
Worst of all
I screwed up our flight booking and had to change our CT reservation from Feb. 15 – 22 to Feb 16 – 23 – a difference of one day! Expedia advised us that the cost would go up 50%. I asked for an explanation, but never got one, but decided to live with the difference.
In conclusion
We will not be returning to Caribe Tesoro. If we go back to Roatan, we’ll just stay at Bananarama and cut out the middle man (for a fraction of the price).
Property was insanely close to everything on West Bay beach, including nicer resorts/hotels I should have booked had I booked ahead! The decor is dated but cute, no real issue with the outside of the buildings. Very close/on the water.
The water fountains always smelled vaguely like algae, you can tell that a lot in the property just hasn’t been taken care of/cleaned in a long time. The bathroom was relatively clean when I arrived but had some small debris and hair..
Hi we tried having dinner here several times as we are here for a month. Food has potential to be good but very mismanaged. First thing very deceptive, For instance they will advertise 2 for one nights on different products. for instance burger night. when you get your bill you realize they did not give you 2 for one, so your burgers should be half price of what the menu is , But not so you buy 2 and just get a slight discount off of the menu. Every night we are there they are out of product and this is not late in the evening it is late afternoon early evening. One night we ordered nachos, we were informed they had no burger, we then said we would just take nachos with no burger. 20 minutes later we were informed they had no chips. Another night we ordered pastas and salads. after about 20 minutes our pasta was delivered and we were informed they were out of salad . to late for us to change restaurants as they were delivering the pasta. when my wife asked for a doggy bag they said they were out. Another night asked for limes with my salad they said they were out. All of these things are plentiful on the island. when i asked to speak with the owner I was informed he had passed away and i thought i can tell . But who ever owns the estate of this restaurant and resort need to fire the manager or give them a kick in the but as this is beautiful location is run very poorly. Oh another night ordered fish started eating it and said this really tastes like chicken and my wife tasted it and it definitely was so had to wait for new order.

We had the BEST experience at Caribe Tesoro! The staff made us feel totally at home and welcomed us like family. The location couldn't be beat - set on the north end of West Bay Beach, but away from the crowds when we wanted a quiet outdoor space. We especially loved Jack greeting us each time we drove in/out of the premises - such a kind soul and always giving us great tips where to go. Myra was like a personal friend and spent time chatting with us about her, and our, scuba endeavors - love that she dives too! Everyone at the restaurant had a smile and kind greeting each day - especially Sherrice, Scott & Sherlyn. Eating over the water was beautiful & serene. The front office ladies made sure our unit was stocked with fresh water, kitchen items and that all our devices had wifi access. Our room was spacious, clean and the price was super affordable. The landscape, maintenance and cleaning crews were always quietly taking care of the premises and making sure everything was in great condition without being intrusive. We can't wait to see everyone at Caribe Tesoro again soon!
My husband and I have been going to Roatan for years, staying with friends. This time, we ended our trip with a 4-day stay at Caribe Tesoro. No offense to our friends--but why did we wait so long to stay here?
It was amazing being right there on West Bay Beach! Our room was perfectly appointed, clean, and quiet surroundings, with well-equipped "studio" amenities: the best air conditioning, king bed, comfy cotton sheets, big shower, plenty of bath & beach towels, studio refrigerator, kitchen sink, bartop, seating area inside, in addition to an outside patio--all just a hop and a skip away from the sand---Of course, we had to jump into the pool and swim up to the bar before heading out to the sand and sun! Caribe's pool is a fun, relaxing option if you need a break from the beach. There is great dining onsite, in addition to many other local favorites close by. If you'd like to head to West End--water taxis are available directly on Caribe's beach! The staff throughout Caribe Tesoro are all very friendly and ready to help you with any of your needs. Thanks, Caribe Tesoro, for an amazing stay--We will definitely be back!
