We stayed at Boutique Hotel Puerta Azul in November and would definitely recommend this place. We received outstanding service throughout our stay. The hotel was clean, well maintained, and set in a picturesque garden right by the beach, with a long pier leading to the coral reef.

The hotel is located in a calm area, away from the lively, crowded, and noisy tourist spots. We personally didn’t spend much time on the hotel’s beach, as we were busy diving during the day, but we did enjoy using the SUP and kayak, which are free to rent from the hotel.

The food was delicious, and we will truly miss everyone from the staff. The owner is a fantastic person who genuinely cares about his guests. We had a couple of nice conversations with him.

It’s a great place for those who want to stay away from the crowds and truly relax, or for those who rent a car and occasionally go to the center for more options, then return to unwind in the evening and enjoy the peaceful mornings. You really feel close to nature here.

There is also a local bus service nearby, although we didn’t try it, and a small shop within a short walking distance. The hotel guests are not here by coincidence - they choose this place deliberately, which also makes it a wonderful place to meet interesting people.

This is a small resort with very nice, modern and clean bungalows. Rooms are spacious, cleaning staff always on time. Food (especially fish and lobsters) and restaurant staff are amazing. There is very easy access to the water from new jetty. Good for snorkeling even when the reef is about 150 meters away (the area next to jetty is grass only with very few rock/small corals formations). You can see some of tropical fish, lobsters, squids without to be forced to swim to the riff edge. You can get kayaks and SUP for free. Great sunset.

The service was beyond excepcional, the staff was always cheerful, helpful and friendly.
The location is spectacular with a house reef and lagoon for fantastic snorkeling. It was always quite and pleasant. The dock going out into the lagoon is the perfect place to read a book and enjoy sunsets.
The tropical gardens are lush and colorful.
The restaurant had great seafood. Everything was always fresh and prepared from scratch.
The hotel is close enough to West End to be convenient, far enough to escape the busy side of Roatan.
Diving with Sandy Bay divers was perfect.

The owner made us feel like we are at home.
We hope to be back soon.

This property is beautifully maintained with wonderful staff, delicious food, and lovely rooms. The location is great with a rental car. Makes it super easy to go between West End and West Bay. I am happy to return over and over!!

Our beachfront cabana was perfect. I spent much of my time in the hammock on the porch. The beach was very nice - lots of chairs and hammocks. We snorkeled off the end of the dock. The reef is a short swim away - you can go left (to Spooky Channel) or right. The dock also has hammocks. There is a common eating area set in a beautiful garden setting with scattered tables. Breakfast is complimentary and changes each day. Lunch and dinner are offered at a reasonable price and very worth it - the chef is amazing. You don’t notice other properties when you’re at the resort. They’ve done a fabulous job with the landscaping to make you feel like you’re within a botanical garden. The service is wonderful - they learn your preferences very quickly. Overall it was a fantastic getaway and highly recommended.

La cabaña es súper completa y acogedora. Tiene muy buena ventilación (aire acondicionado y ventilador), la cama es muy cómoda y el baño amplio. Las zonas comunes están muy bien acondicionadas. Nos encantó que nos proporcionaron toallas adicionales para la playa y que pudimos usar el paddel board. Valoramos que el desayuno es distinto todos los días y es completo (con porción de fruta fresca!). Sasha fue siempre muy amable y dispuesta a resolver las dudas que tuvimos. Nos encantaría regresar!!

The rooms are immaculately kept modern, amazing staff, everything I wanted is here. It started with letting Danielle at the front office book my excursions. I did the Half Day to West End, which includes Rum factory and also Chocolate factory. A later trip was Full Day to Camp Bay, one of the best beaches I've seen, same trip was Seafood soup in Punta Gorda, and the mangrove boat ride. Back at Puerta Azul, there's more snorkeling from their beach. Now for Rosa in the kitchen, she is an amazing chef, just let her cook you something and enjoy on their outdoor jungle patio.

Tudo a exceder largamente as expectativas. Local e hotel muito confortáveis e sossegados. Com recife de coral mesmo em frente e com vários pontos de entrada e interesse. Pequeno almoço muito agradável com variações diárias de comida local. Happy hour de aproveitar a meio da tarde para umas ótimas bebidas. Por do sol mágnifico a partir do pontão puerta azul.

This property was STUNNING. It’s like if White Lotus met Couples’ Retreat- just top tier luxury and a staff that takes care of every want and need.

We had the most wonderful, comfortable stay at Puerta Azul. We fully intend to go back next year!

Everything about this hotel was amazing. From the welcome drink to the food. Everyone was super nice and friendly.

The private villas were immaculately clean and beautifully designed, offering the perfect blend of comfort and tranquility. It felt like our own secluded retreat nestled in paradise.

The food? Phenomenal. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and artfully prepared—it genuinely felt like dining in a high-end, beachside sanctuary.

The entire island was stunning, and the people were just as beautiful—kind, welcoming, and full of heart. I can’t say enough good things about this place. We’re already dreaming about our return. Puerta Azul is the kind of destination you never forget. Highly recommend!

I loved this property i will be back it was so clean and beautiful scenery ! Just make sure you have bug spray the mosquitos will a have good feast lol but the staff is so welcoming and they will help you with anything that you need.

We recently spent 7 days at Puerta Azul, and it was truly a memorable experience.

The staff is amazing, always friendly and available. The food was absolutely delicious. We especially loved the location, nestled in lush greenery right by the ocean, and the private dock that provided easy access for incredible snorkeling near the reef.

Watching the sunset from the hammock on the dock palapas was an absolute dream.
