The room we upgraded to was big (and expensive) but beautifully located with afternoon sun, facing the entry of the hotel and the hot tub.
The hot tub is well used and beautifully located on the fjord, next to the boat.
Breakfast was great, although the gluten-free options were very limited (no edible bread, no muesli).
Dinner options for a gluten-free vegetarian who eats fish are also quite limited...
We originally wanted a room towards the mountains, but they are not available when booking online for 3. When we were at the reception, it would have been possible, but the rooms were booked. It would be nice to make this available when booking.

Sehr schön und idyllisch, ein Traumzimmer. Alles passte styllischtisch perfekt zusammen.
Super bequeme Betten, gutes Badezimmer und eine tolle Lage beim Hafen. Outdoor Hot-Spring-Pool und ein tolles Frühstücksbuffet.
Restaurant ist etwas zu sehr haute-cuisine mässig, da mag ich lieber simple Kost, entsprechend auch die Preise.

Truly spectacular setting with a picturesque drive along the coast line. Very nice outdoor baths right on the water. Our room was amazing with vaulted ceiling and balcony.

- Frühstücksangebot toll für die Tatsache, dass man sich im nördlichsten Ort Islands befindet
- freundliches Rezeptionspersonal
- Einrichtung stilvoll und gemütlich
- Buchten 5 Nächte, Zimmer wurde erst und nur 1x nach Bitte unsererseits gereignet. Man muss wohl explizit das Schild an die Türe hängen, wurde uns leider nie gesagt und kennen wir von anderen Hotels dieser Kategorie nicht. Einmalige Reinigung war leider nicht gründlich, zB. benutzt aussehender Badezimmerboden nicht gesäubert
- Hotel war mehrere Tage ausgebucht, Hotel Management schien damit überfordert. Beim Frühstück waren Tassen, Teller, Brot etc. noch während der Frühstückszeit aus, wurden nur auf Nachfrage von Gästen nachgefüllt
- höflich nette Nachfrage nach Salz bei Frühstückspersonal, pampig, gestresste Antwort „I am busy“ seitens Personal - vier Sterne Hotel Standard? Nein.
- Zimmer hatte keine Privatsphäre da EG-Lage und Fenster direkt am Fussgängerweg. Bei einer Nacht zur Durchreise kein Problem, bei einer Buchung von 5 Nächten wäre ein etwas „privateres“ Zimmer schön gewesen. Zimmerwechsel oder Upgrade, welches wir selbstverständlich bezahlt hätten, nicht möglich.
- viele Gäste, viel Andrang am Hot tub. Leere Gläser lagen stundenlang rum obwohl Personal durch ging und leider war der Pool recht schmutzig, da niemand vorab zu duschen schien.
- Qualität und Service für uns im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften, die weniger Sterne und geringe Zimmerpreise hatten, schlechter
- Restaurant hatte das gleiche, einzige vegetarische/vegane Gericht auf der Karte wie vor einem Jahr, das wir bereits kannten und nicht gut fanden. Hätten gerne dort gegessen, als Vegetarier und für den Preis leider nicht lohnenswert. Lieferkettenproblematik in Island ist uns bewusst, Angebot könnte aber zeitgemässer sein.
Wir liebten das Siglo Hotel bei unserem ersten Aufenthalt letztes Jahr, kommen nach dieser Erfahrung aber nicht wieder, da man unserer Meinung nach bei einem Hotel dieser Kategorie und Preisklasse mehr im Bereich des Qualitäts- und Servicefaktor geboten sein sollte.
Haus lebt von jahrelangem tollen Ruf, tollen Gebäude und der unbezahlbaren Lage. Schade.
