Good base for a quick stay in 高雄.
Pros:

Quiet, calm, convenient location. Value was wonderful. Very clean.

Cons:

Not the most comfortable room to spend a lot of time but that’s more reason to get outside and explore.

Pros:

Super friendly staff. When there was an issue with a neighbor smoking they swapped my room no questions asked. Bed was comfy and location was close to restaurants, cafes, and more. Water dispensers on every floor were a nice add.

Cons:

As other reviews have mentioned, it's an older building with old building problems (sound dampening, occasional cleanliness oddities, plain aesthetics)

Perfect location, close to river path and night markets
Pros:

This hotel was in the perfect location. It is easy walking distance to a few night markets and the Formosa metro station, as well as some temples, and the river and running paths along the river. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and there was a hot/cold water dispenser and free coffee and tea in the lobby. My room was small but comfortable, and had a nice big window. Despite the hotel being in a pretty busy section of town, it was not super noisy. You could hear the cars go by on the street sometimes but it is not a very loud street all in all. The beds are firm, which I prefer, and there are tons of options for groceries and dining out nearby.

Cons:

The WiFi was not fast (8 mbps up / 4 mbps down). This is not the hotel's fault, but despite no smoking rules, someone was definitely smoking on my floor.
